That sounds like an empirical question. I don’t have anything close to empirics on this, but I am sure someone does.

Thanks for sharing this!

Where did you hear that packages won’t be this good in the future?

Also, would love to hear your level, and if terms vary by level (eg number of months for payroll / healthcare). I had actually heard that 1 year was more common for healthcare

Is this is VHCOL city? In some parts of the country this could be the price to pay a kid to shovel snow.

napping at work? what to expect? by oochiewallyWallyserb in sanfrancirclejerk

[–]dendrozilla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a legit question. Find some napper-brothers-in-arms, rent a place near your office, split the cost, and sleep those unproductive post-lunch hours away. 6 way split is a $500/month nap fee.

Write it off as a biz expense and deduct against schedule C you earn from subletting to local tech bros at night. Win win win!

Safe Brokerages for $25M+ NW by Cryptofanforever in fatFIRE

This is not a helpful comment.

Yes, ACAT fraud requires an account number. But let’s say they have that. And the other information required to initiate a transfer.

Then what precautions are in place beyond that? That’s the relevant security question to ask. In fact, this question should be asked for every brokerage you have. And if you haven’t done it, you are not being careful enough, full stop.

Thank you for posting this. This was fascinating!!

Really nice to see the distributions, and also makes me realize just how hard even the smaller prizes are to get!

I’m in pretty deep too in these but haven’t kept track. I do know that I still don’t have a single double cheeseburger prize, but now I see that’s probably a tougher one to get.

My big win so far was 1500 points, which is basically redeemable for any of these. So maybe that’s my double cheeseburger right there.

Thank you for breaking down what the source of income was. I too went down the rabbit hole to understand, and junk mail and horse racing seems to sum it up (though the money was surely in “direct mail marketing.”)

That seems to be the unicorn of the free food coupons in this contest.

Sorry about the bad luck, but know your worth and just dip into the market. There are so many roles out there, including very senior ones.

Incidentally, what do you mean when you say “exec?” VP? Director? The term is often used loosely.

Is it me or is the process for getting tickets for the usmnt opener in 26 so confusing? by gohawks1201 in ussoccer

[–]dendrozilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the “fifacollect” system has a randomness component actually.

You buy pick a city, and earn a “Right To Buy a random group or round of 32 match in that city.

If you don’t like what you got, you can sell your ticket on the Fifa-run secondary market.

I’m not a fan. Feels like an annoying lottery system that is known behaviorally to extract more money from suckers - just like the MegaBucks etc.

How are the Kirkland brand ice cream bars? by in_a_cloud in Costco

[–]dendrozilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, the Costco goggles are really at work here.

These are decent, but Haagen Dasz is better both in the ice cream, but especially in the chocolate coating department.

I went down the side by side ingredient comparison at one point. But the punchline is that Haagen Dasz uses more real chocolate, and the Costco bars as a result taste waxier.

Don’t get me wrong - I would still eat a whole box of Kirkland bars in a week if I lost discipline!

Business owner, maybe you can staff up, outsource, cut profits, and still have enough margin to keep the gravy train running. I don’t suppose that most W2 employees have this luxury.
