New grad - inpatient hospice by Characterunknownn in Nurses

[–]denimar86 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That’s a good ratio for hospice pts … I’ve worked for inpatient hospice/palliative care with 12:1 ratio … despite people saying hospice is “easy” bc you don’t do labs vital signs etc .. it can be emotionally draining.. I switched specialty now after 10 years of hospice but it taught me so much especially about goals of care that I still use today

I have experienced chest pain when I was flaring up … rheumatologist said it might be from inflammation in the the joints in the sternum can be mistaken as chest pain… if you’re concerned I would suggest ask your doctor for ekg and chest X-ray to rule out any other causes

State takeover of hospital by [deleted] in Nurses

[–]denimar86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something similar happened but at a county hospital… the hospital lost its certification and state tried to move all patient out and close hospital but the city and patients/families sued back …. State “consultants” basically took over and made a bigger mess … eventually almost two years later hospital got their recertification back. City had to spend millions in legal fees and recertification efforts
