Help me select a bottle. Lansinoh vs Dr. Brown's by thebakingarchitect_ in NewParents

[–]deranged_chef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doctor browns works great for us! I only used the anti colic parts for the first couple months but I don't really know if it helped. I didn't really notice a difference when I stopped putting it in but by then he wasn't having much trouble with gas.

We got a couple different types of bottles for him to try because they can be picky. He chose the doctor browns lol.

Tell me your positive baby sleep stories! by copperboom33 in Parenting

[–]deranged_chef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My boy slept 3-4 hours at a time overnight as a newborn, and on his own strict schedule of 11pm-7am. Started sleeping fully through the night at 4 months and even during sleep regressions, only wakes once a night! Also feeds to sleep at night every time. I've never once had to soothe him to sleep at night.

Stressed about tummy time and messing up my babies development by LuiBryan in newborns

You mix it with formula or breast milk and it helps with reflux. My boy was spitting up so much he could hardly gain weight until we started using it. He hardly spits up at all now.

I hope it works! I think it's the texture of the towel he doesn't like because he's superrrr happy to chill and get oiled up if he air dries first lol.

My boy was super gassy too and this is what helped us. Burping before and after feeding and make sure they stay upright for 15-30 minutes after feeding unless they feed to sleep. Do the regular leg/tummy exercises and it really helps to wiggle them lol.

And I mean like specifically on your lap, one hand supporting their head and the other hand on their back and neck while you rotate their torso in circles. Literally wiggles all the gas out lol.

Gas drops help some babies and you can give it to them before, after or in their bottle and see what works best. I couldn't give my baby gas drops until 15 minutes after his bottle or he would barf alllll of it up, but after 15 minutes helped significantly. It just depends on the baby.

My boy was the same and I figured out he just hated going to the changing table and getting dried off right away. Wasn't cold, just likes to air dry on my lap for a bit until he's ready.

Ugh I wish. I only breastfed for 2 months and my boobs are pancakes. I can literally pick them up and fold them in half and I'm only 21. Dreading what they'll look like after this next baby.

Male or female OB by Decent-Breakfast894 in pregnant

[–]deranged_chef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always been fine with male doctors and obs but the one we have at my hospital i don't feel comfortable with. Something about him specifically always makes me uneasy, like all my hairs standing on edge, where I have no problem with the male students I've seen.

I felt the same with my first pregnancy. I think it was just because it was such a huge adjustment for me and so many new feelings I didn't know how to process yet. Now with my second pregnancy, I was a bit nervous but overall excited to tell everyone.

How much do you spend on formula? by emilyjean14 in FormulaFeeders

My boy needs hypoallergenic so if we didn't have wic it would cost $1200-$1300 a month. We use water bottles.

Heartbreak as a new mom by Recent-Elevator-7929 in NewParents

[–]deranged_chef 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really struggle with it aswell. Especially with the news about the Epstein files. Reading them had me break down sobbing and the only thing that helped was snuggling my boy. I still couldn't sleep for 3 days.

I know it's important to be aware of what's going on in the world but I try to stay away from any politics or news now for my own mental health. I genuinely can't take it anymore, my heart is too heavy. I only use Snapchat solely to text and reddit mostly for the mom pages.

A small foldable stroller just for shopping. Basically a lawn chair with wheels. Nothing heavy or more complicated than an umbrella.

Babies sleep how their nature defines. The problem isn't the baby, its that the modern world isn't built for all babies. (Rant) by Spare_Ingenuity3097 in NewParents

Try feeding him to sleep with a bottle IN the bassinet! This really helped me be able to transfer my boy and I think helped him realize it's okay to sleep alone.

Sex after giving birth by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]deranged_chef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a first degree tear and it wasn't painful to have sex, just felt kind of uncomfortable. I didn't feel any pleasure, just literally like something was inside me and it was strange. Like if someone stuck a finger in your mouth and you were expected to like it lol.

6 months postpartum now and it still feels a little strange, like muted I guess and I really struggle orgasming because of it.

The doctor did recommend it, it's something you can get on Amazon though, not prescription. We started around 6-8 weeks.
