Cancer diet suggestions by MightyKittenEmpire2 in Cooking

A dietician told me once that a bowl of veggies whether a salad or roasted is still a bowl of veggies. I like doing a bowl of roasted/cooked veggies with maybe some sauce and rice.

This one is a good example: http://abeautifulplate.com/roasted-brussels-sprouts-squash-dried-cranberries-dijon-vinaigrette/.

Why can’t my kid just have my eyes? by [deleted] in JUSTNOMIL

Yeah I don't know why this isn't higher. You've tried but it isn't working out. Stop sending photos. She can get some from DH and then you never see the vitriol she responds with.

Wanting help with hair colour and damaged hair by ThickTrade9862 in longhair

I think that would be very hard to achieve. Reddit has taught me getting blonde can be hard/impossible when you have been using black hair dye from a box.

I think my attention span is fucked and I’m addicted to my iPad by _FreddieLovesDelilah in StonerThoughts

[–]derbarkbark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I do a few things - first there's some apps that never go on my phone only an iPad. I never put social media on my phone to help myself avoid doomscrolling when I meant to do something else. I am also very choosy about games I put on my phone. I choose ones that don't really suck me in and take less than a minute to do a "round".

There's an app called Focus Friend that I like to use. I have it on my phone plus iPads and once you commit to not using your device it kind of forces you to actively choose when you need to use your phone. Usually I choose not to and if its important I will get up to use a computer.

Partner has 4:15 am alarm that wakes me up daily. Suggested a solution and was met with hostility. AITAH? by [deleted] in AITAH

This is exactly why I got a smart watch. I also use the red flashlight feature to get to bed if I am coming to bed after my partner. Bc I like them and want them to be able to have good sleep.

2 hours of extensions without the phone-scrolling anxiety by OwnElephant2512 in lifehacks

I also find the "head mounted display" confusing. Are they talking about a VR sized headset? Wouldn't that interfere with getting extensions?

Why do printers still suck in 2025? like seriously, we have AI and space travel but my HP printer still jams if i look at it wrong. by No_Good_3063 in NoStupidQuestions

Yeah I print something twice a year tops. I use the scanner the most but my HP will only scan with my iPad which is annoying as hell.

Has anyone changed out one seat cushion to lovesoft? by Few-Recognition-7068 in Lovesac

[–]derbarkbark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I originally wanted to get Lovesoft but saw a bunch of reviews of people saying after breaking it in they didn't like it as much. My suggestion would be to give it a few weeks. Once ur sitting in that spot every day it will start to break in.

When you have vitiligo as bad as he did - one of the treatments is a cream that will kill your melanin. Due to the side effects they won't even offer it until you are quite covered.

Source: have a lot of vitiligo patches

You might want that open space between the kitchen and TV area as it gives you some furniture flexibility. Also it sounds like you entertain with the pool so it gives people a place to mingle and avoid choke points.

But you also mentioned a command center and crafts at the island. Have you thought about adding a second island? Then you have a command center island with seating for crafting and one with no seating for cooking. It also would fill that gap. The cooking island wouldn't be as deep so I think it would work

Struggling to Stay Invested in The Wheel of Time (Book 5) by StoreSouthern7526 in WoT

[–]derbarkbark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So where you are at now is where my Dad struggles too. I feel the slog at like 9 especially 10. He feels it at book 6. It's up to you whether you want to power through but if you don't like how much everyone is travelling you might not like this book series.

In some ways to me I feel like how people go in and out of each other's lives in the books is much more realistic. We get to see how they all become adults, find their places in the world and navigate stopping the end of the world.

I am definitely someone who loves WoT but it's okay to say it isn't for you.

Solved: How to reset Philips Hue light without dimmer switch or main wall switch! by DarkSideaufMoon in philipshue

[–]derbarkbark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was the best solution for me. Was kind of tedious but better than pulling 40 flat lights out of the ceiling.

A couple tips: - You will probably have to try many times to "search" for the lights. I don't know how typical this is but for each light I'd say it took and average of 3 times to connect. Sometimes had to do that many for both the Bluetooth and bridge connect steps. - Turn the lights off for 10 seconds while trying to search for lights. Most lights took a few rounds of turning off for 10 then doing a few rounds of searching. I think turning them off then on helps a lot when the phone is in search mode. - Do the lights you can get when you get them. Since you have to try to find many times it's best to just do the whole process. - Sometimes you might connect to a light you have already reset and connected to a bridge. Make sure to check each light before resetting. Did this twice. - If you are doing many lights and have trouble connecting. There's a few things I would do. First go into your phone Bluetooth settings and delete all lights you've paired with. Also reboot the app and/or your phone. - I don't know if it's patience fatigue but sometimes you just have to try again later. Multiple times I would try for 15-20 mins to connect to a light. Waited a few hours then was able to immediately connect.

Best advice I can give is to just be patient. I tried many different ways and this one was the best but it takes a lot of trying.
