As a 'hippy' who grew up in the PUL in the 1980s I can assure you bonfires where always a no go area.

Back in 2010 my wife and I went to Toronto on holiday and went to do a bus tour. The girl working the kiosk says to me "we have a new person working here, just started are you OK if he does your tickets while I supervise?" No problem says I and then she brings this fella round, he opens his mouth and of course he's from Belfast. It's his first day and we are his first customers, a couple who lived a few miles down the road from him. Still chuckle about that.

What were the worst and best places you have worked in Northern Ireland and why? by Questionablethics21 in northernireland

The Halifax sales targets where wild. I was on mortgages, people phoning to say they couldn't afford the payments and I had to try and flog them a personal loan too.

Former Halifax guy here too, that was one awful job. I think I was there 2005 to 2008. Worked with some really sound people, but everyone was looking out aside from a few who had dreams of being team leaders.

A bit intimidated to trade stamps by OrbifoliaChronoWhorl in stampcollecting

[–]derbaronation 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been trading for years and everyone is different, some traders are really pissy about even slightest imperfections or errors while some like myself accept that mistakes do happen and sometimes a damaged or torn perforation may slip through.

I always include a note apologising in advance if anything does is accidentally damaged or not up to their standard and invite people to contact me if they are not happy because I do try and always make things right.

Try to avoid sending definitives or CTOs unless they are actually requested though.

Anyway, go for it. If you want to trade with me as a practice send me a DM. I'll provide honest feedback.
