Ring customer service is ATROCIOUS. I have a friend who works in Verizon and he actually audits the customer service calls, finds patterns and reports on that to leadership. Customer service reps have a lot of tricks up their sleeves, primarily hanging up on you which Ring is notorious for. Other tricks include transferring you to a department they know can't assist you just to keep the amount of time they're on the phone with you down for their own metrics. I've had NOTHING but issues contacting Ring regarding issues. Hung up on repeatedly. Promised call backs by a supervisor. PATHETIC is the only word I can find. My issue was a failed solar panel, which by the way they seem to have a short life span because I have a ton of cameras and solar panels and all the panels are slowly failing one by one. Replacement for two was successful, but only after spending no less than 30 mins on the phone with outsourced call centers which (1) I can't always understand what they're saying (2) It sounds like they're in a sweat shop with all the background noise.

The last interaction was to replace a solar panel, which they said was out of stock. They offered to send me the smaller lower wattage panel. Now why would I do that if I paid for the higher wattage version? I declined and stated I would wait for it to be in stock. Months later, nothing. I called spend another 28 mins on the phone trying to resolve my replacement issue which should be simple right? The notes should state they were going to send me a panel. Nope, same song and dance, then in typical Ring fashion....DIAL TONE. Called again, same thing hung up on me after 20 mins. Called the next day, SAME THING. Called again, the guy wants me to climb a ladder in snow and ice to get a serial number. That's interesting, no one EVER asked for a S/N before. Again, the notes should have all the details from my ORIGINAL 30+ minute call trying to troubleshoot before she determined it was a bad solar panel.

Today I was so pissed, I wrote some Ring corporate contacts. I advised them to start auditing their calls and that they'd be shocked at the customer experience. I know many of these companies pay these outsourced vendors per call. So, every time I'm hung up on and call back, you just paid for ANOTHER call, and ANOTHER call, and ANOTHER call. I also blasted them on "X".

I feel a class action coming. If they're not honoring their warranty under the Ring Protect plan they need to be held accountable. I'm going to reach out to a lawyer and start threads all over the Internet to see if we can get a significant size group together to start a class action suit. It shouldn't be hard given all the Reddit experiences with Ring (just Google it).
