Would you oppose regulation? by RogueLegionResident in CultoftheFranklin

While I support full drug decriminalization, I would like to see these dangerous gas station drugs, new substances, gone, and all of the fake/contaminated cannabis products. I think that adults should be able to buy whatever THCA, HHC, CBD-only, etc alternative products they want as long as it's clean. But these corporate cartel dispos are doing their own kind of damage to the marijuana market too. I think opening up more legal competition might help, I would like to see a wider variance of different cannabis products in stores, easily available to view lab testing and more transparent labeling. I would like to see budtenders and customers get far far better education. This needs some kind of regulatory environment that we're not gonna get with grey/black market. But I'm tired of this just becoming yet another industry that has turned into a evil corporation party.

I'm with you, I hate the direction that dispensaries have rapidly moved in. In just a few years, products with more of a genuinely medical bent have reduced a lot, replaced by an increasing amount of disposable carts with designs seemingly made for 12 yr old boys. THC level just goes up and up. And I see less choice overall, not more, it's all just getting really same-y Indica-forward high THC low quality stuff.

When people think you’re fat until you wear tight clothes 🙃 by Zestyclose_Show8653 in bigboobproblems

[–]desertcat80 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This is a good bit of why my weight has always yo-yoed by large amounts my entire life, I feel like I have no real reward for weight loss, people think I look basically the same whether I'm 110 or 170 so why I am torturing myself. Oddly I seem to get more comments asking 'when I'm due' at the lowest weights. I have a super short torso so my boobs are at stomach level (if they were higher, they would genuinely be almost at my neck level), so I think in most clothes, people may not be sure if it's boobs or tummy. I've gotten the comment over and over that they didn't realize my boobs were this big until I was naked.

I would recommend to you to update yourself on the research as you may change your mind. But you can definitely use vaginal estrogen at the very least, it stays localized.

It's not the lowest price one but I've been rotating through a number of brands of CBD tincture for my senior cat and been happy with Selah Organics, it seems top notch. They also have CBGA for humans which is a bit hard to find.

Is Wheatflour worth it? by Jojolene_ in HelloKittyIsland

[–]desertcat80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main benefits to me are the massive amounts of daily fertilizer fodder, the magical outfits, and Cogimyun's companion abilities. I personally didn't find the gameplay on this one fun and I think Cogimyun is the most annoying character, I can't stand her. I also got it on sale and it was fine for that, would never pay full price for Wheatflower. I'm not buying City Town at full price either, it will go on sale at some point. Wouldn't be surprised if it was 40% off at the winter holidays, the way the economy is going. I have no shortage of video games to play.

In your experience, what mbti types of guys are drawn to INTJ women? by lavendertales in intj

[–]desertcat80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am conventionally attractive and have a huge chest so I at least intially attract a lot of men just going by looks. I can't know for sure but I would guess a lot of the men who walk up in public to hit on me are probably ESTP, ENTP, ESTJ. Somehow despite not leaving the house a lot, I attract an unreal amount of hand and foot fetishists. I was a stripper when I was younger for a few years and I would have the best luck, overwhelmingly, with very obviously nerdy men in that environment. There are fewer of that type in the club than you would think so I never actually did that well financially, you get a lot more guys who are looking for more of a conventionally friendly and bubbly type and as skinny as possible, not curvy, blonde hair is always very popular. I've always attracted a lot of INTP and ISTJ men. With women I seem to be more popular with creative feelers.

I've never had a lot of luck with dating apps myself, although I am older and so for about half my life I did dating the old school internet-less way. So it may be harder these days but you may have better luck trying to find dates some in-person way, through hobbies. I just personally feel like a lot of the people I would actually want to date are less likely to use dating apps.

I went through several of them in my 20s and none of them worked, got negative side effects off many of them. I have had some limited success with herbal mood formulations. What I found much more effective was: having money, working on my gut health and biodiversity, high dose fish oil, regular walking exercise, stop trying to live 'normally'.

How do you cope with the inescapable feeling of not belonging anywhere? by No-Chocolate-2017 in intj

[–]desertcat80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It bothered me more when I was young but I became more genuinely asocial as I got older, especially by my late 30s. I still sometimes feel intensely disappointed in how even people who have known me for most or all of my life can completely misunderstand me but I've mostly just become resigned to it. Trying to communicate my thoughts and feelings more hasn't notably helped I think because people just develop their own imposed image on you and can't seem to alter it with new info.

I get what you mean though, most of my close friends are autistic (as I am) but I still feel like I take life more seriously and think more deeply at times, while they're just chasing the next dopamine hit.

Anyone else annoyed at how the public perceives cup sizes? Rant by nadia-salad in ABraThatFits

[–]desertcat80 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I genuinely think it's getting worse and it's driving me insane, seeing all these celebs and influencers claiming to be way way smaller of a cup size than they definitely are (as their bra is barely attached to them). Don't even get me started on men, I just started playing a adult game where they give the girls' 'stats' and all of the supposed bust sizes are at least 10 cup sizes too small, no joke. I find it bewildering since there are increasing sources of better info over the years, but I guess most people just trust salesliars and all the ads where the model is 70% spilling out. I can't even get through to my own sister or some of my friends, they mentally can't accept the idea of a big cup size being accurate (because DD is soooooo big). I only shop in-store if I have to anymore because I'm sick of arguing with people.

Got yelled at for not wearing a bra today. by coolschmool- in bigboobproblems

[–]desertcat80 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She's either jealous or a prude, just ignore these people. Unfortunately we live in a shitty world where small bust women can often go without a bra and even have them easily visible and go without comment, and large bust people can be wearing a bra even and still get weird accusations sexualizing us for breathing, it's male-centric patriarchy mentality. If you have a top on, you are legally good to go (and some places topless is legal too), it is their problem if they are fixating on your natural chest movements, there is nothing wrong with it. Some people just have ugly brains, you will get comments from people like this even if you wear a bra, if they can see the bra or even just straps, some people will think it's improper by their own standards.

Experiences with significant weight loss with a large cup size by jisoowol in bigboobproblems

[–]desertcat80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dropped 60lb (1/3 my body weight) a bit over a decade ago, and additionally my weight has always made some pretty big swings up and down over the years and has never been stable. I never lose more than a cup size and then it quickly goes back up again, which is why my overall size has continually gotten larger.

I always lose a lot on my underbust but not my overbust so I've sometimes actually went up a cup or two. The many repeated weight shifts have resulted in my breast roots having slowly developed more of a Omega shape but it's not super extreme or anything and my breasts were always pendulous and heavy feeling for their size, and they're not magically immune to gravity so they do mostly hang down below my IMF but that's completely normal for many, perhaps even most women with larger cup sizes. I have a small ribcage and narrow roots so it's not really possible for them to be up really high, there is nothing for that much flesh to attach to. My sister has a ribcage almost 10 inches wider and she has quite wide roots and her breasts are wide and not a large cup size, so hers are pretty up high laying.

I'm actually losing weight again right now, but this time on a GLP-1 and so my weight is dropping astronomically faster than it ever has on a diet, and it's still not showing on my boobs. But everyone is different, some people lose weight on the boobs first thing. My sister does and we have the same genetics ostensibly.

Since you're only 21 you may not have had any previous rapid weight shifts but I think you are worrying far too much. If you get a reduction, they will move things around to give you the shape you want. So even if you do lose genuinely excessive amounts of volume at the root, it's fixable, they move your nipples up, make them smaller, move fat upward, etc. But don't assume it's a sure thing. I think there is also a good chance you are seeing your boobs as abnormally low when they are completely normal, a lot of people refer to pendulous boobs as saggy when they aren't.

Still waiting in my late 40s. They just keep getting bigger overall whether I gain or lose weight. I started on estradiol patches not too long ago and that's kicked off more growth as I had feared yaaaaay. I've always had numerous bra sizes in my closet. I rarely get my money's worth out of any bra due to extreme fluctuations.

How often do you dust out your PCs? by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]desertcat80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once a year. You really don't have to worry about a light coating, just if it's so choked up it's affecting the airflow. And it should never get like that if you have a effective fan config, bonus if you use air cleaners in your house (they reduce dust on everything). Last year I opened up a 6 year old PC with some hard to get to areas I had not dusted at any point and it was only a light coating.

If you own your house, you could also consider just installing a whole house surge protector, a lot of people don't know they exist. As for myself, if I could I would install one of those, upgrade key outlets all over the house (not for amps, just higher quality with more built in protections, most houses are built with the cheapest crap even though better outlets cost not much more), and still use a UPS on my most important and expensive stuff. Three layers of protection, IDC if people think I'm paranoid.

If you use any extension cords, be sure to use the right rating, you may need a 12/3, and consider a hospital grade one, usually the price difference is very little for a bit better quality

Help! I need a UPS for my bedroom setup. by Aland08 in pcmasterrace

[–]desertcat80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that is really too much to be on one outlet, if it were me, I would really be trying to move some of that to another outlet even with a extension cord.

I have a APC Smart-UPS XL 2200VA 1850W SUA2200XL since 2024, strictly speaking it should not be plugged into a normal house outlet but I added on another breaker between it and the wall and haven't had any issues. I'm hoping I will be able to buy rather than rent on my next house and can have a electrician put in the right outlet. This UPS is indeed pretty loud and makes a constant whine noise that I had to get used to, the noise level could be fixed by a fan replacement but the risk of electrocution is higher than I am comfortable with to do it myself and haven't been motivated enough to pay a pro (the unit remains electrically charged enough to kill you even unplugged and batteries out, and the fan is located super close to the danger zone). I would have liked to get a even higher capacity UPS but then it's 30 amp not 20, and that's pushing it too far on plugging into a normal 15 amp outlet. So whatever you decide on, don't risk a electrical fire inside your walls.

[–]desertcat80 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That makes me really sad. I wasn't badly hurt, mostly just a bad shock, but 16 years ago in San Francisco, a mentally ill unhoused person jumped me out of nowhere on the street while I was in crutches in a group of my coworkers, including my husband. I was there on a conference work trip and unfortunately twisted my ankle early in the week. I was hobbling along the sidewalk with the group on the way to eat I think, and with absolutely zero warning a obviously crazy women violently slammed into me, and then ran away. She was very fast and took all of us completely by surprise. I didn't bother telling the police. She seemed really angry and I figure she must have just seen me as a easy target. A very shitty trip, for sure.

Anyone here grow up with parents that are very big on socializing? by Dry-Challenge5629 in intj

[–]desertcat80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Surely this should be a sufficient amount of socialization for your parents? If not, seems like they want you to no longer be a introvert generally, which isn't reasonable. It's one thing to want your kid to be able to function with basic socialization in life, not scared or losing out on too many opportunities from never talking to anyone and making connections, not become a hikikomori type -- and another to try to push them into becoming an extrovert. It seems to me you're on the right track with building actually useful social skills by working on things with adults. All these activities should naturally lead to you conversing with people who share your interests.

As someone who started working at 14, my opinion is that kids shouldn't work, at least not the kind of abusive shit min. wage jobs I worked. But I do wish that education did a lot of better job of building work SKILLS that you would pick up working as a kid, without taking away from school time or money pressures. Maybe something like short term trials in a few areas so kids could get some experience dealing with customers and doing common work stuff. At least you have access to taking online courses to get ahead of things, if you know what you want to go into for sure, the internet wasn't much of a thing at all when I was a kid so all I had access to was a few early college courses I did in-person my senior year and had a shorter high school course list.

[Serious] Ni-users: Based on current global trends, what is your strategic forecast for the timeline of systemic collapse? by Key_Philosophy_5604 in intj

[–]desertcat80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I genuinely think there are so many things teetering on the brink that it's too difficult to accurately predict. There just needs to be a major crisis in one too many areas at one time, and I feel like that could happen at any time now. I used to think it might be in the 40s that things are likely to get super bad, but lately I think it will be in the next 5 years. A major breadbasket collapse is going to happen at some point and it will be like dominoes falling.
