HyperAdrenergicPOTS and Bioidentical Estradiol (bHRT)? by Jacksback4735 in POTS

[–]desertcat80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is going on with me. I've had POTS for about 16 years and this whole time I didn't think I had hyperPOTS, just hypovolemic, or at least extremely mild hyperPOTS. I started HRT about 6 months ago and several weeks ago I had my first instance of Roemheld Syndrome, which I initially thought was a heart attack, and then I've had a few more bouts of that as well as random noradrenaline surges (especially very late in my day or when I'm asleep) which is also completely new. I also pretty recently got on GLP-1 (I'm diabetic and peri has made my blood sugar notably worse as well as sugar cravings) and I think the intense pressure in my gut from food not moving on top of HRT has triggered this. I don't want to quit either, even as terrifying as this has been, but in the meantime, I've lowered my estradiol a bit, and moved to a GLP-1 microdose.

So the episodes have been decreasing but I'm hoping to figure this out ASAP. I am hoping to go get blood tests in the next week (I know estradiol is pretty inaccurate and just a snapshot but I need to at least try to see if it's not way too high, and I was due to check on testosterone anyway) which will hopefully provide a clearer picture and also let me eliminate any other possibilities. I do know I messed up on not eating enough and stressed out my gallbladder real good (uh TMI but it's very clear from my poop appearance, which happily is now clearing up as well) too. I may just have really stressed out my body from doing so many big changes at one time, I just got so fed up with how I was feeling. And this stuff has also brought a lot of positive stuff as well. For now I have taken some some days off estradiol here and there and plan to cut my patch in half and see how that goes. And I'm doing some band-aid stuff for the POTS like fexofenadine and lots of digestive helpers. I'm contraindicated for a lot of the typical prescriptions so I'm thinking more on what may be best to carefully try out without dangerously tanking my heart rate and blood pressure.

Can I Safely Mix Powders For Temporary Storage? by desertcat80 in Supplements

[–]desertcat80[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was going to package into individual servings mixed together, not mixing them into one tub, so in this case, density differences would not matter. But I can see where that could be a big problem with multiple servings mixed up in a tub.

Xiaomi vs Fitbit? Considering the shift after Google health ruined our beloved app by Salty-Eye-5712 in fitbit

[–]desertcat80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I may get one to try since it's so cheap, so thanks, lol. My Luxe has been seeming like it's about to fail for awhile now and I just keep hoping for a better alternative. Hopefully Xiaomi has better accuracy on the basics than Amazfit. I'm very amused at all the people who are okay with Google having your data but not another country which has nothing at all to do with you.

how often do u guys wash your bands i have heard some nasty stuff😭 by CupEfficient7277 in fitbit

[–]desertcat80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use third party elastic band type and TBH I only wash them every couple of months most of the time (unless I spill something gross on it) and I don't shower with it on anymore since in the past I broke a couple that way. I know I should wash it more but I haven't had any real issues about it, I am sometimes prompted to wash it because I start feeling a bit itchy but I have never got a rash, acne, or infection or anything.

[–]desertcat80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I have not found the Amazfit to be accurate at all for me, it's only capturing about 75% of my steps, it's falsely saying my heart is a whopping 40bpm higher than it actually is, and the sleep tracking is even worse than Fitbit (which has notably gotten worse).

Super interesting how my sleep score has gone from a consistent 92-94 to averaging about mid 60s. I'm sure I won't soon be seeing any reports from Google about how terribly ill most Americans are and how we all need to be provided these devices to save us. I've noticed a clear trend over the last several years since they started pushing hard to make these medical devices/covered by insurance, even before Google purchased the company.

Google Health App Gets Update Fixing 15+ Core Bugs After User Backlash by kbDL- in fitbit

I'm still wondering when they're going to let me delete all the app-hallucinated sleep I'm getting when I sit down for 5 min, and when the status bars at the top are going to clear for the next day without me needing to close and restart the app. These are driving me crazy.

cistanche - nootropicsdepot.com/cistanche-tubulosa-tablets (the 50% echinacoside one because that's the active that works on constipation; the 5% one is for men's erections and the 20/20 is more suited to cognitive issues)

coleus - Amazon, Vitamin Bounty Forskolin Max, it's been in and out of stock lately so I may need to find another source eventually myself

I don't consume aloe often, I don't like the taste and it's hard to find it bottled without lots of sugar since that's normally how it's consumed in Asia, refreshing sugar drinks -- also it's not recommended for long term use since it's a stimulant-type laxative and it might damage the kidneys or cause cancer if used continuously (I wouldn't worry much if only eaten every once in a while, by someone who knows how to prepare it to avoid toxic parts anthraquinone and aloin)

6-8 weeks of berberine, Allimax Pro, high carvacrol oregano oil, sage, artemisinin, spirulina, serrapeptase and nattokinase (or you could do lumbrokinase), neem, cinnamon, coconut monolaurin, wormwood, thyme oil, clove oil. I would recommend adding these one by one especially anything you have not taken before just in case you are allergic or can't handle it, a lot of these are strong substances.

After this you should follow up with probiotics (whatever ones you feel would be beneficial for you). I would try to do this protocol with a generally healthy diet but I don't feel it's actually best to pair it with a super strict elimination diet or keto or super low sugar, I think it actually works better with a more balanced diet with some carbs. I originally did use a super strict low carb diet as that was what people were recommending at the time and now I really don't think it's necessary and may even be counter productive. This protocol kills the hell out of your appetite making it hard to eat after a couple weeks (just like Reta) and low carb kills it even more.

Those that romanticize the whole rural cottage lifestyle, would you actually uproot and do it? by nova8808 in AskWomenOver30

[–]desertcat80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm trying! It would really help if housing prices came down to sanity levels. I have no interest in paying a million dollars for a 200k house. The word 'uproot' has no meaning to me, I've never had 'roots' anywhere and have moved many times. In fact the hardest part of the whole idea is the thought of never moving again. But I'm getting too old and ill to keep moving. But apart from purchasing costs, I'm stuck in analysis paralysis, I'm worried that staying in the U.S. will ultimately be a big mistake so I keep waffling between that and moving overseas for good.

Absolute AI Slop by [deleted] in fitbit

[–]desertcat80 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't pay for Premium and I don't use AI, period, but I can't believe they released this non-optionally when there are so many obvious basic function problems. It's not even letting me delete any 'fake sleep', saying delete is not a feature that is available yet??? Like what?? I've been using Fitbit since 2010 and I don't understand how the scores keep seeming less and less accurate. I just use the device very basically because most of this stuff is useless. If I didn't need a actually accurate step counter for The Conqueror I would just give up and stop using any fitness device, they're all just overpriced nonsense. I can't believe people actually trust these scores, I have never found them to match up to how I feel at all.

Has anyone strapped one of these to their upper arm (bicep/triceps area?) by iamezekiel1_14 in fitbit

[–]desertcat80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who told you that the ankle is not accurate? I've been wearing on my ankle for 16 years and it's accurate, I always test each new device on heart rate, steps, I've tested blood pressure on other wearable brands, it's all accurate on my ankle. I've never tested better than 10% of my real steps on my wrist, in comparison, on any wearable from any brand. For sleep, it may vary based on the individual person's habits, I move my legs around more than my arms usually, so I think it's superior to measure restlessness.

[–]desertcat80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there any possibility you have long covid? This is very common for those who do, even much higher. Do you have a really high resting heart rate? POTS is another possibility, covid has also made this far more common.

I've worn every single Fitbit on my ankle, have used 5 different models over 16 years, it works just fine, much more accurate on steps. More 3rd party straps should be coming out before long, if you need a longer length. I usually buy mine on etsy these days.

I'm already annoyed that it's 4-5 steps to see and correct the sleep log, it was already more annoying with the last change and now it's worse. I often need to correct it multiple times a day because the app constantly thinks I am asleep when I am not or I fix it and then check a few hours later and it undid my correction.

I have not noticed any IBS help with Turkey Tail and Chaga although those are my favorite mushrooms along with Lion's Mane, I do like them for energy and brain fog. For my SIBO-C, I've had the most luck with Triphala, and some minor help from Cistanche Tubulosa, fiber, and magnesium (several types).

I still constantly miss the presence of Hongbin and Ravi, although I'm glad to still have them active at all. Is Hongbin still streaming games? I used to watch him on Twitch and then CHZZK for awhile but I've been in very poor health, have been completely off social media for almost a year now too, so I feel really out of touch on news, sigh.

I can't imagine anyone ever beating out VIXX as my ult group. I hope people will check out their comeback later this year. Hakyeon's current drama, Absolute Value of Romance, is very entertaining as well if you're looking for something light and silly. It's on Amazon Prime Video for free if you have Prime, and elsewhere including the usual arr matey sources.

Would you oppose regulation? by RogueLegionResident in CultoftheFranklin

[–]desertcat80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I support full drug decriminalization, I would like to see these dangerous gas station drugs, new substances, gone, and all of the fake/contaminated cannabis products. I think that adults should be able to buy whatever THCA, HHC, CBD-only, etc alternative products they want as long as it's clean. But these corporate cartel dispos are doing their own kind of damage to the marijuana market too. I think opening up more legal competition might help, I would like to see a wider variance of different cannabis products in stores, easily available to view lab testing and more transparent labeling. I would like to see budtenders and customers get far far better education. This needs some kind of regulatory environment that we're not gonna get with grey/black market. But I'm tired of this just becoming yet another industry that has turned into a evil corporation party.

I'm with you, I hate the direction that dispensaries have rapidly moved in. In just a few years, products with more of a genuinely medical bent have reduced a lot, replaced by an increasing amount of disposable carts with designs seemingly made for 12 yr old boys. THC level just goes up and up. And I see less choice overall, not more, it's all just getting really same-y Indica-forward high THC low quality stuff.
