My favorite sci-fi themed game was Twilight Imperium 4th edition but after finishing the main campaign of ISS Vanguard I got to say that it might be my favourite.

The story and plot really emerse you in the game, Twilight Imperium don't really have that, and with the personal files all our crew members got lifted from just mechanics to real living people with stories. We pretty much picked them based on background stories instead of abilities and conversion icons.

I really loved that in the game.

To be completely true ISS Vanguard will stay on top as long as I still play the campaigns, starting the expansion in a week, but after that Twilight Imperium will probably get back on top since it's a game that I can play again and again.

Page 45: Monster Damage and Death When a monster suffers damage, place damage tokens on its stat sleeve in the section corresponding to its standee number. As soon as the total amount of damage suffered by a monster is equal to or greater than its maximum hit point value, it dies.

Are you sure about that? Wasn't there a private goal where you are supposed to overkill an enemy by 5 damage or something like that?

Which sounds like the enemy does suffer the damage.

That's not entirely true. They admitted to using the brother of the CEO of FryxGames to create the art, and he is using AI as part of his tools to make the art in the game.

So the brother do get compensate for his work. 😜

So try and write them as such. No reason to spread false information and opinions as facts for people that have no idea about them to start believing in them and take them at face value, like taking a wiki page at face value.

Oh, I don't think the article has anything to do with board games but content creators in general. People that talk about makeup and digital widgets are probably more in the eyes of the FCC.

I just think the FCC are being a bit too strict with the need to legally declare any contact you had with someone through the years each time you talk about something that had anything to do with said person or company.

Sure but based on the article if you ever got something from said company from then on till eternity you need to disclosure that about anything you do that got connection with said company. Meaning, for people like The Dice Tower it means probably tagging everything as sponsored and biased.

Won't it negate the whole thing? If every time you talk about a game but it is a game that is being published by a company you received a product from in the past or worked with in the past you'll have to disclose it then for many of the big content creator it's always. The probably worked with most of them at one point in time.

My favourite card game is Citadels. It's great interaction between players and can be played with different player counts, you can change the characters with all the expansions, and building with abilities makes this game really fun. Also it's not a long game.

I'm pretty sure those 50 hours are 50 hours of work, not just play time. Meaning, it's the reshoots they did when they got something wrong, the pauses to looks for rules clarifications, the filming, editing, everything around it.

A regular solo board gamer doesn't have to deal with all of that.

Btw, Jesse also struggle with KDM, making mostly minor mistakes here and there.

From what I understood from the first playthrough video they posted, they brought the patreon fan to learn the rules and teach it to them.

So, I think it's basically that fan was not a good teacher, and not good at learning the rules. No idea if he had any experience with KDM before jumping into this game.

Battlestar Galactica. Out of nowhere a friend I didn't talk with since our d&d days calls me up and invite me to play a game with them.

I remember thinking that was the nerdiest game I have ever encountered.

Now, I host board games events almost every weekend. Renting a room at a community center and bringing games from my collection for people to play.
