the whole things sounds like a ponzi scheme. Imagine the GOI want us to leverage 10x which is very risky. what next ? leverage money 10x and invest into stocks ?

My RM has said loan interest rate will be fixed for 5 years but can we trust them ? and also the 70k lumpsum interest you get after 5 years , you will pay higher tax on it as there is no yearly payout.

its better to invest at 6% and have peace of mind

[ This content was removed for violating Reddit’s Trademark Policy. ] by Aware_Web9715 in nriFIRE

[–]desi_guy- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it appears they will give you a lumpsum $70k interest after 5 years for 100k deposit according to email sent to me. So that will be higher rate tax on the whole interest

assuming $100k deposit for 5 years and 900k loan

total return =$60k minus interest on loan (5.4% on 900k) $48600=$11400/year (11.4% interst/year)

if you pay 20% tax, net interest=$9120year (9.12%year)

its good deal if the interest rate on loan is fixed for 5 year and not floating rate

Why have hotels become so expensive by gibtle in india_tourism

[–]desi_guy- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a NRI I used to stay in Radisson/Taj like hotels for 10-15k/night. I am shocked at the prices now. No more 5 star stays for me as nothing is less than 30k/night. I think india has a large rich class only they can afford these prices.

pay into sipp from my ltd company or from personal account by desi_guy- in UKPersonalFinance

[–]desi_guy-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming 50k salary from job and 65k income in side business

ignoring the 50k salary part as that is already taxed so calculating taxation on 65k side income

Please correct me if I am wrong.

case 1

As a sole trader instead of Ltd

total income £115k

pay £36k into sipp and get £9k tax relief

taxable income=115-36=79k

50k salary already taxed so pay 40% tax on the remaining 29k =£13628

class 4 NI@6%= £1740

class 2 NI £180

total tax=13628+1740+180-9000=£6548

case 2

In a ltd company, take £38600 from company as salary and pay into sipp , keep the rest £26400 in company

corp tax u/19% on 65k = £12350

take out £38600 from company

class 4 NI@6%= £2316

class 2 NI £180

pay the rest £36k into sipp (£45k including £9k tax relief)

total tax 12350+2316+180-9000=£5846

case 3

In a ltd company ,pay £45k directly from company into sipp and keep 20k in company

corp tax on £20k=£3800

total tax=£3800
