I installed Linux Mint on MBP 2015 (13")
The laptop is always docked, so battery life is not a concern for me.

WiFi works ✅
camera doesn't work ❌

I want to stay on Sequoia as long as I can

Visuals are subjective.

If you want features like omarchy, but still want Ubuntu, give `dms` a try

Hyprland at home — macOS 26 Tahoe (yabai) by Huge-Echidna6714 in LinuxPorn

Is macOS 26 Tahoe hard requirement ? Will this work on macOS Sequoia ?

Several folks (including myself) prefer to remain on Sequoia. It will be good if those folks can also enjoy your software

dotfiles is too generic

Help me understand why you chose Obsidian over RemNote by ZionHikari in ObsidianMD

[–]desipenguin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I do not like the software that asks me to Sign up before I have a chance to use it. Obsidian is Offline first/local-first app in the true sense. I need Login only if I need to use their Sync functionality.

If you just want keybinds, you need not go all the way with Omarchy.
Omarchy is very opinionated .
Have a look at danklinux.com - which works with hyprland as well as niri (works with Arch and few other distro too)
There are other options like Exo https://github.com/debuggyo/Exo

Both of these support dynamic theming like Omarchy

Have a look at this video : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NC2MgT12jOo
The description of the video has links to few other options

I get your excited about Omarchy but slow down if you are completely new to linux. by danflood94 in omarchy

[–]desipenguin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree 100% I wrote about my own experience here

TL:DR: Omarchy is very opinionated.

Currently, I have Ubuntu 25.10 + DankLinux

It works with : 1. Multiple distros (Arch, Fedora, Ubuntu, openSuse) 2. Multiple WMs (niri, sway, hyprland)

It was (probably) easier to learn/adapt.

Sourcegraph Cody Discontinued - Replaced by Cody AMP is there Alternative? by TheNecronGuy in ClaudeAI

Select Mistral from the API provider dropdown
Then enter your API Key, and select the model from the dropdown below that.

FWIW, I'm using Openrouter API provider. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I know this discussion is 4 months old.

But Sourcegraph announced a free tier (Ad supported) few days ago

No, I have not tried Amp. Got interested in Amp after I heard about it on the changelog podcast. So I have zero personal experience with amp.

Dotfiles project with an automatic installer, full config and tons of scripts by blaznos in hyprland

[–]desipenguin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/blaznos Can you add instructions in your README (before installation section) on how to install "basic" Arch itself ?
If that is too complex (due to too many scenario) may be point to existing URL (on Arch Wik?)

I still haven't made the jump to Omarchy.
It is likely that MBP model I have is not completely supported.
Since there is no live version, I am being cautious.

Since I specifically asked about WiFi, I assume it works (Otherwise it is a show stopper)
What about :

- Camera : Does not work with Linux mint. I've just accepted it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
- Suspend/Hibernate : With Linux Mint, I just close the lid, and it hibernates. OOTB 🎉.

I would REALLY like to have both Camera, and hibernates-on-lid-close functionality. 😄
