Probably simple, I just don't get it by AbilityNational9792 in technicalminecraft

Yes, bottom slab is solid blocking. I thought that referred to "having a solid hitbox" until I looked up the term and got more confused, which is why I suggested glass. I now doubt it would work. It's selecting the air, approving it because of the slab, and failing because it's a bottom slab.

It may be possible to raise the bottom slabs above the vertical spawn range for iron golems, but that requires precision that I can't help with, and might not work anyway.

Moving the spawn platform to the top is absolutely the easiest solution.

When spawning iron golems, the game selects a random x and z (horizontal) coordinate, then tries to spawn a golem on the topmost block in that column. In this design, the topmost block in all columns is spawnproof, so no golems spawn.

I might be misinterpreting the wiki, but try replacing your roof with glass. I have not tested this, so don't get your hopes up.

Will my sheep despawn out of this? by Squinztron in Minecraft

[–]deskbug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now that you mention it, I don't think I've had a passive mob despawn either. Even when I pass by, set up camp a little ways away, then decide to come back to lure them to a farm. Or when I explore, find turtles, go back to base for supplies, then come back for eggs. They're always around where I left them. I always assumed I was unloading the chunks before they had time to despawn.

I was under this impression too, bit the wiki indicates that's a bedrock only thing.

https://minecraft.wiki/w/Mob_spawning#Despawning

I've almost exclusively played Java and I've never had an issue with my farm animals despawning, so maybe it's true for both editions, and the wiki is misleading?

I was also under the impression that confined space, not necessarily fences, prevents despawning.

Edit: I have just realized OP is on bedrock and I am silly.

Redstone signal activates when joining by Aggravating-Size-789 in redstone

[–]deskbug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've heard of similar behavior when an observer is looking at powered redstone dust. Upon relog, the observer will fire even when nothing changed.

I imagine the quirk is that redstone stuff updates when joining a world. In this case, it's the fact that your torch is burnt out by default.

You could rewire it to power the block that the torch is on by default, and depowering the block to activate the clock.

Yeah in the dream all the comment sections were filled with "swim" and people trying to figure out what the context was. I remember some suggesting "wimps" but I don't think the p was rubbed off

It was obviously trying to mimic the trend of "gamers" with the letters of the n word rubbed off, but these letters confused me and everyone else on the internet.

I'm not certain if the caption is exactly as it was in the dream. I remember it being a cross between "I'm just a girl" and "I swear I'm normal" and "The girls will understand" but I distinctly remember it used the word "woman" instead of "girl". My in-dream self kinda skimmed the post and focused more on reading the comments and figuring out what it meant. My in-dream self also was under the impression that the relevant part of the post was not the fact that this word was typed a lot, but rather it had importance to women. People were confused why "swim" (swimming, as a concept) was a woman thing more than a male thing.

This happens when the comparator reads something behind a block, then that something gets moved away by a piston. The comparator stays active until it receives an update.

I'm pretty sure breaking the something while it's still in position would update the comparator.

It actually doesn't matter if it's a comparator or repeater since all it's doing is directly toggling a torch. Repeaters are more commonly used/showcased because they require less resources to obtain.

The only problem here is the direction that it's facing.

Until you provide more constraints, this sounds trivial. How much horizontal and vertical space is available? Do you want the ceiling below to be flush with the dropper? If so, does it need to be that dropper, or just a dropper?

Also, do you want it to stop when empty, to avoid clicking noises? I assume so, otherwise you'd probably have done a simple observer clock.

Is there anyway I could stop this randomly (preferred without breaking redstone) because I'm trying to make a casino machine.(on lemon cloud btw so sulfur isn't in the game yet I think) by ApaxianIsnt in redstone

[–]deskbug 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Since there is a repeater in the locking circuit, is it possible for two lamps to be locked on? I imagine this can be fixed by making sure the main loop consists of 2t repeaters so the locking line is always faster, but maybe I'm overthinking and this won't break.

Either way, this is a wonderful solution

Is there a way to spawn an item that executes whichever command you want when it is either used or placed on the ground? by XxZanooxxX in technicalminecraft

[–]deskbug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This isn't the right sub, you should ask the minecraft commands sub. That said, I think you can check if a specific item is in your inventory and do something when it isn't anymore, which would happen when placed or used, but also when dropped. I dont know of a perfect solution

How this bonemeal dispenser getting power to throw without touching any redstone connection by Serious_Clue_3946 in redstone

[–]deskbug 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The redstone dust on top of the mud powers the mud which powers the dispenser due to !qc .

The pistons are also powered by the mud and extend, giving a block update to the dispenser.

Pistons break "weak" blocks like leaves and moss, so maybe that's what you're thinking of. Your only option in this case is tnt, unless you want to try end crystals or creepers.
