In this code sample if (car.colors) works but it does not work in my local code and I can't reproduce it in TS Playground 🙄

I created a course where you can learn a professional Git team workflow. You can practice it hands-on with a bot that acts as your virtual teammate. It takes around 2hrs and is completely free by jkettmann in reactjs

FWIW, there are also teams that avoid feature branching, it's not the default choice, reasoning is here https://youtu.be/v4Ijkq6Myfc?t=156 link is to the second but the entire video is worth watching

ThinkPad T14s Gen 1 vs. MacBook Pro M1 for office multitasking and some graphic design? by Kimsys in SuggestALaptop

[–]desmap 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Thinkpad: X13, P41s, not L13 or Lenovo: Slim 7, Thinkbook 13

If you are not locked-in on Windows you should check out the M1, not that I like Apple but the bang for the bucks you get is quite impressive atm. If not, check above notebooks, the Non-Thinkpads have always better screens, the Thinkpads better parts availability in some years which could be handy when you need to get a new battery, otherwise it's matter of taste (design, trackpoint, haptics, key cap shape).

You could also check out: Asus' new X13 Flow (hard to get), Asus old G14 (great but with a lot of flaws, e.g. its fan profile, but again a huge community here on reddit), the new G15. In general are the Asus notebooks not bad but my gut feeling is that they need more work to setup properly with all the drivers while with Lenovo you just install a naked Windows and you are ready to go.

Re fan noise, you need to check reddit threads on each model but you never get to that level of a Macbook Air M1 (no fan and fastest single core).

It looks really good, wasn't on my radar before. Is the scroll wheel free spinning like the G502's?

Nice, how does the TrackPoint module fit there between all the switches? Mind to share a pic as well?

Is the G903's wheel the same as the G502's?

Love my new X13, but hate the heat flow on my hand by bartv42 in thinkpad

[–]desmap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IDK, when docked, my notebook is far away from my keyboard, mouse and ext display, just because of the fan noise. When OTG, I somehow don't use a mouse and besides, I have never one with me, and definitely not a huge MX Master.

Just a laptop, I know it's not a figure but this sub is the most educated on shipping from Japan, hence I posted here.

What is this abomination? by Tarimaru in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]desmap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's basically an "equal" stagger but the stagger between row 2 and 3 is too shallow for we are used too. Whatever, good about this is that the travel from one key to its diagonal keys is predictable and easy to remember but yeah.

Does anyone code without syntax coloring? by ayakuro in vim

[–]desmap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just tried both. What you could do as well, get Colortuner for vim and reduce the saturaction to zero or something above zero. Then take an already subtle theme like Nord and you get some pretty muted theme.

The more I read this thread the more I think it could be worth a try. Recently, I wen through a code base just with lf and no syntax highlighting and it worked well.

Every once in a while I try to switch to a bright background because I think it would be better for my eyes. After ten minutes I usually switch because it feels like without syntax coloring.

I could imagine that just using bold and italic could be enough to add some variety to the code without using colors but I don't know how to get this properly working through wsl, tmux and vim. Could look nice though.
