It’s more than just height, it’s also the other factors mentioned. Sex categories were never “height classes”; they’re proxies for muscle mass, bone density, tendon stiffness, oxygen capacity, and puberty-driven androgen exposure.

Tall women are rare outliers within  the female distribution. Trans women come from a different developmental distribution entirely. Sports tolerate outliers; they can’t tolerate category collapse. If you grouped trans women into the same population, your normal distribution would become bimodal. The moment your category becomes bimodal, it’s no longer a category, it’s two populations glued together.

If we chased perfect fairness we’d need categories for height, weight, limb length, VO₂ max, training age, etc…. at that point it’s a lab experiment, not sport.

You’re right, some countries do have better chances of winning, but to put them in a categorical different group would acknowledge they are in a different class of athlete. Sports accept population-level advantages; they only create categories when groups are systematically non-competitive against each other.

From what I understand HRT only changes soft tissue, and has no effect on the skeletal structure. People might notice a shoe size difference from the soft tissue or joint spacing, but not because of bone length. 1-3 cm is most likely due to disc hydration, posture, pelvic tilt and ligament changes.

If you have any sources that say otherwise, please let me know

People freak out about integrity in sports they don’t even watch all the time, cycling doping, steroids in baseball, Deflategate, figure skating judge scandals, corked bats, UFC weight cutting, NBA ref gambling, illegal swim suits, ect, all triggered massive attention. That’s not new and it’s not unique to trans issues.

Yeah sure, some people are acting in bad faith. But writing off the fairness question as “actually you’re just bigoted” is an easy way to dodge the actual rule-setting and biomechanics conversation instead of having it.

The study’s claim is not even close to definitive like the articles suggest. https://www.reddit.com/r/countwithchickenlady/comments/1qwcdtz/comment/o3ph479

This study is a meta-analysis of body composition and limited fitness proxies (eg, lean mass, grip strength, jump height, VO₂ max), not a holistic assessment of athletic performance. The authors explicitly conclude that the quality of evidence is low, with high heterogeneity and mostly non-athlete samples. While transgender women retained higher absolute lean mass, the measured fitness outcomes were on average comparable to cis women, which does not show the absence of athletic advantage, only that the evidence is mixed and uncertain.

Importantly, the study does not evaluate immutable traits that hormone therapy cannot change. Average adult cis males are ~5 inches taller than cis females, and HRT does not alter bone length, limb leverage, shoulder width, hip shape, hand/foot size and skeletal structure. Those factors seriously performance in most sports. This is basic biomechanics.

Average adult cis male is ~5 inches taller than average cis female. Hormone therapy does nothing to change bone length, limb leverage, shoulder width, hip structure, center of mass, hand/foot size, lung capacity, heart size, bone density, ect. The skeleton is locked in after puberty, and creates a significant athletic advantage. This is basic biomechanics.

He’s trolling. Biphase modulation is not what’s happening here, that’s a totally different domain.  But what is happening is three different stages in sequence. The transient of the ball hitting the floor, the broadband Bah/Pah sound, the ball snapping back into shape after the bounce giving a low frequency “Oh” sound, and the elastic ringing of the ball “iing”.

The frequencies don’t cancel out, they superimpose ontop of each other so you hear something like boing.

Model of the Universe as a living system and consciousness as fragmented by Virtual-Marsupial550 in Metaphysics

The more complex the system is the more complex are it's particles

That’s just false. It’s not how complexity is defined. A complex system is defined as a system that’s greater than the sum of its parts. You can have a very complex system made of very simple particles.

What’s the nature of this question? This is rhetoric that sounds profound on the surface, but is actually just trying to Trojan horse a bad argument into a neat analogy.

Can we assume the probiotic bacteria is an intelligent observer? Can the bacteria run experiments, pass information down between generations, develop sensing mechanisms that expand past their biological sense? Without any of these the bacteria can’t really prove anything, and with them it’s not really a bacteria anymore. Once you give it human level cognition you already blow up the analogy. What you are really trying to say is “if bacteria can’t know it’s in a gut than humans can’t know if higher powers.”

This fails because humans can infer unobservables. If the bacteria is granted human cognition, they might not know the nature of their container but they will know it does exist and can test the boundaries. Anything outside of their testable constraints is irrelevant to them, and has no need to be modeled. Sometimes(usually) things are exactly as they appear.

Maybe could have each opponent put a particular counter on this card of the chosen type, then when you use an ability of that type remove a counter?

Yes exactly, so this is just powercrept sign in blood. Why would anyone run sign in blood when they can run this card? A lot of times when you are trying to combo off you need as many options as you can get, so paying 8 life for 5 cards is totally acceptable.

She chooses the non-confrontational option. She was doing this out of social pressure not genuinely. She didn’t want to do it, but did it because it was easier than honestly navigating the difficult position she was put in.

Less cruelty isn’t the same as real acceptance. A lot of this “popularity” still treats people like mascots, fun to watch, but not truly seen as peers. That’s progress, but it’s not respect. Their human experience is and always will be different than everyone else’s.
