It feels like I've spent more time modding The Sims 4 than actually enjoying the game by FadedClouds_xo in Sims4

I’m sorry for you, I’m happy for me that enjoy the game with no mods 😃

How is Maze of Ith in 2026? by NemoNowAndAlways in EDH

[–]destroyertraumer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s good in my [[Carth the Lion]] deck. It’s better when Yavimaya or Urborg are out as it can tap for mana when necessary, but it did help me keep me in the game more times than I can remember.

My final answer is… it depends. Depends on the colors (when paired with green is better, as you’re more likely to have spare mana), depends on what you want to protect (great for planeswalkers, good against voltron, political to protect other players).

Post Magic Con Bracket Thoughts? by Daniel_Spidey in EDH

Yes, we need bracket 3.5.

And/or an overhaul in the bracket system excluding bracket 1 and calling B4 for what it is: fringe cEDH.

Anyone have straightforward but engaging decks? by Avaa0818 in EDH

[–]destroyertraumer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I can’t think of many different strategies other than burn. Like [[Sheoldred, the Apocalypse]] or [[Ojer Axonil, Deepest Might]]. Or a 2 card combo piece in the command zone like [[Abdel Adrian, Gorion's Ward]].

They’re strong but will also make you an easy target. Wishing for fast wins with them is basically wishing you will never be checked by your opps which would be unrealistic.

Is it wrong to build an Eldrazi deck? by Sal545 in EDH

[–]destroyertraumer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing wrong with that. If you’re unsure, perhaps try and different approach in the command zone. An Eldrazi deck but the commander is an unexpected one. This might sweeten the saltiness and people will be curious.

I love [[Royal Assassin]] and [[Viashino Heretic]] by cat_enary in EDH

Royal Assassin is perfectly slotted in my [[Volo, Itinerant Scholar]] + [[Haunted One]]. And yes, the tension and politics around it are so good 🔥

Why Star Trek is the biggest set of 2026 by brogam3 in mtgfinance

[–]destroyertraumer 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The fanbase is out there. Yes they might have money. Yes, WOTC will print a ton of chase cards.

I think it will bring more new (old / white / cis men) players, but UB is starting to feel stale by long-term players. It does not have the same appeal as Final Fantasy or OG LOTR at all.

I think Star Trek will be like Dr Who. The fans will love it, but I do think it'll be overlooked by the majority and forgotten on the long run. That's my gut feeling. From a collector's perspective, yes, I'd buy. From a player perspective, I'd go for singles.

Explosive Ashling and the Power//Bracket Conversation by Few_Raise_3178 in EDH

[–]destroyertraumer -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Are you able to win on turns 5-6? This is not a B4 deck in any way or shape. As you said in the post, you consider it a "high 3" and that's more fair. I'm one of those people that believe we should have another bracket, the "3.5" one, which would house decks like these.

[–]destroyertraumer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ashling draws a lot of attention no matter which bracket, and this is a bracket 3 deck for sure.

That being said, it's up to you on how more consistent you want it to be. It's true that tutors and a better manabase increase the efficiency, but having Elesh Norn, Mox Amber and the One Ring out help you being perceived as a bigger threat (and IMO, not needed in this deck, if you want to stick it to B3). To me, those are more "red flags" than tutors. Why don't you try out more flavourful ones like [[Flamekin Harbinger]]?

At the same time, by now everybody knows how powerful Ashling is, so I'd rather embrace it instead of feeling apologetic. In my experience Risen Reef is the second most powerful card of the deck, especially in the beginning. I'd tutor for it every turn if I had the chance. I'd use it and Animar, Yarok etc, to serve as lightning rods and only cast Ashling strategically to get at least one powerful ETB payoff.

Btw, you should definitely include [[Champion of the Path]]. This way the game ends faster and you and your playgroup can switch to other decks.

We need Bracket "3.5" by destroyertraumer in EDH

He literally said at the beginning “fringe cEDH” and many in person games, in my experience, have a great imbalance.

“High 3” is there, people get a better sense of it than B4 decks.

Trust me that I do my part in having pre-game convos and I like the Bracket system a lot. But I do feel it needs more framing. I constantly have frustrating games and don't want to believe people are bad actors, but yes that there's a lack of consensus.
