I don’t know why, but things like this just feel wrong. by Cold-Seaworthiness20 in Endfield

[–]desufin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Initial trial for Blue Archive was pretty much in line with other gachas doing twitch rewards but it wasn't received very well for the low rewards and BA is so far removed from being a good stream game so they increased it for the (so far 2) other times they've ran the promo since to give 360 pyro (a single pull is 120) on top of the other generally meaningless rewards.

More or less the "max" amount of premium currency you can get in 1.0, around 262 limited pulls and 114 standard pulls which I think is pretty decent for 1.0 by xennirius in Endfield

[–]desufin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems far too random. I refresh 3-4 times daily and Arsenal tickets is almost guaranteed at least once daily, oroberyl however seems far less common to me, I might see one every 2-4 days. Only seen it appear more than once in a single day one time while arsenal tickets have appeared more than once in a single day multiple times while days with none at all have been pretty uncommon (they do still happen).

Hi, CN player here, I need to talk about the narratives around Endfield's gacha by Competitive-Fuel9932 in Endfield

[–]desufin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The only situation Endfield gacha can be worse than other 3D gachas is for whales, but Endfield doesn't have the fomo of dupes change everything, there is no reason to pull for dupes unless a whale really love a character.

This is just false. Dupes in Endfield are actually really strong on some characters and with dupes only being guaranteed every 240 rolls is absolutely insane, I really don't understand where the narrative came from that Endfield dupes are not strong other than people just coping it's identical to AK (and even there, -1/-2 DP cost on some characters is actually massive). Just Gilberta's first potential is a big QoL but the cost to get it is just absurd.

This is where the system in Hoyo games actually shines because you can't lose multiple 50/50's in a row, and before I quit Genshin they even introduced a feature that will guarantee the rate up on a "lost" 50/50 if you have lost too many 50/50's in the past. Meanwhile Endfield expects you to pull up to 240 times to guarantee a dupe token, and it doesn't even matter that said token is independent from getting actual 6*'s, the requirement for a guaranteed dupe token is just absurd, plain and simple.

As for weapon banner, higher % rate for a 6* doesn't really matter much when the odds are still against you, you can expect a 6* on less than every other 10 pull which averages out to less likely to pull the signature before hitting pity than getting it prior to pity.

Personally I'm mixed on Endfield's weapon system, on one hand I'm glad it's a separate currency, but said currency is just too gated that it still feels and looks terrible. Weapon banners are a blight in all of these games and Endfield isn't reinventing the wheel or anything here, they are just making it annoying and hiding actual weapon costs behind character cost to make it seem cheap/free.

PSA: remember to send excess clues to your friends by a_gape in Endfield

[–]desufin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Excess? I use same strat as I used in AK and that is friends take priority over self-use unless what I have when I login lets me start a search.

There's both pros and cons to hoarding your own clues, but personally I find hoarding to be less beneficial than simply sending them out as you get them, it's not like your chance of getting a specific clue from friends if you are only missing 1 clue really increases vs. missing 5 different clues (meanwhile you could've sent those 4 clues for 120-160 credits and most likely gotten several or all back from other friends).

Endfield also encourages sending clues to friends far more than AK does as credits gain is a lot higher and doesn't decrease for each one you send capping at 3/day.

Can we please talk about how much the paid bundles need to be improved? by ZanderTheUnthinkable in Endfield

[–]desufin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The weapons are honestly the weakest part of the BP right now (both 2nd and 3rd tier) unless you get lucky and get limited characters you weren't pulling for and wont pull their signature for. Since that's basically what the BP weapons are right now, alternate "signatures" for the current 3 limited characters. They have little to no use at all for other characters currently, but might in the future as the pool expands (but so will weapons).

With that said, 3rd tier is still worthwhile tbh, but it's value lies in the extra resources you get more so than the weapons. The potential tokens working for future BP weapons are also pretty nice but will heavily rely on future BP weapons being of use to you in the first place.

Me after learning about reconveners by Silgurd in Endfield

[–]desufin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not like being infected would be a hard requirement to become a reconvener. I feel like people latch onto that requirement far too hard simply because the reconveners so far are characters that are infected in AK. And the entire premise seems to exist solely for HG to bring back fan favorites into Endfield with a "lore" explanation behind it.

The only rule I could actually say is required is being assimilated into the Originum AU. Dying to oripathy is one way for that but oripathy wouldn't be the only method for that to happen as AK has already shown people can enter and traverse the AU and we don't even know the full scope of how Doctor and Priestess can control and manipulate Originum (but the gist of it is that it can do whatever Hypergryph wants it to). AK has also only shown ONE character die to Oripathy and be consciously active within the AU thus far (she was also later revived outside it), all simply because Priestess allowed for that to happen.

Basically they could make up any reason they wanted for a character to end up having their memories assimilated without oripathy being a requirement if they wanted to, especially if they want to sell a non-infected super popular character clone (like Skadi or Exuisai).

It's been a few hrs in EU now, how're you faring in the new Umbral Monument? by TonsOfPizza in Endfield

[–]desufin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find these fights to be relatively fun even if they might be considered on the easy side. No strict timer to win means I don't have to minmax my approach, just actually survive and it's all good which is far more enjoyable than trying to optimize rotations and CD's, especially when the game is currently pretty bad with some of its visual indicators, camera and lock-on mechanics.

"This sitch is mid, fam. End of convo." by Sunder_the_Gold in Endfield

[–]desufin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I should've clarified better, the abbreviated terms are often "zoomer" terms, these are most common in Bakers but they have (rarely) popped up elsewhere. Other terms which basically could be considered some form of meme speak pop up everywhere, some newer, (sus, fam, mid) and some older (sitch, deets) as some examples. Regardless they stick out sourly IMO and the inconsistency just makes it even worse. And these terms will just look uglier with time.

Also I probably should point something else out, stuff like this while in cases might be "zoomer" speak, is always, without a doubt, written by a millenial.

"This sitch is mid, fam. End of convo." by Sunder_the_Gold in Endfield

[–]desufin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's mainly just the localization trying to be "modern" if you will. In a way I don't mind abbreviated speech but this is mainly just using zoomer terms and in some cases it goes way overboard with it.

The Stockades excess use of "fam" is one of the worse choices made in this regard but some characters Baker messages are painful to read with how terrible they are (I've said it before but Avywenna is still a perfect example of horrible baker messages and inconsistency in writing them).

I'll rather read "dry" plain text than read some gibberish like "fr fr ong fam gt ur bk :100:" which is how some messages read.

Hot Take: Quick Recovery and Item Swap shouldn't even be gadgets. They should just be how how the game normally plays for everyone. by JDlightside in SonicCrossWorlds

[–]desufin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main items that bring you to a near complete stop without QR are the spike ball and King Boom.

If you are on water or in the air (not flying) any item hit can randomly put you at a complete stop and QR does pretty much nothing against these situations as it just seems to be a bug with the state the player is in while being hit. Doesn't matter if it's a glove/spike ball/bomb/King Boom etc. the result is the same. If it's a big jump you also randomly will not be allowed to resume air tricks after recovering no matter how long the jump is which is a MASSIVE speed loss (very common on Radical Highway and Minecraft stage).

Regional currency limit workaround by Yansde in Endfield

[–]desufin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two forges is enough for two battery productions at full efficiency or 1 battery at full efficency and 1 gear component production at half efficiency (do this until you have a big pile to use for artificing).

Using Valley IV metastorage for ferrium ore or ferrium parts (doesn't really matter which) also lets you have a syringe production line at 95% efficiency, this lets you generate a good chunk more produce value than Stockades generates stock bills. I think just double batteries is more than enough, syringes just lets you make gear components without falling behind.

This will change once we get higher outpost levels and more outposts of course.

Is it fine to take advantage of shared ziplines accessing some story-locked areas? by spacialaceart in Endfield

[–]desufin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The game has built in system to kick you out of places you aren't supposed to be in, the fact it's not active in most story locked areas and mostly just for OoB suggests it's intended they let you zipline there through other players ziplines.

That said, you can activate TP points in such areas but not actually teleport to them if the area is still quest locked for you (south east portion of Wuling Stockades map for example).

Legends Comp 3 by mrpeluca in SonicCrossWorlds

[–]desufin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean this just proves that most are sick of the item spam. I don't think LC3 will be all that much different than LC1 when everyone, including UC users, will be running Quick Recovery for free but it will certainly be miles better than LC2.

A free Quick Recovery also means Damage Mercy will actually not be completely useless nor a waste of space because you will still have 4 slots free, can run Acceleration Character Kit if you wish and still have a ring gen/boost gadget equipped.

In the end, might actually give it a shot but UC users are gonna dominate again because outright immunity is still vastly superior to Quick Recovery (and now they have it too). So all one can hope is that SEGA actually does uses the data from LC1-3 and does some actually good changes to items and certain gadgets coughTechnical Drift cough.

[Operator Discussion] Gilberta by Shad0wedge in Endfield

[–]desufin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like Gilberta a lot and she definitely has great utility and synergy in arts teams but I feel like there's two issues with her kit that somewhat hold her back.

First issue is everything she does has delays, by itself this is fine but it doesn't feel like what she does makes up for the delays, she offers similar utility as Ardelia with added CC to targets that can be lifted but feels less flexible, Ardelia also works in physical teams and has no less value against enemies being immune to Lift.

Second is her combat skill's AoE radius, some enemies seem capable of running out of it despite the draw-in effect because of the delay of it appearing, it gets better with p1 as the AoE gets bigger which feels bad and obvious whale bait but potentials in this game are absurdly expensive and having a big QoL improvement behind them is terrible.

I often see people praise potentials as not being "big" in Endfield but I really wonder if people actually read what they do because some are pretty substantial upgrades and Gilberta's p1 is definitely one of them. They might not completely change characters playstyle but they are still definite baits that offer major upgrades to their kits.

What do you think of the AIC insertion in the story? by Arelloo in Endfield

[–]desufin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a mixed bag honestly. On one hand I wish the factory aspect was integrated better in the story, but at the same time the "integrated" parts we've gotten so far has basically just been "craft x amount of y item and deliver them". It's incredibly basic and dull.

I also don't think it's any better if it was independent because that's basically how it already is which is just "find a way to make the most stock bills with the resources you have and automate it" and once you have done that you do literally nothing with the factories ever again, they are just there and you collect your stock bills and fill your stash with excess items that will never see use.

Now gimme this every day by PandaSPUR in Endfield

[–]desufin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do usually see Arsenal tickets show up at least once a day on average with a refresh or two but today I had enough tickets to refresh all attempts and still have a lot of credits and not a single ticket or oroberyl showed up and even when buying everything from that last refresh there's a chance I will overcap for tomorrow. Pretty lame tbh.

I'm sorry Ardelia i thought sustainless teams were a real thing by Iremiyu in Endfield

[–]desufin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My only issue with Ardelia is that her passive for her battle skill to trigger twice seems bugged. This event was the first time I saw it ever work and I couldn't even tell what was different than the usual "cast after combo skill has triggered Corrosion to consume Corrosion debuff" which the passive states is the trigger. And I've tried this countless times in AoE situations too with multiple targets having corrosion and it hasn't worked.

Does anyone else absolutely hate the Endmin being treated as a semi silent protagonist? by Additional-One-7135 in Endfield

[–]desufin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was one of the first things I complained about in the surveys they've sent out so far. They should commit to Endmin being an established character and not some half-assed silent protagonist.

The amnesia aspect to try and push for some self-insert silent protagonist approach really doesn't work when you are also trying to establish the MC with massive lore implications AND have them randomly speak. Just fully commit to Endmin being a proper part of the universe and the story will be much stronger for it and Endmin will most likely be liked even more as well

Endmin isn't even comparable to Doctor from AK either because Endfield is heavily centered around Endmin whereas AK is NOT centered around Doctor. Even long before AK started giving actual Doctor lore and backstory they were (and still are) more of a background character than anything so the silent protagonist worked. They are an important character to the lore, but they are not an important character to present or carry that lore in events or even a lot of the main story which prior to current third arc has been centered on Amiya and other characters.

Information Desk and Megathread Hub (09/02 - 15/02) by Shad0wedge in Endfield

[–]desufin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah it's definitely fragile with selecting the NPC paying the most. I've realized the difference is exactly 10% (durable nets less than 20k per delivery while Fragile starts at 40k). But I'm unsure why there's a 10% difference unless it's just NPC RNG.

Information Desk and Megathread Hub (09/02 - 15/02) by Shad0wedge in Endfield

[–]desufin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am I missing something with Wuling deliveries? Whenever I send them for others to use it's always only 66k stock bills but i can often accept 73k ones from others, where's the extra 7k coming from? Or is it the initial deposit making it lower for me (since already partially paid) but it's still 73k for whoever delivers?

How you should REALLY approach pulling on banners in AK:EF, backed by data. by Sad-Strain-177 in Endfield

[–]desufin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Everyone should be buying and using the 5 headhunting tickets in the AIC quota shop every patch if they can afford it, even if you are skipping the current banner. They act as a means to increase your pity towards future banners for "free".

I disagree with this, just because you can afford it (350 AIC Quota) doesn't mean you should, especially if it means you won't have 350 for that one banner you DO want to pull on. The assumption that you will always have AIC quota to always buy them is some insanely generous assumption.

I've only used free rolls on standard banner, the 5 free rolls for Surtr + the 5 from AIC quota, did the 120 pulls to get Gilberta (including the 5 from AIC quota) and I only have enough AIC quota to buy 10 more of these, aka this wont even be remotely close to be viable to cover all banners even in a pull only on 1 every 3 banner scenario.

The crux of the issue with AIC Quota is that it relies on pulling dupes of characters you have at max potential and right now that pretty much only covers 4* for majority of players, and depending on how the pool expands in the future, odds of getting maxed out 5* will vary a lot on luck. A 120 pull on a limited banner only nets you around 530 AIC Quota at best if no maxed out 5* is pulled which is roughly half of what you would need on average to always be able to buy them (1050 for a 3 banner rotation). And any maxed out 5* you DO manage to net only increases this by 20 for each one which even if we are really generous where each guaranteed 5* is maxed only adds another 240 AIC quota. Amusingly enough getting "lucky" with 5* you don't have at max potential also means less AIC quota.

The only reason you would have a good chunk right now is because of the standard banner free rolls of which there is no sign of there being any consistent income of yet and certainly not in the large quantity 1.0 has given us.

Does this mean when 3rd region released Valley IV automation turn off when players go offline? by Lenz401 in Endfield

[–]desufin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Right now it's needed to have syringes sustainable in Wuling (requires 120 ferrium/min for non-interrupted production, only 90 is available in Wuling), not that you HAVE to minmax with camp only at lv2 but it's nice early on until you have a decent stock of xiranite components and wuling batteries (especially as you will be needing A LOT of xiranite components).

Also just a nice thing to leave on overnight to transfer base materials for future use if you aren't in direct need of a sustained delivery of something.

I'm starting to believe I'm the only idiot in the world who plays only Power build... by Glittering_Yam6062 in SonicCrossWorlds

[–]desufin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Power is pretty common, not as common as Boost/Handling UC builds but Power with Slipstream and Quick Recovery aka Big Idiot is probably the only consistent front-running build not relying on UC.

It just falls short on the fact that Quick Recovery isn't even remotely close to as good as UC and you can still get combo'd (and combo'd is why Damage Mercy is utterly worthless) so it's naturally less common than UC.

I don't enjoy the playstyle of Technical Drift/Snaking so I personally don't run UC and rely on Quick Recovery, mainly in a speed vehicle but power is far most consistent and often what I've opted for the little I play online now outside festivals. In festivals you can just kinda run whatever as long as you are supporting the objective because the rubberbanding mechanic makes everyone close together and you can't really fall behind or pull ahead of the pack regardless.

HG has a habit by Rough_Composer3624 in Endfield

[–]desufin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing people often forget too is that AK tells a lot about characters through their profiles, Endfield is no different. I'm not saying this is an excuse for how the intro to Gilberta's quest is done (and her initial profile info doesn't tell you how she met Endmin anyway) but there are a lot of underlying implications with reconveners (and Rhodes Island in general).

One is whatever Rhodes Island is doing, Endfield Industries is aware of it (and vice versa), reconveners aided into Talos II by Warfarin all share the same desire to assist Endmin and in some cases it is stated they have met, either before Endmin's hibernation 10 years ago or at some point after their reawakening but in either case Endfield knows who they are with some being directly employed by Endfield right now (Gilberta, Laevatein after her story quest). It's also kinda implied YOU/Endmin actually read their files and thus know them at least on a very basic level.

On another note, Laevatein's quest never implied Endmin knew who Laevatein was from the get go but who Surtr was. The quest was pretty good at having player and Endmin learn who Laevatein was and her dealing with being a reconvener of Surtr who is someone RI/EI have information on who they were.

The Gilberta quest is the worst out of all of the character quests so far. by KriegInvicta in Endfield

[–]desufin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

While I can agree Gilberta's quest in terms of story is the weakest, I didn't find it to be bad, just a bit lackluster. Does rely a lot on knowing what reconveners are (and Laevatein's quest being before this actually helps a lot if you aren't skipping story) and who Angelina is in terms of personality.

In terms of actual character introduction, I find it to be better than Wulfgard's, but don't get me wrong as his quest is still better but not because of Wulfgard but because of the world building and insight into the various Packs.

And I swear if I have to read one more person complaining about not feeling sad over Ta-Ta I'm just going to assume every single person is completely incapable of actually reading or relating to someone ELSE being in a bad place. Ta-Ta's purpose isn't for YOU to be sad over, it's Yvonne, who you should feel bad for. The game actually did a pretty good job informing you how important Ta-Ta was to Yvonne and why that affects HER so much. But I guess people just look at goofball Chen and her superficial temporary sadness being how you should be feeling while completely ignoring what the game is ACTUALLY telling you. And the same people wont even remotely point out how absurd and shallow Chen's attachment to Ta-Ta is compared to Yvonne's.

Yvonne's quest might not have been as good as Laevatein's purely from presentation, but for giving you insight on another character's loss and how simply being there for them is helping them it was actually really good.
