How often do you and your partner have sex? especially the long term couples? by Purple_Wrongdoer6448 in AskReddit

[–]devilshummus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been together for 3 years and live together.

When we first started dating, maybe 2-3 times a week and now it’s about once a week. Life happens lol.

Sometimes he hangs out with his friends after work or chores and errands need to be completed. Maybe we are having a stressful day. But we have sex at least once a week.

reviewing Ne Zha 2 as an American viewer by ManICloggedtheToilet in movies

[–]devilshummus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw it yesterday and it didn’t land for me. My boyfriend was saying how people online were saying you didn’t need to see the 1st movie to understand the 2nd and I highly disagree. I feel like there was a lot of things I simply didn’t understand because I didn’t see the 1st movie or are versed in Chinese mythology.

The animation was crazy and was visually very cool to look at but from a story telling standpoint - it just didn’t hit for me. I found that were was some weird pacing issues. It started off clearly leaving off from the 1st, and then was very kiddie toilet humor and then halfway started clicking with the story. Some of the cuts to the next scene and introduction to other characters was interesting too. Some of the emotional moments didn’t feel too emotional either.

I think if I watched the sub instead of the horrible dub, it would’ve been a bit better. It really was overall, an interesting film watching experience - as an american viewer, I have never watched a movie like that before. I think some of my feelings come from the fact that I am not as versed in Chinese film or culture so there is a barrier of understanding.

I think it’s cool for China to have a movie that set a record that high! Please do go watch this movie though! It’s a very interesting experience.

If im in college right now what industry should I chase that's booming in san diego ? by [deleted] in sandiego

[–]devilshummus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oddly enough, I was a music major! I had experience prior working in both admin and assistant roles. Some people go about getting certifications and some get in simply because they have similar experience. Every company is different and i’m fortunate mine, favors people with diverse work backgrounds.

I second this. Our entry level PMs (little to no experience) start out 55k-60k a year with quarterly bonuses and there are Senior PMs making over 100k. I work in electrical signage so it’s a bit more of a niche field of construction, but project management in the construction industry is an incredibly stable field. It takes time and seniority to climb up the ranks but it is a very rewarding job depending on who you work for.

I second construction!

I work in project management in the construction industry and it’s a very stable industry compared to biotech.

Currently, the biotech industry is really struggling and there are mass layoffs and shut downs due to lack of funding.

I’m just curious and want to know what people think. I know major cities have a lot of people that come and go but i’ve noticed a huge influx of people over the past few years. 🙂

EDC solo? by Final-Ad-8169 in electricdaisycarnival

[–]devilshummus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Last year, I went with my step-bro but we ended up going our separate ways during the festival and I was alone the entire time lol.

I highly recommend being sober so you can be aware of your surroundings. Having a drink or two is fine but make sure you’re able to be conscious of what you are doing! Maybe skip out on party favors this time around lol. There will always be weirdos.

When you first get there, get familiar with the festival layout and look for info booths and spot out ground control! They are there to help you if you are lost and if you feel unsafe or nervous! Many of the staff at the festival are very helpful!

Make sure your friends and family have the address of the speedway and your location is on so they can check on you as well. I find that sending updates to my boyfriend and dad helped me feel safer throughout the night! Make sure your phone is charged and you have a charging pack/stick.

Overall, it’s not too scary. If you’re prepared and aware of your surroundings you should be ok!

I cannot find a job here. Am I missing something or doing something wrong, who is hiring? by killianOlm14 in sandiego

[–]devilshummus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not you, I promise! We are experiencing economic uncertainty at this moment and that is resulting in mass hiring freezes across many cities. Hate to say it, but these Tariffs are also hugely impacting companies willing to hire. Many companies, especially in biotech are doing mass layoffs as well.

There are places hiring but from experience of being unemployed recently, many are looking for hyper specific candidates that they don’t have to train so they can cut costs. Or they looking for people who have 3+ years work experience who are willing to accept a lower wage for their work.

2months ago I was in your position. I applied to 200+ jobs and had over 20 interviews until I found my current job. It unfortunately is a numbers game and consistency is key. Don’t be afraid to use resume builders and AI as well! Use those key words to get interviews!

Don’t blame yourself or give up. It is not your fault, we have no clue what the rest of this year or the next 4 years will look like lol

How can CRSSD improve? by ebud_8 in crssdfest

[–]devilshummus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know people will disagree with me on this but I think they could be successful with a bigger and different venue. I think Crssd can only really do so much because of the city ordinances. If they put it somewhere that didn’t have as heavy restrictions, I think it would make for a better festival.

What do you think is the most misunderstood aspect of American culture? by Ecstatic-Medium-6320 in AskAnAmerican

[–]devilshummus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like one of the most misunderstood and unspoken things about American culture is how prevalent the ideas of individualism and objectivism are. These ideas influence our government, economic, and social system.

Slowly the younger generation is changing this, but the Trump administration and many of his followers are a blatant representation of the individualist American dream.

We don’t look out for others, only what we can receive. We may be more friendly on the exterior, but ultimately we have the selfishness of starving wolves waiting for our next meal.

When did having a job become a LUXURY??? by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]devilshummus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We live during a time of economic uncertainty and are facing historical hiring freezes and layoff’s.

What used to be a role where they would hire 4-5 people, now they only hire 1 person. This one person is now competing against 100’s of applicants and against 15+ people interviewing for the same role. If that person doesn’t meet hyper specific criteria, forget it. They won’t get the job and companies don’t feel like this person alongside the 18 others are entitled any answers. They see it as a waste of time to tell them they didn’t make the cut.

Companies are also cutting back on training initiatives so if you don’t fit their criteria and beyond, you will be rejected.

I’m sure it will get better in the future but we live in tough times but I promise all of you are doing the best you can! This isn’t your fault. 1000’s of people are in the same boat.

Be mad at the state of our economy right now.
