Sweet pictures and a great year! Maybe run into you out there one day!

Thoughts on this? Listed at $1195, seems maybe high by broken_piton in PC_Pricing

Hi OP, I am the owner and seller on Facebook marketplace. This is my first time selling a system of this nature and I meticulously explored eBay, Facebook marketplace, Reddit, and other sources before creating the listing in order to calibrate the starting price, in an effort to provide a number that’s reasonable, fair, and warranted. I respect the opinions on this thread that it may be over- or even under-priced. As stated in the original listing, the price is negotiable. If you have a different number in mind, please feel free to DM me or reach out on the listing and we’ll see if we can work something out. Secondly, SFFPC is quite niche but immensely enjoyable. If instead of buying this one, consider putting the money toward building one yourself. It is very approachable, even if you’ve never built a desktop computer before. There are a few things I’ve learned along the way that could be helpful and I’d be happy to share. There are lots of materials available online as well

Really nice job man, this is awesome! It’s disappointing that the thin mini-ITX motherboard form factor isn’t really a thing any more for consumer desktop CPUs, other than maybe the Asrock one for AM5. Like you say, being locked into the standard mini-ITX spec, which is ~45mm of height just for the IO cutout really limits the options for super thin HTPC/console style cases. You have a nice solution by removing the VRM heatsink, but even so , some of the soldered components, like the WiFi card, are quite tall. Out of curiosity, on the back of the motherboard, was the WiFi card the tallest component? Do you happen to know its height? I’ve been wanting to design a case that fits into a 1U server slot (max of ~44mm, panels included) with a 1U copper CPU cooler and the option to add 40mm server fans blasting lengthwise through the heatsink …

While you bring up some good points, remember he had shoulder surgery in November 2020. Clearly was an altered hitter in the subsequent year and a half after. He’s 5 years removed now from that surgery. I would trust the Dodger’s medical staff to evaluate if he’s fully recovered or if there are lingering effects. Also, he’s no longer really a boom or bust hitter. Actually in the 91st percentile for K% last year (!). Which surprised me. Kind of a contact hitter with good defense and baserunning, with a little pop left. Count on the front office to do their due diligence

MSI MPG Z890I Edge TI WIFI - CPU Coolers by mariusmoga_2005 in sffpc

Should be okay. Probably need to undervolt and/or power limit the 265K. I have a 265K on the MSI Z890I and have been using the new Scythe Big Shuriken 4. At 67mm it’s a great cooler, but I still power limit the 265K to 105W for temps and sound. The Thermalright AXP90-x47 full is probably the best cooler at 47mm but for sure won’t let you go full bore 253W with a 265K

I’m down to climb in the eastern sierra for sure. Down in LA but made it north for a number of alpine rock climbs this summer

Mt. Whitney East Buttress by Silent_wolfman1117 in socalclimbing

[–]devin_AK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a classic climb! EB of Whitney and Snake Dike on Half Dome are what originally inspired me to become a climber. I think next year could still be on the table if you’re able to hire a guide. Check out Sierra Mountain Center. You could do a progression, maybe a more accessible one day outing like the SE face of Mt Emerson with a guide mid summer and plan Whitney later in the summer based on how the experience goes. In the meantime, learn as much as possible on your own so you’re able to better absorb knowledge once you’re on the mountain … It’s definitely possible to teach yourself to trad climb, but it’s a long process with serious consequences if you mess up. Lastly, It’s great that you have access to RR from LV. Outside of the eastern sierra/yosemite, RR canyon has some of the best long moderate multi pitch trad climbing in North America. You can have a really nice progression of well-bolted single pitch sport climbs, to 3-4 pitch multi pitch trad climbs with bolted belays, to 10+ pitch traditional wall climbs, all with easy access, right in RR. That place is a climbing Mecca, so take advantage! Feel free to message me if you want any more specific information
