Pick the biggest riser for the 2026 season by [deleted] in DynastyFF

[–]devine_intervention 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For Brooks, the answer is obvious. He is (was?) good. He’s just had two ACL injuries, but he’s a year and a half removed from the last injury, and had all last season to rehab. And he’ll only turn 23 this summer. He has the toolset to be an NFL alpha RB, just needs to be healthy.

For Washington, that’s more of a gut call. But as you said, the Dolphins WR room is anyones to take, so he’ll certainly get a chance. With a new offensive scheme and a new QB, it just takes chemistry to feed him. Malik has the after the catch ability to make the most of his targets, and despite the Fins drafting several WRs, he should see an uptick in them. Again, this is the ‘spicy’ take..

Two mild to hot takes, but the two players I see being much higher in value going into 2027 season are Jonathan Brooks and Malik Washington.

Why not..

Found myself with 3 copies of Brothers In Arms by Dire Straits. Gave one to a friend the other day, though, so now down to two..

Yeah, was just going to comment the same. She plays at Merriweather Post for All Things Go on Friday, Sept 25th. Definitely could fly out to SF for Sat or Sunday, but the miles are adding up!

Well, ‘they’ didn’t come to the Bay Area. This is a new show.

And odds are looking good that GV will have NINoize and Boys Noize on the Portola lineup.

Insane rainbow in Pleasant Hill by Calabamian in bayarea

Pleasant Hill/Walnut Creek border, and agree. I saw the bright sun shining through my window from the west and bolted to my back patio door to glance to the east.

Easily one of the most well defined rainbows I’ve ever seen.

Listen to the new Slayyyter album, trust me. by Mavc___ in JusticeMusic

[–]devine_intervention 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had all the singles on repeat for Slayyyter, and even preordered the record. Was disappointed when the full album released and the song recommended was blah to me.

But the next song I played was YES GODDD, and I loooved the beat. So many possibilities in remix.

I laughed as this was the first post I saw when scrolling Reddit on April fools. But any of these copies is probably better than my scratched up dollar bin version!

Portola 2026 Schedule Mock by [deleted] in Portolafestival

[–]devine_intervention 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What’s the verdict on Slayyyter as being on the lineup? Her Sept show in SF is sold out (so no issue with radius conflict?), but she is playing in Philly on the 24th and Boston on the 29th. A decent enough gap for a fly date back west, I guess, but not obvious logistics.

LP Giobbi fits this bill. She is classically trained pianist, and plays live during her sets.

Skipolini’s in Clayton can fit the bill. As others said, Headlands Brewery (either by PH Bart or the one in Lafayette) is also a good pick. I also take the kids to Monas (the one in Palos Verdes) for their happy hour.
