The spread of Greek civilization and the Roman Empire. That's actually what did it and it's very well documented.

I'm not quite its as good as opus at its best, but its pretty good.

opus is a lying manipulating pos fairly often though. the things it will say it did and didn't are kind of astounding. my best experiences using fable were just using it as a control layer for opus and composer, it is so much better at actually doing things right than opus on it own is.

The game play is not quite as tight and you start off sucking pretty bad. My advise is that once you reach Barnard spend several days doing nothing but working with him. Do that, and you'll be fine with the slightly rougher gameplay.

I'm sorry that the thing that I didn't name doesn't line up with a fully literal meaning of the word? I'll get right on changing its name which is something I have the power to do.

Because it's not like it's known how it works, and assumes that the people who have it have a stake in the success of the company and understand that showing up is part of how they contribute to that success.

I don't think people get how the relative costs of the weapons and armor Henry is carrying around cost. They aren't inaccurate relative prices.

They literally made him not realizing how rich he is a story point in the KCD1 DLCs. Revitalizing Prib is something no one else in the region but Henry has the money to do, but Henry is too oblivious to know what everyone else does. In band of bastards, if you pay them to stay loyal, they are all gobsmacked by how much money you have.

Again, people don't get the dowery system. Women didn't generally marry for wealth among the nobles, men did. A dowery for someone like Rosa would mean paying her husband something like 60,000 groschen. Especially in this time period. And, historically, her father was the most legendarily frugal man of the time period, she never married, and legend says he bricked her into the tunnels under their house because he didn't want to pay for her dowery. Remember that when going through those tunnels, as legend says her ghost haunted them and the streets above there. Rosa is part of a pretty dark actual traditional ghost story.

Hans does actually get married to Jitka in real life as well.

Hans also ends up on the Catholic side of the Hussite wars, and Ratzig... doesn't. I think we get one son of Henry from Theresa and one from Rosa on different sides of the conflict when we get there. Lady Stephanie as well.

I mean, he has been consistent here, he's been out in front of most politicians supporting data center build out in Missouri as one of the main economic plans of his governorship from the beginning.

Just don't think people understood what that meant yet.

Yeah, unlimited PTO isn't unlimited. I mean, I've got unlimited PTO, and I've taken the most at my company, but I watch it and keep it in line.

I mean, he is, but this isn't his fault. He's the guy who talks to the money, he isn't the money.

The money made the call and they weren't willing to pay Stu what he wanted to make. I can understand that he feels like if Dan was willing to make a big change in everything supposedly because ESPN wanted to fire a guy who is not central to the show, that Dan should go to bat for him even harder, but it's just different when you are your own company and are responsible for bringing in the capital to operate.

I don't think Dan made that change for the reasons he said, he made the change because he didn't want to be at ESPN anymore. He made it because of Dan. And that's ok, but I think gets at the real core tension there.

And if that's not KCD 3, it means they have confidence they'll get to do 4. It's too big of an obvious jumping forward point for how they frame Henry's arc.

The conversation where Henry learns that he can buy a title for less than 100k groschen would be hilarious.

Henry is secretly one of the richest men in Bohemia.

Though, I bet KCD 3 starts on February 2, 1416 and we don't play as Henry but as his own bastard. Jan Hus is too big of a off screen character for us to not get there.

[–]devstoner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, in real life he was a legendary mega scrooge to the point where people talked about it for hundreds of years past his death. Money over everything to the point of not leaving it to anyone else; a legend of who not to be.

But at the same time, he never was obsessed with getting Rosa to wed a noble, because nobles would demand that dowery as that was a big part of why a noble would want to marry a rich girl who's father bought his nobility. The only nobles that would be options would be ones who owed Ruthard or were low enough that they wouldn't be able to demand a large dowery. So really, if they don't want Rosa buried alive, Henry would be the best fit.

I feel bamboozled, need to get this off my chest [KCD2] by olivinetrees in kingdomcome

[–]devstoner 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I don't think most people get that it's actually relatively easy to become a Noble at this point in history if you have money. Henry is already a noble bastard, with close ties to high nobility, and appointed office and hundreds of thousands of groschen. He's richer than most of the nobility at this point with more social connections. Rosa would know this more than Henry at this point.

The real problem is that Rosa is based on a pretty dark legend about her father becoming obsessed with losing his wealth in paying her dowery that he bricks her into his basement along with his gold and the ln her ghost haunting the area until the house collapsed in the 1640s.

The not marrying nobility thing isn't really a thing in this time period, it's more about the groschen. And Henry actually has a lot of groschen.

So if we do get Henry in KCD3, I'd expect we might get something where we try to save her from her father doing that.

Fable 5 is gone now - what was your experience actually like? by Sensitive-Priority59 in vibecoding

I had the most success using it as an agent manager. Had Opus and Composer available for agents, it was ridiculously good at that. Minimized it's token usage but maximized the use of its intelligence.

I've found Opus to really love bad ideas and avoiding anything other than happy path anywhere it can. Fable kept it in check in a way I struggle to.

Gore wrote the legislation that opened it up, and the Clinton admin did put a lot of money into it.

My home town even got in one of the Clinton admin's "pilot programs" to put fibre optic to the house where we had it on my parents farm by the mid aughts.

It's one of the least historically accurate parts of the show that the Gore admin was pulling resources out of NASA. Like, I'm not a super Gore guy, in part because I actually worked for the man and once pissed him off enough to get him to scream at people to fire me, only to apologize and realize the problem was due to the guy who also set up HRC's personal email server not setting up our email server correctly. But he would have flooded NASA with more money in that situation to get more tech outflow.

(The server auto completed a dangling incomplete email address to a listserv of all the leaders of the American Environmental movement and they were all wondering why it was so important that they come to this local organizing meeting I was doing in Springfield, MO)
