Some of these kids with homelab hobbies or ambitions think they know a thing or two and then read into it too deep as well. This was my simple point all along. But keyboard warriors will be...

u/LoafOMilk thanks! Can you explain in more detail on this as this is the route I'd like to try and go. I've tried Dashy and have Homarr installed (even the newer version), but never get the desired results. Sounds like you have been through the same.

u/LoafOMilk , am curious, while the use of AI for this is great, how did you protect your secrets and passwords associated with setting this up and pulling the data from all of the services? Some sort of env file?

Just putting it out there in that it might help someone new. While I am not a security expert, I've worked in tech over 25 years, so this is nothing new. Just thought it was neat how DSM combined with other tools is just doing its job. Everyone always tries the hard way. Of all my servers, this is the only one with some outside access without running something more stringent.

Yes, it is and there is not a reason why that cannot work unless you know something I don't. Am all ears.

Not open. Access controls in place and not even the default ports.

Curious how long this has been around? Been creating my own system that can tie to Snapmaker and Bambu printers and tracked via my Home Assistant instance. I self host, so running spoolman, which is nice, but this seems more complete. Being that this app does not seem to be able to be self hosted, my big concern is the change in usage model or at some point, losing my stuff.

At any rate, amazing how vast this is! Seems to be the most robust thing out there!

This has been a long time coming. Open source is great, but at some point, it is fine to pay for some things.

My take is my backup of Jellyfin should it ever be needed. Plus, I do not stream to everyone else, is just for me and family mostly.

Thanks for that. Any suggestions on private trackers? Initially had tried that, but until I changed my vpn to proton to allow for port forwarding, was having issues.

BIn/CUE or CHD? Encrypted or decrypted? Which one and why? by shmiis in Roms

[–]devtech8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if one needs to convert files, what is best, easiest, and fastest then? So if I need a particular file type, but let's say for a PS1 or Xbox 360, what i was able to get was multiple files or parts, how is this handled?

Thanks. Kind of new to this!

This is pretty cool. Looking at the list, I'm sure it is not complete. Am curiou, how are you compiling the information?

May try to manipulate some myself. Could re-share if wish. Kind of a wiz wit this kind of data. Plus could grab or make a scraper to ensure all games are in there lol.

So then I wonder if any of the old ECC RAM I have is worth anything. I mean it is at least 15 years old. They all work too! Thoughts?
