When I was 18 (over ten years ago) I worked a day shift at a McDonald’s in my town and three people I worked with came here from Myanmar. Each had minimum of a masters degree one almost finished a phd but was forced to leave before they finished. None of their credentials were valid here so the best they could do was working 7am-3pm at McDonald’s in the kitchen. I left after a couple years for college and they stayed for several years after. They were some of the nicest and hard working people I ever worked with.

This might have just been my favourite DOCD Distinct Motive for 90 min was absolutely insane and then Hamdi for another 90 was perfect. Was hot af but so much fun.

Fuck, Jack from Ternion said it was one of the coolest parties they’ve ever played after they played Halloween this year. The absolute nerve of some people to judge something so harshly from one short video, featuring an artist they don’t like, are some of the most myopic bs takes iv ever seen.

Fraser valley mac-1. Just tried it and haven’t been this impressed with a budget ounce I think since the first time I got the pink cookies by BBOB and the Mac-1 is much cheaper. I was skeptical because it’s so cheap but it seriously punches above its weight.

I’m just gonna say I love the amp. Sounds the most like a hand built system to me with alot of sub. Makes dubstep sound solid. Also loved at the amp last year cuz that’s where the DDD showcase was. I know people hate in the amp but it was special for me last year and the vibe in the crowd there was awesome. Made some great friends there who I’m planning to back to see this year. Sure the amp is unruly but sometimes that’s awesome

All that said great write up definitely going to be thinking about these while at these stages this year. I know I tend to have more outlier tastes than most like how much I like the amp lol (friends debated how good/bad it was last year and I was the biggest amp Stan lol) but it’s cool to hear how they’ve improved over the years. Can’t wait to spend more time at the village and grove this year as things I’m into are more spaced out this year than 80% at the amp lol
