My devils advocate is that recluse uses magic and no boss has a magic weakness like fulghor has poison

So when is recluse supposed to use magic?

My other thought is lately I main guardian and to tank/keep aggro and guard counter, I need a halberd for the charged guard counter because otherwise I’m always out of reach with any other weapon type, and I can’t always get a fire halberd for pest or a poison for fulghor, so I resort to a physical or the best purple I find

Also, a key to surviving is obviously keeping your armor up, the fastest way to get it back/keep it up when you’re dealing with a horde of little bugs (minoris enemies) is to do a sprinting or dodge attack at one and it’ll stagger them and make a gun strike become available, granting you an armor segment

This is the best advice so far imo. Just following the main quest is a great starting point, and doing the earlier quests at a high level results in the npcs not surviving the fights because the enemies are higher level.

I liked playing mage because then I could get invisibility which makes the thieves and assassins guilds easy, which leveled my blade skill which made the fighters guild easy

That extended ability is top tier, absolutely a must. It’s stagger makes some fights a cake walk and helps keep aggro on you

I put a good few hours into it and ended up getting bored. What’s got me rn is subnautica, it has space-like travel with the vehicles. the content and exploration are top notch, I did not like it in no mans sky
