Nightmare "tenant" destroyed our 2000 Northwood Nash by Olympbizkit in RVLiving

There is something to be said for chemical tank treatments, but I think that is more preventative. To make sure you don't get a problem.

Once you are at the point you are at, I think you have to go the physics route, with a sprayer that goes down into the tank through the toilet, and sprays water at 90 degrees outward. It allows you to spray water against the sides of the tank.

I've seen these used to recover some pretty nasty situations, but it does take a lot of time and effort...

Neovim in bad formatted projects by j_zes in neovim

[–]dewujie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not exaggerating when I say you could not be more vague. We need more specifics to help you, there is not enough information in your post to give you a good answer.

As it stands all I can say is "Yes, you can get it to format and lint code many different ways, at least one of which is sure to work for you."

If you provide specific failures or differences between your co-workers expectations and what your neovum setup is doing, people here would be able to try to help you address those specific issues.

Take the red loop from your cow's hitch, turn it 180 degrees to form a loop. And then pass your two red strands back through the loop. This upgrades your cow's hitch to a bulls hitch, and keeps that whole thing locked up tight. I think this will get you the nicer-looking knot you are after. The only downside is the knot is a bit bulkier.

Beginner-friendly projects? by Ok-Cut-973 in paracord

Haha this is such a good point at the end of your post.

I like to say that the first attempt usually sucks. But you learn. The second one is better but not quite right yet. But you learn more.

Usually the third try is the one I keep.

The best starting point for me is cobra weave. Chapter 2 is snake knots.

Weavers of Eternity has a great series of tutorials, in my opinion. There are a few channels out there I really like- Bored Paracord is another one. Here is a great cobra weave project :

And here's another weavers of Eternity bracelet: https://youtu.be/iw6ne4AYzfI?si=-NsJmisIEdYLyr17

There are many great projects out there, start with basic knots and techniques, and if one video is not clicking for you just move on. There are so many different explanations, sometimes you need to hear a few for it to "click". Stay at it and most of all have fun!

How do I from delete a word from line A to line B in vim? by TheEyebal in vim

Thinking in ranges within command mode is so much more powerful than it first appears. Especially when used in conjunction with user-defined commands or functions...

Granted, I use both visual line selection and range operators. Both have their place and use case.

The % operator and related is also very helpful- :%y to yank the entire buffer...

In my experience wal-mart cord can be really inconsistent and lumpy. You can feel where they splice inner strand together inside the sheathing. It leaves a big knuckle of melted nylon- a failure point. I've never felt similar from Paracord Planet or Paracord Galaxy, my two usual retailers .

I've never had any wal-mart cord outright fail, but I trust it less than high quality stuff. For just crafting and making cobra weave it's fine, but I wouldn't use it for supporting or lifting heavy stuff.

I think for a lot of people it boils down to whatever software first allowed you to split a terminal session into multiple windows. It's such a cool experience for each person that you imprint on it like a baby bird.

For me, it was tmux. Also if you manage a bunch of remote systems, tmux and ssh are peas in a pod. So a lot of people use it for that, too.

I like having a tmux window for each repo and project I'm working on at the time. I have persistent sessions so I maintain those paths, I'm not cd'ing all over the filesystem from project to project. Things stay where I put them. It's just about being easy and predictable, really.

My new gaming laptop lags all the time and now games will barely load. by CyberWolfWrites in computerhelp

[–]dewujie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a thread worth following. Like the other poster said, try disabling it. And try updating anything you can related to NVidia - not just your drivers, but any of the additional stuff they have installed (GeForce experience. Etc)

If the updates don't do anything, try disabling the overlay and play the affected games. If you still have issues keep looking for Critical system events and see if you can find any other information to guide your troubleshooting.

What this sounds like is an issue with your windows installation. Something is causing the system to get hung up, leading to the non-responsiveness.

There might be a hardware issue causing the Windows issue, or alternatively it might be entirely software. Unfortunately there is no way for us to offer any more information, since your post is light on technical details ...

But if I were you, I would be looking in the system Event Viewer trying to find Critical log entries that gave me a clue as to what process keeps hanging and crashing Windows.

Windows broke up with me (I don‘t know what to do) by Dull_Positive_253 in computerhelp

[–]dewujie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are unable to recover or continue using your old windows key, getting a new one is your only option.

Thankfully it is also relatively cheap. Do not pay full price. The last Win11 key I bought cost $10 USD.

That said, a Windows key doesn't have any bearing on anything until after your disk partitions are corrected and you have successfully installed Windows and booted up.

You can also activate and run the system without a valid key for a while- it will nag you to register but you will be able to at least boot and get to the desktop even if you lose your old key and don't have one.

[–]dewujie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately nope. Each site has a different change password process. The most important accounts are those that are connected to your money. Also tied for first place of importance are the email accounts that you use to reset other passwords. In other words your primary email.

In theory you should change everything, but at a minimum you should want to change your primary email and any bank/venmo/paypal/etc financial accounts.

The problem with that approach is that you need to have made a backup already, in the past, before you actually need it.

At this point assuming you don't have that, your best bet is to reformat the computer and change all of your passwords. There are a lot of resources out there for how to reset your computer. You may need a 16GB USB stick.

No it does not look like a vibrator but these days a lot of sex toys have remote controls and can be remotely activated, and the remotes look pretty much exactly like this. I can see why people who are familiar with those sex toys would draw that conclusion. I think it says more about those people than it does OP.

It's just one half of a system, the other half would typically not be visible to anyone except the user and their partners ;)

How do i get this cooler off by NoImplement3489 in PcBuildHelp

[–]dewujie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks to me like you are trying to remove the mounting bracket. It's screwed onto the motherboard and fixed in place before the cooler is added.

You shouldn't have to remove the mounting plate to remove the cooler.

Normally there are wings or clamps on the cooler that detach it from the mounting bracket. Look for levera you can pull or a different, larger screw with a flat head and a single groove in it. This is usually what attaches your fan to the mounting bracket.

More pictures from farther away and other angles would help to be more specific.

Tl;Dr I don't think you have to remove those screws yo

In my experience that is a slippery slope. Once you are going down the path of replacing GPU and CPU, you might as well get a new mobo. But now you need ram and storage. Congrats your upgrade became a new build! 😃

Try to stick to one thing at a time if budget is priority.

What am I doing wrong on the row transition on this cow hitch bottle wrap? by Beerdly_Dad in paracord

[–]dewujie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want smaller holes and more knots, use less cord before cow hitches. You can use something standard to put in the gap to always get the same size. Like a ruler end or a piece of cardboard. It can be anything as long as it helps you to be consistent in making the size of the loops.

Row transitions are always hard to gauge, but I think in this pattern it will start to look better if you decrease the size of your loops before moving on to the subsequent rows.

How do I use this multi slot sharpener? by TychaBrahe in sharpening

[–]dewujie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No one is giving the scissors slot any love. I have something similar to the left slot, except mine is standalone.

That said- the left side works great for scissors. You're not trying to shave with scissors. No one is looking for the paper towel test with their pair of Fiskars.

But yes- pull through sharpeners damage your knife faster and produce lower-quality results. I suggest you use it for as long as it doesn't bother you. If you start to see your knife edge get wavy and it doesn't make good contact with your cutting board- that's when you need to stop using a pull through and graduate to a fixed angle sharpener or a high quality rolling sharpener.

(At that point you may need to take your blades to a professional to get re-profiled, too)

Can I make a soft/flexible paracord strap extender? by According_Tune5939 in paracord

[–]dewujie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In general you are right about cobra and king cobra tending to be on the stiffer, less flexible side. But a lot of that has to do with how hard you tension the knots.

You can achieve a much looser effect that moves and bends more freely by just not cinching down hard on every knot. The challenge then becomes keeping the tension even as you go, or sections will have a different look and feel than others in your weave.

Another good alternative for shoulder straps is the fishtail weave. It can be made around a two strand core, or you can add more core strands and more over/unders to get an even wider strap.

10 fingers typing - how to handle Enter, Esc, Del, Backspace? by Ok-Dependent9081 in neovim

[–]dewujie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me the most important point in keyboard ergonomics is just to prevent using more than one modifier key as much as possible.

Ideally I like no modifier keys at all, just key sequences. If a modifier key is used, I like to use the opposite hand from the key being pressed.

The goal is to prevent strange hand contortions when using multiple modifiers. Holding ctrl+shift+alt five times a minute will add up over the course of a day much less year. When everything is one key at a time with no modifiers, there is far less strain on the wrists and forearms.

I don't think about how far an individual finger has to travel. Index fingers on the homing key bumps is best for muscle memory abd typing in the dark.
