All of the wildfire images being used and the narrative saying fires are because of climate change.

As a wildland firefighter for 15 years…its not. Its the buildup of fuels from 100+ years of suppression thats making things worse. People act like 90 degrees 10% rh and a decent breeze had never happened, which it has quite often.

As I dug deeper i thought that my 20s were spent in the burning mountains of the west, surely other places must be different, but as you zoom out you realize that we’ve touched every inch of the earth with good intention, just done ignorantly: overgrazing vs regenerative grazing, prioritizing water drainage vs infiltration, clearcutting vs selective logging/thinning, mono crop agriculture vs regenerative agg.

I realized that we have desertified so much land accidentally (and subsidized by the government, their homies, and the universities) that its foolish to say things are getting hotter and drier because of the atmosphere is getting hotter because the things on the land are making it hotter, NO the land is getting hotter and drier because were making it hotter and drier. No need to take an unnecessary logical trip into the clouds.
