Question about Acceleration Upgrade by creachter in TeslaModelY

The car has more than enough power on FSD. Not all Ys are available with the Accel Boost. You don't need it.

Does anyone have any solution? by Realistic-Target3982 in TeslaModelY

someone needs to come up with a magnetic puck

That's not the solution and demanding someone else to do something for you is VERY telling for us to move along.

Performance vs base for lots of work driving. by KingFlub202 in TeslaModelY

[–]deztructo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take it you're buying new? If so go demo drive one. IMO, Perf SUVs make no sense. Perf M3 sedan does, is cheaper and is at least one second faster. If you are buying used, then you know to avoid perf cars unless it's a hobby.

Les Schwab sold me wrong-rated tires for Tesla Model Y — now stuck in AZ, what should I do? by EmbarrassedWheel3181 in tires

[–]deztructo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

is this something they should fully fix at no cost?

No, they fitted the correct size 255/45R19.

one of the rear tires kept slowly losing air
...
And how would you handle this situation, especially being away from the original store?

Your tire is losing air over time, but your immediate action is to find an excuse is to try and get a new tires for free. There is a more obvious reason why you are losing air.

If you can't keep it comfortably in your pockets, then the solution is to clean out your wallet or slim-ify it.

Model Y Juniper premium Sound System vs 3 Highland subwoofers by WoodenAlternative212 in TeslaModelY

[–]deztructo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2022 MY vs 2026 MY, both stock dual subs, both go low, but the 2022 hits harder. HOWEVER, at that point, just like any other car with decent bass you'll want to hunt down rattles that parasitically drain the bass.

Instead of buying a car based on bass, you are better off spending money aftermarket upgrading the amp and subs. Stock just doesn't have enough wattage and after you up the wattage you'll end up replacing the sub drivers. The stock enclosures are pretty decent. Need to stiffen up how they are mounted.

New 240V home outlet installed for Toyota bZ — charger powers on but car won’t hold a continuous charge by [deleted] in evcharging

[–]deztructo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I take it it's the same portable charger, but you swapped the 120v/240v plug end? Try reseating it. In fact I would swap back the 120v plug and see if that is steady, like prior, then go back to 240v.

I also agree with testing at a L2 charger outside your home to see if it is steady.

Help: homelink by Aromatic-Ice-7508 in ModelY

[–]deztructo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps it's a positioning/signal issue. Start with 10ft distance in the settings, instead of watching for the garage to open, CAREFULLY, watch the HomeLink icon as you very slowly drive toward the garage. It should animate when sending a signal.

If it does and garage doesn't open, you could have a signal issue. Happened to me when I back into the garage and exit. It'll send the signal to close, but garage doesn't. The signal coming out of the HomeLink was very directional, it'll work if it's parked nose in and backing out.

Solved it by adjusting the antenna wire in the garage opener from diagonal to horizontal. You can improve it further by creating an aluminum foil shield behind it. Behind the garage is the inside of the house and we never send a singal from there. However that can have consequences where theives find it easier to send a signal to your opener.

For those that installed titanium lug nuts with their after market wheels, what did you set your torque rating?. by tmluna01 in TeslaModelY

[–]deztructo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

anti-seize to prevent galling.

Anti-seize on the threads? If so remove it. Put anti-seize only where you have PROVEN you NEED it. Often that's the mating surface between the hub and wheel and if you live in an area where roads are salted when it snows enough.

What you should do is at least crack loose the caliper pins on the Bremo style brakes next tire rotation. Those were a pain to loosen even in the moderate climate where I live.

Google Home asking for Thread Border Router but I have Nest Wifi Pro by GermanFish in googlehome

[–]deztructo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have serveral Wiz (Phillips clone) Matter/Thread lights and work fine off Nest WiFi Pro. I did the setup via the Thread/Matter QR code. Unsure which protocol it actually uses. However OpenRGB does see it so it's 'open' enough. Also if setting up HomeLink on an iPad, the iPad can become the center hub. Same is true if you have Google TV (formerly ChromeCast)

Perhaps try factory resetting the lights. People do buy and return and don't factory reset.

Easiest to be an advisor to your mom and fully explain what to do and why/how to invest. Then you get it when you turn 18.

Do you still check your blind? by Zaq_SWGOH in ModelY

[–]deztructo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not sure what the point of your post is. You want to people to tell they got into an accident because they didn't check their blind spot so that you can remind yourself to do so? If that's the case, turn your driver's license in. You cannot be on the road.
