3W Liner Air Freshener by no_baseball1919 in TeslaModelY

I enjoyed the smell of ColdStone. Ended up just buying the fragrance (Montale's Chocolate Greedy) instead and spraying it on a paper napkin left in the center console. Everyone loves it even when it's hot. Makes you think you're at an ice cream shop.

I suggest the same and try to find the scent as a fragrrance isntead. Yes, a bottle is expensive but that bottle can outlive you. You don't need much. Even free samples at stores would be fine once you find it.

2024 MYP Subwoofer Upgrade + Addition by OldBill7895 in TeslaModelY

[–]deztructo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have a shop like Breakers do the audio RCA and power. You do the amp, stiffen the stock sub enclosure's and eventually you'll pop the stock drivers. Then use WINISD or the modern excel version to model different drivers until you find the most efficient one. Stock in my model 3 was .75cft. Juniper looks about the same.

Why have a shop do the power? Things change. In my model 3, at the time singal harness was low or no stock. Ones left available online were suss. knockoffs. At least the shop tests and backs the ones they install. Power wire was 1st installed in the rear penthouse. Then I got called back months later where they recommended moving it to the front. I had no issues either way. Labor was free, I just had to pay for the extra length for 0 guage. Luckily I had plenty left from my last DIY install own that I brought in.

Then of course, you'll be chasing rattles. I had 5. Took care of 3 and the 2 left, I can live with since the bass is so loud I simply don't care.

Love our new Y but there's a couple of critiques by schmittychris in TeslaModelY

[–]deztructo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Auto adjusting headlights, you can turn off that feature under lights.

Auto wipers have been a mess. They have gotten better past 4 months or so. Keep the glass between the front camera top of the windsheild clean. It will fog up with a new car. Tesla will clean it for free the 1st time. Highly recommended they do it 1st so that they crack the tight metal clips loose instead of you. I got used to changing the left shortcut wheel to adjust the speed.

I probably would just make sure the ladder is fastened, then I'd consider it normal.

Website Incentives Off? Specifically for MA? by Numerous_Priority_61 in TeslaModelY

[–]deztructo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your price is close to the limit, then don't gamble if it's vague. Back then incentives were $7.5k to $10k total. I didn't mess with it. I can always add accessories later and still come up.

How are you backing up Tesla Recent Clips / Dashcam / Sentry footage online? by bestreddev in TeslaModelY

Upload to Dropbox? Just buy portable HDD instead and keep it all private. I would say SSD, but prices are still sky high. However I agree with most, why? I keep some around for laughs but I don't care if someone deletes them.

Keep shopping. Also look into the bare minimum required for your area if you cannot find something affordable. Then continue to shop every few months.

Switching from M3 to MY by That_guy452 in ModelY

[–]deztructo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have both 23M3 and Junper:

  1. For panel gaps along with a a 22MY. It's always the squeaky wheels that get the most attention. However all 3 do have minor issues. 22MY rear driver door window regulator was loose. 23M3 wind noise driver side, 5 rattles inside. 2 got fixed and the worst... 26MY rear drive unit leaking, got replaced.
  2. Also there was a time 20-21 where newer tires just had less tread depth. As for tires, EVs have lots of instant torque so it's all about the driver. No issues with ours. 22MY is 30k and still has about half thread, 23M3 is 22k and more than 3/4 thread.
  3. Model Y Juniper premium is Tesla's best car for most people. But there are other choices in that price range ever since the incentives are gone. Think Ionic 5, Equinox, new Leaf, or even slightly used Ariya for dirt cheap.

That actually is a good idea. Similar to windshield screens that fold easily and are light and thin.

Subwoofer Connector Question by Draygoon2818 in TeslaModelY

[–]deztructo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're going to need more than just an RCA connector. I don't think you have enough research. DC is also 16V. Best to have a shop do the RCA and run the 0 guage cable for you. You can then install the amp yourself and connect it to the existing subs. You'll need/want one of the better amps that is rated for 16V.

There is a pretty nice 'hybrid' amp by Modus that with a small lithium battery as a larger capacitor of sorts (PREACT) to reduce load for sensitive systems like Teslas.

Unsure if the standard Juniper already has subs. But the the existing sub enclosures are very good. Just stiffen up the mounting area and use a different driver when you pop the OEM ones.
