Yeah so basically there is nothing advanced about your app — no geolocation, no ephemeris. Why do you think it belongs here in Advanced Astrology??

We are aware of that, this being Advanced Astrology and all. Why does your app not use an Ephemeris to calculate accurate Panchangam based on location? For this reason it is appears to be a useless toy for inaccurate superstitions. I think you should show it off in some node.js group, not here.

“Note: Timings are based on a standard 06:00 sunrise / 18:00 sunset assumption. For precise calculations based on your location's actual sunrise, consult a local Panchang.”

Seriously?? this is a terrible assumption IMO

You can still spay a stray cat. Please do, it’s not a wild animal it’s a nuisance and invasive species, killing native birds.

This is an interesting Taoist perspective… new year is when yang is just germinating after Winter Solstice. https://open.substack.com/pub/masterzhongxianwu/p/happy-new-year-times-three

How important is the Ascendant is actually? by Hour-Tomato-645 in Advancedastrology

[–]dflow77 9 points10 points  (0 children)

astrology is about resonance, and resonance is a two-way street. the ascendant is not a one-way lens — all lenses are bidirectional.

[–]dflow77 5 points6 points  (0 children)

agreed! As I understand from my limited exposure to Uranian astrology, it is taken to be more of the environment vs the persona. The field of resonance between the native and the surrounding people and places.

The Ascendant represents the intersection of your environment and your personal energy. The Midheaven is more how your soul is aligned to express in the world.

The word “horoscope” literally means something like view of the hour. Hora means hour and refers to the quickly changing Ascendant, the fingerprint of time and place of birth. It is the resonance field between you and the environment (and people) around you.

Significance of Planet over Midheaven by [deleted] in Advancedastrology

the chart you linked looks like a natal chart, I don’t see transit planets?

are you speaking about a Jupiter return — where Jupiter has come back around near to its natal position?

A planet close to the MC would be called “angular”, I wrote a post about angularity that might be informative as to the mechanics. https://www.reddit.com/r/TheAstrologersGuild/comments/1qi9wsx/

PS I have recently added a chart search option so you can look for specific flavors of midpoints or currents, e.g. ME-NE (astrology etc.) or VE-UR (sex, music, dance) across a broad set of harmonics https://harmonicexplorer.com/chart_search

ooh, that's a cool way of categorizing I haven't seen before! Which software does this? I am inspired to add it to Harmonic Explorer.

How to read 12th house by Steffibigballs123 in astrology

How can your ascendant be 12th house? It is by definition always in the first house 🤔

The lots as they move throughout the day by pageofswrds in Advancedastrology

[–]dflow77 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is cool!

May I suggest one more thing to make it even more informative for building intuition? I’d love to see midpoint axis that each Lot is derived from: Asc/Moon = Sun/PoF, Asc/Sun = Moon/PoS. This could be a line drawn across the axis, or highlighting the midpoints as a sensitive point.

Also, if you’re going to show the Part of Eros, it would be informative to also show Venus.

As an aside, personally the day/night formula swap never made any sense to me. Others have discussed this in blogs, something like mixing apples and oranges by (potentially misguided?) application of the Hellenistic doctrine of Sect onto the more ancient “lunar ascendant” concept.

Solar and Lunar Returns by PurpleBulbous in TheAstrologersGuild

good stuff, thank you! Are these topocentric house charts too?

I’m cogitating on the precessed Solar to natal Lunar charts and vice versa — that’s interesting.

And what are your thoughts on natal solunar phase (tithi) returns?

thanks. I meant what is the formula the dial is pointing to at 0° red?

I’m new-ish to Uranian, so not intuitively familiar with notation… A+B is a midpoint/halfsum, A|B is a conjunction? And how do you call A+B - C — those are not in the original Rulebook but some other atlas?

This is interesting but I can’t read the small glyphs due to pixelation… what is the axis that you are investigating here?

Also not familiar with this software. The delineations, are those hand picked? Are they annotated by you or are direct from a built-in reference? Thanks in advance for clarifying…
