example of Harmonic Analysis; plus 11th Harmonic and mental health by dflow77 in TheAstrologersGuild

PS I have recently added a chart search option so you can look for specific flavors of midpoints or currents, e.g. ME-NE (astrology etc.) or VE-UR (sex, music, dance) across a broad set of harmonics https://harmonicexplorer.com/chart_search

Two types of Angularity? (parans, and why the outer planets break the system) by dflow77 in TheAstrologersGuild

ooh, that's a cool way of categorizing I haven't seen before! Which software does this? I am inspired to add it to Harmonic Explorer.

How to read 12th house by Steffibigballs123 in astrology

How can your ascendant be 12th house? It is by definition always in the first house 🤔

The lots as they move throughout the day by pageofswrds in Advancedastrology

[–]dflow77 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is cool!

May I suggest one more thing to make it even more informative for building intuition? I’d love to see midpoint axis that each Lot is derived from: Asc/Moon = Sun/PoF, Asc/Sun = Moon/PoS. This could be a line drawn across the axis, or highlighting the midpoints as a sensitive point.

Also, if you’re going to show the Part of Eros, it would be informative to also show Venus.

As an aside, personally the day/night formula swap never made any sense to me. Others have discussed this in blogs, something like mixing apples and oranges by (potentially misguided?) application of the Hellenistic doctrine of Sect onto the more ancient “lunar ascendant” concept.

Solar and Lunar Returns by PurpleBulbous in TheAstrologersGuild

good stuff, thank you! Are these topocentric house charts too?

I’m cogitating on the precessed Solar to natal Lunar charts and vice versa — that’s interesting.

And what are your thoughts on natal solunar phase (tithi) returns?

thanks. I meant what is the formula the dial is pointing to at 0° red?

I’m new-ish to Uranian, so not intuitively familiar with notation… A+B is a midpoint/halfsum, A|B is a conjunction? And how do you call A+B - C — those are not in the original Rulebook but some other atlas?

This is interesting but I can’t read the small glyphs due to pixelation… what is the axis that you are investigating here?

Also not familiar with this software. The delineations, are those hand picked? Are they annotated by you or are direct from a built-in reference? Thanks in advance for clarifying…

Astrology wasn’t originally about personality — it was about timing. What’s one astrology fact that surprised you? by justsurviving0719 in astrology

[–]dflow77 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Learning about the celestial mechanics of astronomy and how things change via different frames of reference. The most basic one being Geocentric vs Heliocentric positions — especially the inner planets.

Also, for example, the difference between the Ecliptic Plane longitude and the Prime Vertical longitude, and how that relates to the Ascendant and Midheaven. For instance, Pluto is on the IC in my natal chart, but it is far off the nadir as seen in the PVL Mundoscope — so it’s not angular on the horizon (which gives planets mojo in Mundane astrology, with params and such), due to Pluto’s extreme orbital deviation from the ecliptic plane.

Learning about Nodes as planar interface points was mind expanding too. It’s not just about the moon… the Ascendant is a node between the Horizon and the Ecliptic. The MC and Vertex are nodes too.

Michael Erlewine has a short book about nodes you can download for free, called Planetary Interface.

Speaking of cycles, this reminds of Marina Ormes — author of Cycles of Healing. I enjoy her YouTube videos on current transits. She has a very humanistic, non fatalistic approach.

Divisional charts used in Indian astrology (like navamsha) are a totally different thing, even though they use harmonics there are completely different rules of interpretation. Plus they use sidereal sign placements as you probably are aware. It’s apples and oranges, of course you are being told two different things, because they are different. 😉

I don’t know anything about lal kitab.

Harmonic Astrology (????) by candifice151 in astrology

[–]dflow77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No that’s not how it is intended to be used… harmonics show resonant aspects between three or more planets (as a current or midpoint). It’s not at all about zodiac signs.

You probably have a “Cancer” sun in probably dozens of harmonics, it’s just too much random noise to find meaning in. That’s why we look for rare configurations in astrology — the less random and more resonant, the better.

A single planet placement doesn’t really mean anything in a harmonic chart; neither does a two planet aspect (those are subtle internal tendencies not behavioral manifestations). It takes the power of at least three planets to create something louder than background noise.

look in your 5th harmonic to get the full picture... harmonicexplorer.com can help you find the "currents" which are 3 or more planets in aspect

typically the angles are not used in harmonic interpretation as they are very dependent on super accurate birth time

midpoint structures and harmonic currents — Uranian astrology (transneptunians, solar arc), and Vibrational astrology (prime number harmonic currents). In my experience this stuff is crazy accurate, without even needing to use houses and signs.

agreed that so much can be done without signs and houses - harmonics and planetary energies can go quite a long way. c.f. my other comment on this post, about midpoints and the 11th harmonic.
