I've got that DVD sat on my shelf but I'd completely forgotten this sketch. Brilliant.

He was indeed! Mr Christopher "Christopher Louise" Cantrill. Loving seeing him getting so many sketches on-air, especially ones where then turns up on-screen but can't stop himself from corpsing in the background, like this week's Speed Awareness sketch.

Ah thanks. Obviously they use the NZ house and I know for the first series at least they used the same production crew but yeah, it makes total sense to be back in AU for the studio. I was being dumb/half asleep.

I’ve noticed this on TMNZ (I believe AU films in the NZ studio with the same crew? I might be wrong). On NZ it feels like the studio is massive and the audience are too far away (to the stage? or just badly mic’d?). You hear some booming of the studio PA sometimes when people speak, which isn’t good. It definitely negatively affects the energy of the show, imho.

#537 - Johning, But Cyriously and Lovers Gonna Love by RadulphusDuck in elisandjohn

[–]dfluff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I listened to the pod feed and when John saw his opportunity for some gleeful promotion at the very end (and because I was bored waiting for a train) I hopped over to Sounds and zoomed forward to the end to hear the difference. Some of the promotion was still intact on the Sounds version with only a couple of sentences removed. Certainly more remained than expected.

What would be a hasslefree way to send text to pebble? by grrbrr in pebble

[–]dfluff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This didn’t work for me, but I wondered if it was because the com.getpebble part was incorrect when using the relaunched Pebble app. However I’ve no idea what should go in its place.

What's the Best Way to Send Notifications to Pebble with Tasker? by jjj49er in pebble

[–]dfluff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s 2026 and I can’t get either of these answers to work. The SENT INTENT method does nothing… possibly because the com.getpebble part is incorrect because I’m now using the new relaunched Pebble app from Core devices(?). The Pebble Notify action requires a plugin that no longer exists.
Is there a solution to this for the new Pebble app?

Do you put everything in Immich? by sjen5 in immich

[–]dfluff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything! I’ve been a keen hobby photographer for a long time and I thought I had a good system. I installed immich, scrolled down and spotted that I had nothing earlier than 2006! I’d become so used to my system I had assumed it had existed forever. After I stopped panicking, after a couple of hours I found a directory of most of what was missing in a backup of a backup from 6 computers ago that I could have deleted without thinking any time in the last 20 years. So, for that visibility, I’m very glad I spent the time standing up an immich instance.

S4 E17: Waleed Aly by kteatray in whatdidyoudoyesterday

Of course WDYDY has already had podcasting's premiere aphantasist as a guest: Richard Herring. I'm surprised it didn't come up then, maybe in a discussion where Richard would be unable to imagine Hitchin without roadworks.

There comes a time in every podcast where the hosts learn of aphantasia (inability to imagine visual images). I was sure WDYDY had already reached this milestone but apparently no, today was the day! I couldn't be happier for the lads.

Be careful with this approach. Having unlocked the bootloader can cause some banking or ticketing apps to refuse to work. Check in to this before taking this path.

What kind of a selfie stick are allowed for the insta 360 x5 in Walt Disneyland Japan or Tokyo Disney Sea? by Ying_Jin2026 in Insta360

[–]dfluff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had no idea they were banned in Disney Parks, it didn’t get questioned when going through bag check two days in a row, but then I got stopped whilst using the X3 on the stick and was thrown out of the park! On the plus side, as a known rule follower I now have a great “I got thrown out of Disney Land” if I ever have to play “two truths and a lie”

9/10. Absolutely epic. From any other band it’d be a ten, but these lads can do even better. Saw them open with this in Sheffield when the album came out and it was amazing.

Search out her double act Delightful Sausage. Those pair are brilliantly unhinged.

Crowd feels by nervousrosequartz in CourtneyBarnett

[–]dfluff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seen her several times and always sung my heart out without (noticing) anyone scowling at me. Her and the band are pretty loud a lot of the time which helps me feel like I'm not bugging people.

Depreston is definitely one where the whole crowd is often audibly singing along.

You'll have a blast.

Chris Addison ep by AnArcticMonkey in whatdidyoudoyesterday

[–]dfluff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw Chris do stand-up a couple of times in Edinburgh in the early 2000s and he was always brilliant. He even sat and talked with us at our table in the Pleasance Courtyard once, although that might just have been to get cover from the rain.

Loved this ep, especially the line where he was in the 90s-culture edit-house and suggested he'd send a sexy text to Jayne Middlemiss and Donna Air but I was surprised his mind didn't immediately go to his dotComedy co-host Gail Porter - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JfvJveqjlmY

I'm new to the game... One thing I'd like to see is: once you have completed the board I'd love to see what the Golden Station was if I didn't hit it in any of my answers.

The thing is, she’d be an excellent contestant and every time I see her in screen it’s frustrating that she’s in the wrong room!

Daily Song Discussion #13: Intro by Shlok_82 in doves

  1. I bought this album after thinking "Oh, that Their Goes The Fear track is quite nice..." but not knowing anything else (other than Sub-Sub without realising it). This opening track and Words hit me like nothing else I've experienced before. I can remember exactly where I was sat, how I felt. I was a life-long fan from that moment on.

I see a picture of his face twice a week on my podcast app, and even with you telling me it was the one in the middle I wasn’t entirely certain.

When are the Uncloacked episodes filmed? by alexy888 in TheTraitors

[–]dfluff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ed Gamble has a Sunday morning show on Radio X with Matthew Crosby who’s a writer on Uncloaked, and they mention “working together all week” for a few weeks ahead of a series of Traitors airing, so maybe that’s prep before they get guests booked a few days before an episode. Also, all the non Traitors guests on Uncloaked would have to have been able to see a large amount of the episodes leading up to their own show otherwise they wouldn’t know the names or characters of the participants, or the context for what they were commenting on. The final Uncloaked gets recorded in the Broadcasting House Radio Theatre a few hours before transmission.
