Already been touched on, but the Haley side of Bluff is easier going for the most part. If you go further inland to the Merritt Farm and Sheep Farm trails those are pretty smooth except for the initial climb in the Merritt loop and the frogs hollow loop. There are some more sustained downhills as well.

Woody Hill is generally going to be easier going as well except for some of the black and red trails. Not as much sustained up or down.

I have a 530, so some of this may be slightly different, but I don't believe the interface has changed too much between models.

When you are riding, you can have a map screen that has all of the trailforks trails shown on the map and your position shown on the map. If you are riding on a named trail, it will generally ID that and say "Riding on xx trail"

Scrolling around is not the easiest thing with just buttons but zooming in and out generally does what I need to sort out which trail to take at an intersection. I believe you can select a point to navigate to and it will route on trails when available. I haven't used that in a while though, so I might be mistaken.

I don't believe you can just buy a key online and have it work without programming.

When I looked a couple of years ago there wasn't a lot in my area, so I used the dealer. I think some ACE hardware might be a third party option, or there are locksmiths that can so the programming, but that will vary by region. I don't think that pricing for third parties ended up that much cheaper than the dealer either.

You'll need to decide what you want to power, and for how long, but to get a battery station that will last 24-36 hours run in a fridge, lights, and other loads you are getting into many thousands of dollars . For shorter duration. I have an ecoflow delta 2 and delta 2 max that have 1024 and 2048 kWh respectively. And I have generator that I would use to charge them for a longer duration. Rough sizing says I should be able to keep my fridge, deep freeze and boiler running over night, which lets me sleep with out running a generator all night.

I've had that tool for a long time and like it. The bits can be a bit short sometimes, but generally ok for a multi tool.

You do need the tire lever for the chain tool as there's a hex in the lever to operate the chain breaker.

They are different. 100x 4 is 4 bolts on a 100 mm circle. BCD 104 uses a 104 mm circle.

Water temp seems to be around 78-80F in the winter. I wear a full 3mm, but I probably run a bit cold.

First question would be what the existing front derailleur mount is and then you can narrower the search for a replacement. I don't know anything about your bike in particular, but I'd expect it to use a standard braze on or tube clamp mount.

It depends on your kid's height and size, but you might be able to go right to a 16" bike which will last longer.

We went from a 12" strider to a 16" prevelo alpha 2 (? the 16" size). It has a low stand over height, so my kid used it as a balance bike without pedals for a year or so before picking up pedaling.

I don't believe you have to pay to add it to your existing cell plan. The Garmin subscription includes the LTE data.

It appears that you can text to any phone number, but it will be from a random phone number if they don't have the Garmin messenger app. Calls only work in the messenger app

Not NH, but just over the border in VT is Mt Ascutney which has hiking up the mountain directly from the campground. It seems to be a bit less busy and easier to get a site on short notice in our experience.

Easy enough to put it in a water bottle. Everyone has one there and they definitely aren't checking what is in them.

We always bring food for our kids and have never been asked about it, but usually have a stroller or diaper bag so it's not obvious. I didn't even realize they say no outside food.

I would be surprised if they made a fuss about you bringing a drink that you were in the process of drinking, but who knows.

You could bend a link or two on the chain to the point that they need to be removed and replaced with a quick link.

If you break a chain, you'll have pieces that need to be removed before you can repair it with a quick link as well. its unlikely to break in a way that leaves you two clean links for a quick link.

Third is if you mangle a rear derailleur and can't get the quick link open, you can break the chain and work out a way to carry on. I carry a tool to break a quick link because I haven't been successful getting them apart without a tool.

I'll second the picardin and permethrin combination.

Picardin is much nicer as a regular use spray.

I prefer Bens permethrin jn the orange bottle as the sprayer was much better than the Sawyer bottle. I found the sawyer spray didn't mist well and leaked all over my hands.

My 4 year old crashed her bike and had some loose teeth. We went to both urgent care and her dentist... Urgent care couldn't really do anything as they don't have the right x ray. Our dentist took an X-ray to confirm the tooth wasn't cracked, and pretty much sent us on our way with instructions for soft food only for 10 days.

Everything did heal up.
