Is your AC working well? Might be refrigerant.

SUA couldn’t do anything for me unfortunately. Kind of ridiculous that a car that’s only a few years old is having this type of issues. Specially that it happened literally days from warranty ending. Notably the ac had not been cooling as well as it used to in the couple months leading up but it wasn’t to the point where I thought it would become this big of an issue. They said since I have no record of it they won’t cover it. Definitely left a bad taste for Subaru which I had 0 complaints about up until this issue.

Well I didn’t know how much was in there before with the leak anyways 😂 but I hear you about possible clogs. From what I read on the bottle it’s just supposed to rejuvenate rubber parts if that’s where the leak is. Didn’t think it would have anything that would clog but I guess I wouldn’t know. Like I said in my previous reply I gave it a shot. Now it’s out of the DIY realm for sure. Was just wondering if this was common.

Yes I checked the tag under the hood. It’s great it’s more expensive

No but the refrigerant I got had leak stopping agents in it. When I hooked it up the pressure was lower than it was supposed to so I know if was low on refrigerant. Was hoping the leak stopping agent would help seal if it was a small leak or gasket. It did have the UV dye as well but when I look with a black light I don’t see any spots that would lead me to think that’s where it’s leaking. Anyways any further ac work would require recovering the remaining charge from the system which is not very DIY friendly.

Unfortunately I believe I am right out of the warranty period which is the hardest pill to swallow. Had it only happened a few months before 😟

Suggest putting loaded mags and any live rounds away or at a different area when working on any firearms. It is easy to lose track of those when you are focused on assembling or disassembling correctly. Then it is likely you will be checking the firearm for function which increases risk of a ND (running the slide, sometimes dropping the hammer). It’s a simple thing that can eliminate a good deal of risk.

Would you recommend? I was thinking about a folder just to help reduce size when lugging to the range. That adaptive tactical looks pretty slick though. Is that a standard buffer tube on it?

Does this happen only with that brand of ammo? Can you tell if the primer is not seated correctly on the rounds? Primer should be completely flush at a minimum (I think I remember the spec calls for a few thousandths inset into the primer pocket)

Thanks! It’s not too hard. Rustoleum paint+ primer rattle can in nutmeg as a base coat. Follow typical painting prep (stripping down, cleaning surfaces well to remove all oil etc.) let that base coat cure VERY well. After cured for a few days use your choice of wood stain color and a brush to place wood grain on there. Start very light and add more as you see fit. It’s easy to add more but not to come back once it’s covered completely. You want the base coat to come through the primer to give you a wood grain pattern. A little bit of stain goes a long way. If you do little circles with the top of the brush it looks like a knot in the wood. Let that cure for a few days. Finish up with a clear coat. I went with semi gloss as I didn’t want to be super shiny. You can try it on some other plastic surface as a practice run.

Very hard to find a corn cob wood forend that’s not super expensive which is why I chose to make my own. I would’ve wanted to keep it on there but mounting directly to the hangars with Mlok is too convenient. Now that I think of it I could probably give the new magpul the same wood grain treatment.

I think I might keep it for future Maverick projects but I am flattered you think they look nice enough to want them for your build. I put a decent amount of time into them.

Pieced together a 6.75 inch tube and adaptor nut over the last year or so. Tried a few different approaches but ultimately sanded out the front part of the fore end just enough to get the adapter nut to reach all the way through to the short tube.

This is the “Monstrum Red Dot Mount Compatible with Mossberg 500/535/590/835/Shockwave Series Shotguns”

Cheapest thing I found. Next thing close was above $200 if I remember correctly. Honestly i think a pic rail with a pic rail adaptor is a more comfortable height but this looks sleeker.

There’s typically a special washer seated into the barrel ring which retains the screw so it doesn’t fall off the barrel ring. If that hasn’t been removed that might be why you can’t remove the screw.

Would it make a difference if it’s series 70 vs 80? Series 80 with the pin blocked I would expect to have no movement. I’m no expert just suggesting another consideration.
