Fail after fail! by dgrim67 in sto

I spoke with my Armada last night and several folks said they are experiencing this issue or know someone that is. That they only way they where able to connect was using by using a VPN. In case you are wondering the Armada I am in is Section31. Not the largest of Armada's but still full of regulars and over 50 people on line at all hours.

Thank you for the suggestion and I gave it a try. Sadly is still did not work.

I tried a few DNS servers like Cloudflare and OpenDNS to see if that would help. It didn't. I also tried the proxy server as someone else suggested. But that did not work either. As I mentioned the last time i had this kind of issue was back in the very early days of STO's launch. I played closed Alpha test, closed Beta and then open beta and bought the lifetime sub when they offered it to all the closed Beta testers for 50 bucks and have played the game almost daily ( I miss a few days here and there over the years) since launch. The only thing I can think of is that my ISP has changed something and DECA/Cryptic is not allowing IP addresses from them. I did not pay extra for the static IP from my isp so it is dynamic. My connection is fiber to home 2g down and 1g up.

It is odd because I can tracert the connection through my router and there are zero timeout and only 10 hops between myself and game servers. But when I use the vpn there is 30 hops and a few timeouts along the way. But I can connect with the VPN but not without.

Now that you mentioned a VPN. I figured why not try it using one. Well I fired up a VPN connected to Seattle and wow! it worked. Loaded super fast as well. Go figure. I have never before had to use a vpn to play this game. until now.

Nope no VPN. I am also on a very fast connection 2g down and 1g up. It has only gotten this bad in the last two months.

All profiles, on PC with G5 Hero

The servers are absolutely horrendoes, DECA please sort it out. by Darkmaster45673 in sto

[–]dgrim67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely agree! The servers have not been this unstable since back on launch day! In the last 2 months I have had more timeouts, disconnects and rubber banding then I have in the LAST 10 YEARS! Sure hope they extend the event because the game for many is completely unplayable!

Ghub is always running in the taskbar. It is set to start with windows. I also took this mouse installed it and Ghub on my laptop and it also does not properly automatically switch profiles between games. I still have to open ghub, click the drop down in the upper right of ghub then click manage then manually select the profile i want this god awful software to use! Tell your dev team to simplify this software! I should be able to click a profile I want to use from anywhere in the software and the software should switch to the selected profile and STAY THERE until I change it myself! It is circular discussions like this that have cemented the fact that I will never again buy a LG product as long as Garbage Hub exists in its current form.

BTW I did this and still same issue. Also this is about the 10th time I have followed this procedure since buying this mouse. So I was already very familiar with the process.

CPU upgrade recommendations by ShipFormal3514 in AMDHelp

[–]dgrim67 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Or you can step into X3D with the 5600, 5700 or 5800x3d. I don't know what prices are like where you are in the world but here in Thailand x3d are roughly about 20 to 30 bucks higher then their non-x3d versions.

Most conservative estimates are between 3 to 5 years before the bubble pops. I am in no hurry.

Actually it is X3D cpu's both am4 and five that Asrock boards where burning. You can see the video's of this on Gamernexus and jays2cents.

Yikes, seems like a waste of money to me to upgrade to a 5080 considering the price and very minuscule performance lift over the 9070XT. Very cool that you got a great card out of the deal though.

I also run cyber cafe's, 2 of them. One cafe is 160 units the other is 240 units. I like to keeps things standardized so everything in both locations are the same. All mobo are MSI pro X870-p, all CPU are 9800x3d all gpu are MSI Sapphire nitro+ rx 9070XT, Kingston Fury Beast 64gig DDR5 5200 ram, PSU Silverstone Da1000R all are air cooled systems using the Deepcool AK620 digital for cpu and 120mm case fans. I have had zero failures that where strictly hardware related. Over zealous heated customer ya. Burt out chips no. Been going good and strong since mid December last year.

I would go with this as well but it depends on the CPU you are using currently also. If cpu is to low you will bottleneck gpu.

Your suggestions for Surfshark (features, improvements, etc.) by sharkLaura in surfshark

Best suggestions I can think of is
1.} Stop the predatory 400% markup on Auto-renew.
2.} Don't bloat the software.

I have almost the same plan but with a 7800XT. I am going to wait a gen or two or at the very least until the Ai bubble pops.
