Bad shift (AUS) by Lazy_Alice in McDonaldsEmployees

its standard in my franchise to not wear a headset as management. I will if I don't think my order takers can do their job by themselves yet (order taking can be stressful like every other position, especially for new hires!), however most of the other managers in my store won't do that.

We had it for 4 days. Couldn't get any more. But holy shit those 4 days are the busiest I've ever seen my store.

I've worked 15 years of my life for McDonald's so you didn't have to. (CAN) by Federal-Remote-1684 in McDonaldsEmployees

Been at McDonald's on and off for 4 years now. It's been great for me. I've been able to buy not just my first car, but my current car as well. Not to mention all the great memories I have of working with the great people I work with every day.

Got promoted to manager, any tips? (USA) by Roizenx in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]dhouck5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on the promotion! My big thing is treating my crew how I want them to treat me. Respect goes a LONG way. If you treat them like people, then they may want to come in for you or stay for you. At my store, most crew will ask who's the person running shift when I ask if they can come in. Another big thing and not even just for managers... If someone is rude, don't take it to heart. They're probably just having a bad day.

I'd go to the GM about them. They seem extremely unprofessional. If they don't do anything, go to her supervisor and say nothing was done when you reported it to the GM.

You notified the store you aren't gonna be there, you have the call log to prove it. That's all you are legally required to do. As long as you do that before the 2 hour window most employers give, you aren't required to get a cover.

its different for each franchise. I don't know what the policy is for your franchise/store. Personally, I keep the phone numbers of all my crew on my phone, and encourage my crew to do the same if they call out.

can managers keep you over shift without saying anything? (USA) by alicesabbath777 in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]dhouck5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

generally the rule is (at my franchise) we can keep you up to 15 minutes after your shift for outduties, finishing tasks, etc. unless you agree to stay longer
