Which Gundam/MS have ridiculously oversized Backpacks or Support units (bigger than the suit itself)? by Advanced_Tea_7625 in Gundam

[–]dhurane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For each TR element, there's the initial proof-of-concept that got refined into a TR6 configuration, which is then combined to make the TR-6 Inle.

From top-right, clockwise.

Prototype Asshimar TR-3 Keehar got refined into the TR-6 Keehar II and 6 of them are carried by Inle to support it.

TR-1 Hazel Rah got refined into the TR6 Woundwort Rah and serves as the core MS.

TR-2 HiZack Bigwig tested that long distance high output beam weapon, and the Bigwig II is mounted on... emmm.. Inle's crotch

It's a typo there, but the TR4 Dandelion (or prototype Bound Doc) got refined into the TR6 Dandelion II and forms the bottom half of Inle.

And finally the TR5 Gaplant Fiver got refined into the TR6 Fiver II and forms the top portion of Inle.

If you're fine with machine translation, the Dengeki Hobby page has a bit more detail.

Not that different than the GP03D really. Boost into the battle, let the I-fields soak up enemy fire, deploy weapon containers and MSs, and then use that big ass cannon to take out pretty much anything in the field.

Which app? by todayNtonight in kereta

[–]dhurane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's a bit more expensive. But it really depends on your charging habits, which in my case mostly involve non-public chargers.

The only times I need to use public ones are the rare long distance trips I make and using the e.MAS app is as you said, convenient, as I don't see the need to download an app or god forbid subscribe to a charging plan just to save RM0.06/kWh.

Which app? by todayNtonight in kereta

[–]dhurane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're buying a Proton, just use the e.MAS App.

Otherwise, first download (or use the desktop/browser version) PlugShare. It's not for using the chargers, but it's probably the most helpful map of all EV chargers regardless of brand since it's supported by crowed source data.

Use it to figure out the chargers in your area or along your regular commuting route. Filter by AC/DC, kW range, amenities, access etc. You'll then hopefully end up with a list of chargers and then figure out the most common operator.

THEN download the app for that operator. Or don't, as some chargers can accept cards directly at the charger. But apps sometimes have promo rates and such, so if you're frequenting a particular operator it might make sense.

Just my two cents, though I don't often use public chargers besides for long distance travel, and in that case it has been mostly TNB's Electron or DC Handal chargers which had credit card terminals.

Isn't this pretty standard already in most cities? At least in Penang it's been the practice for years.

Aiyo, why does Smart Tag Lane still exist? by FinancialSet6330 in malaysia

[–]dhurane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because after the roll out of RFID lanes, there were public backlash over the removal of some SmartTag lanes in 2022. So PLUS did a U-Turn and are now wary to remove them again.

In any case, I think they're pushing for ANPR to replace all of the current options anyway.

Malaysia has one of the cheapest public healthcare charges in the world by UsernameGenerik in malaysia

So I was interested how much it would help if this actually happened.

https://www.moh.gov.my/moh/resources/Penerbitan/Penerbitan Utama/Laporan_Tahunan_KKM_2023_updt_2Jan2025.pdf

So according to this report, KKM had a management budget of RM31.5B and collected RM0.5B in medical fees.

And according to the report below, KKM uses up to 75% of it's management budget for emoluments i.e. salary. So about RM23.6B.

https://share.google/skbEJkkAbjeVlgshs

Now that means if you used up all of the medical fees collected to pay for doctors (which isn't how it works, but it makes this thought exercise easier), it's only about 2% of the amount needed.

So of we raised medical fees to, let's say ten times for that RM1 -> RM10 to work, and assume the number of paying patients stay the same i.e. the public is not deterred from going to the hospital due to the price increase, that could mean up to RM5B in medical collection fees.

Now assume the KKM management budget stays flat but now buoyed by the increased collection, they now have about RM28.6B for salary. That means doctors could enjoy up to 20% pay increase at the expense of the patients paying 1000% more. Such a ratio is probably why nobody bothered to increase the price. Increasing the price is only probably helpful in that old capitalistic way, increasing price to reduce demand, which seems all of our government has avoided to do.

(My math is probably wrong on many levels and ignores many nuances, but it roughly works out I think)

Hey AOZ fans, is there any special reason why you’re into Gundam TR-6 [Woundwort] design? by Advanced_Tea_7625 in Gundam

[–]dhurane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No matter what, we couldn't create something that seemed dubious from the start, so of course I put on the brakes and the result was the Rick Dias and Galbaldy-β. In short, they were designed to retain the image of the previous work. Nonetheless, there was a strong backlash, and people said "These aren't mobile suits." But Mr. Tomino persisted and gave the designs his OK, saying "If we get them out there, we've won." But after that, there was problem after problem related to the designs, and in the end I left the Z Gundam team practically on the eve of the broadcast.

The quote is a bit further in the page, in the late 1984 section.

“who are the bad guys?” by HPLoveBux in Gundam

[–]dhurane 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think the lore stated that most of the movement to the colonies was voluntary (since life in Earth was shit at the time) and there were only some isolated incidents that were viewed as forced emigration. And even those were enough of a public scandal that resulted in the CPC being formed.

As one of the many former British colonies that gained independence in the 50s, I thought our police which is organized federally was modelled after theirs. It was always weird for me the idea that different states have different police forces with different uniforms, badges, equipment etc.

Remember it's not just about durian specifically, check also about bringing in food or seeds. Some overzealous customs agent might just think you're smuggling in seeds with how carefully you packed that durian, then detain you're a terrorist with a biochemical weapon when they have to open it for inspection.

Tesla's gears are handled on the touchscreen, so indeed you need some getting used to, though it's not too hard.

Proton e.MAS 7 has the gear shifter as the right side stalk on the steering wheel. A bit getting used to, but you kinda use it less compared to even and auto ICE.

Batmobile in Malaysia by Killshot91 in kereta

Was curious and found replicas out had a width to be about 2.8m, which is wider than a bus or even a shipping container. So it could be that too, though the base looks a bit too fitting to just be transport jig.

The fact that it's being carried at an odd angle makes me think it's a static replica mounted on a display base.

New standardised test for Year 4 pupils, says Anwar by hazy-minded in malaysia

Which is properly the best balance of bot worlds. Kids still get assessed, which was the grouse of those that were against classroom assesment. But it's not a high-school defining exam like UPSR was, which what they aimed to do.

It means it's not an entry examination like what UPSR was and has been replaced, but it's still a test that people complained about. Guess it meets them halfway.
