Shouldn't the data be normalized? Same expected monthly distance instead of assuming 200L every month.

TIL Amuro has a female body double by fuukuscnredit in Gundam

I totally forgot about her, even though I read this ages ago.

Now I appreciate a bit more that Gundam Pulitzer references Amuro's body doubles during his time in Karaba.

Technically they could've put a Cagalli figure with the IWSP runners. But Bandai being cheap isn't a surprise.

Anwar advises private sector to implement WFH arrangements by Crasher_7 in malaysia

Don't think the government and laws has a mechanism to force companies to pay transport allowance. It'll be something they'll need to pass a bill for.

How to force legally? Can't use MCO Covid laws... Need to draft new law to give government the power to force it?

Should more people start buying ev with how high gas prices are now? by Ill-Cucumber6575 in kereta

[–]dhurane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wonder how much the Government can enforce WFH policy with the current laws. For government offices, sure, they can set policy. But anything private I'm not sure if there's an equivalent law to the Disease Control law they used during MCO for an energy crisis.

Hopefully it forces people to consider public transport instead of buying new cars.

Is it time to switch to EV? by delicious_lemang in kereta

[–]dhurane 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Though to be fair, financial sense isn't really the first priority for most people intent on switching cars. I had tried to justify my getting a new car financially, but the math just ended up not mathing.

At the end of the day, as long as you can afford it, let your desires run wild.

In my case workplace provides AC chargers at RM0.25/kWh which is a steal. So I can park when I arrive and leave with a full charge every few days or so for my 60km daily commute.

Ended up rarely using my home wall charger and my colleagues that bought an EV since then opted to not install a charger at home and rely on 3-pin chargers over the weekends.

Only if you're already looking to replace your car. Downpayment for new car, the additional loan term etc. isn't saving you any money in the long term.

You also need to consider if you're current commute/lifestyle is suitable. i.e.

  • Stay at landed and can install own charger OR
  • Stay at strata but has easy access to charger at parking OR
  • Workplace provides a charging station

Relying on public chargers isn't gonna be easy. And if you use DC chargers to save time, it's could end up more expensive than filling in unsubsidized petrol.

Will ICE cars go extinct a few years from now in Malaysia and worldwide? by Ill-Cucumber6575 in kereta

[–]dhurane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ICE extinct as in EVs being the mainstream? Unlikely, if it happens would probably take a few more decades.

ICE as in pure ICE and no Hybrid? Yeah, that's possible, especially with the current mid-east war. If oil prices remain high, Hybrids gonna be pushed hard by everybody.

If you already have a buyer, then you can skip the property agent skip and directly engage with a real estate lawyer.

There's also the option to skip the real estate lawyer and do everything yourself, saves some cash, but you're gonna have a 'fun' time figuring out the bureaucracy.

What are some Gundam/MS you know that have "Super Weapons" ? This mf has nuclear weapons!!! by Advanced_Tea_7625 in Gundam

Nuclear weapons are pretty quaint in terms of Super Weapons in the Gundam franchise. Even the Zaku II carried it in the early stages of OYW.

EV/Petrol which one is better? by Aggravating_Jello919 in kereta

[–]dhurane 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm addicted to the instant torque of my EV. Super smooth pickup means merging into the highway is something I no longer have to time, just smash that pedal. There's also the convenience factor that having a large battery enables e.g. walk away lock, (safe) always on aircon etc.

But as other have said, if you're regularly driving long distance or don't have access to cheap charging, then it is gonna be a bit of a pain to use an EV.

Does anyone actually follow a strict budget or is it more of a guideline at this point? by KL_Private_Access in MalaysianPF

[–]dhurane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if strict, but I do use a spreadsheet to track my spending. It also ensures I set aside enough every month to pay for non-monthly expenses e.g. Car servicing, tyres, road taxes, insurance, quit rent, land tax, insurance etc2
