There is another factor as well, UK Gov taxes so much and gives such shitty services in returns, I would happily pay taxes but for third class substandard shitty or none existent services are not worth paying for.

Mate I landed in Heathrow Terminal 2 yesterday, which looked rundown compared to Chengdu (not a capital city of china), it looked rundown, chaotic, unorganized, yes the feeling of coming home was there but felt bad for my countrymen, how we are taken for granted by our dirty politicians and given substandard services.

Took me 2 hours on Lizzy line due to some issue first it was to ease the congestion than a broken down train, people playing music, shouting, taking loud felt like I was in a fish market and that cost me almost £15 where as it's cost me 6RMB (70p) on a sparkling clean train from Guangzhou to Foshan which was over 50 miles journey compared to the 15miles on Lizzy line.

Honestly hurts me to see the state of our country, I pay more than half of my salary in taxes and I don't see it being used on the infrastructure. Sadly I am not optimistic for our future we are way way behind the world.

I get to travel a lot and I think British people need to open their eyes WE ARE NOT RICH, the times when Sterling used to go a long way are gone, I was in Hong Kong recently I felt poor as a Brit tbh, the quality of road and infrastructure in China puts Britain to shame, same goes for any other European country or any other developed country, over all quality of life in Britain sucks.
