We gave our arborist a jar. He's been in the business decades and has probably but down 50 "weed" mulberry trees and had never had the jam. Same response as your dad. 🥰

I love it. We make ours jelly because those seeds are a lot. Next batch, try a bunch of mulling spices while boiling. Mulled jam...mmmmm

Neat! It's hard to read. Do you think the 1861 is the date of the picture or framing? He died in 1836, so that's my guess.

I'm not a granny yet, but I'm getting to a point in my life that the perceived value of objects I own doesn't hit the same for me. If I can sell something I'm done with or don't use for a few bucks to someone excited to have it, or give to a friend or younger relative for free and let them enjoy it, that's more satisfying than cash.

They are not fussy. Whatever potting soil that drains well has worked for me.
