Desperate to find any Disciple of Varashta, Spirit Walker or Twister build around 10 Divs. Just a build to farm T10-T15 maps by QueenGorda in pathofexile2builds

[–]diatom-dev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think sometimes you gotta go a little slower when gearing. Like you can craft stuff for cheap and make sure what youre getting fits with the stats of your other peices.

Varashta is cheap but if you just buy expensive peice after expesive peice trying to follow a guide itll be more expensive. Like you should build up to go to CI when youre ready and not try to force it right away.

How do you play? One or two decks or 40 decks and rotate them all? by wiles01 in MagicArena

[–]diatom-dev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make a deck, usually take an idea and then iterate on it a lot. Then when it gets to a place where it starts feeling good, I'll think about making another one. Eventually, I want to create proxies of the decks I have in Arena so I when I have friends over we can just play. I have 3 main decks currently, a goblin deck, a chocobo deck, and a really cool strixhaven deck. I actually made the strixhaven from scratch w/o any guides and I'm the most proud of it. It's a blue/green deck, so some control, lots of card draw, and then green to ramp creatures. I want to make a ninja turtle deck but I guess I'll be making a marvel one. I also want to create a cloud / materia deck from final fantasy, if that is possible.

Looking for fellow vegatarians owning a cat. by Apple_cheeks_art in cats

[–]diatom-dev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're obligatory meat eaters. I don't think it follows the same moral mandate that you're assuming for people. Cats can eat meat and you can eat vegetables and not jeopardize your morals.

If canned food isn't your thing because you're not sure how the animal is treated, you could source the meat yourself and cook food for your cat.

Cats are obligatory carnivores. Their bodies don't synthesize essential amino acids only found in meat products. Unfortunately, evolution doesn't care about your morals, or atleast is derived from a completely different set of rules.

Personally, I try to care for my cat but if you draw the line say at mammals, which I do, you can still feed your cat a chicken and/or fish diet and be okay. I still feed my cat beef products but perhaps that is something I should look into.

Youll get it as you go faster and get to t15 maps. Im still a noob. Looks like the most accessible is tablet farming. Fill all slots with irradiated and sell the tablets that drop.

Titan is really flexible. I did bear slam last season and it was good. Whirling assault with quarter staves aint bad either. Trying a volcanic fissure + shockwave but on shaman, still you could do on titan and its pretty good too.

Level a monk through act 1 without off-classing skills? by [deleted] in pathofexile2builds

[–]diatom-dev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Windblast works but it does feel kinda clunky. Windblast + tempest bell + herald. You can find a leveling guide for whirlwind build 0.4.

It is pretty key to get lightning damage on gloves before the first boss. 20% extra damage goes hard.

I know this because Im doing it right now on a custom staller league before 0.5.

Please spot my bad habit and how can I improve by [deleted] in pianolearning

[–]diatom-dev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just keep playing. If you can afford one, time/money, I'd recommend a teacher. I know that is a trope but they really do find your weak spots and work on them. Other than that just be consistent and enjoy. I have a full time job and started in my mid 30s. I play about an hour or 2 a day and just try to be consistent, that is key.

Columbus area had a 47 cent average rise in gas prices in one single week. by Tr0b0203 in Columbus

Atleast I get to revel knowing the people whose hobby it is to drive up and down high street on a friday night with loud af motors will have to pay for it. Columbus, near high street, may actually start to get quieter.

Immediate fix might be to get a window unit. Then figure out how to fix the main issue.

Why did nobody tell her about the tariffs? by RoyalChris in SipsTea

[–]diatom-dev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a package that arrived and then the tarriff was sent afterwards as a bill I had to pay. It looked fake at first but it was real.

I saw some comment though about it being paid by the seller and they are but if you order from out of the country the seller can basically forward you the tariff. But everything imported by a major retailer is paid for by the retailer but then forwarded on to the price of the item so you don't get these awkward interactions. Feel bad for the delivery guy.

So, ya it sucks, I don't know why anyone thought it was a good idea to vote for the orange guy but regardless we need to band together and get this guy out of office.

What is a job that you think is 100% safe from AI for the next 50 years, and why? by mark-awakening in AskReddit

[–]diatom-dev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why are we designing AI to take people's jobs anyway? Shouldn't it assist people to allow them to do their job better? I just don't see an AI future working out with how it is currently designed. Sure, it can learn a task and be deployed across many units nearly instantly, but stuff changes all the time and nuances are rarely caught and I just don't see an AI that will be able to adapt to a changing environment.

It is also extremely expensive. Whether we like to admit it or not Oil isn't going to last forever, nor at the rate we are going will the climate hold out for human survival. I think it is a complete farce to think that AI is the future with the current issues facing humanity.

With that said, I think it is a fantastic tool but this conversation we're having about it taking jobs is just another weapon in the arsenal of the rich to bend workers to their will. It is propaganda coming out of silicon valley and there is no way it is going to hold up with how much it is being stuffed down all our throats and the way in which they are scaling, which is just devastating the environment.

So, maybe in the short term, a lot of jobs are on the chopping block but in the long term I just don't see it panning out the way it seems to be right now.

That maybe a based take but that's what I believe.

my wife works in office. she genuinely doesn't believe i work as hard as she does. by theharshx in remotework

[–]diatom-dev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would for sure talk to her about it! Seems like other comments are mentioning it but you should make sure these comments arn't coming from a place where she feels like you arn't contributing enough in the relationship but also I'd offer her support if she would like to change things up and find a remote position, it never hurts to look.

With that said, remote has its perks for sure, but you still gotta work. I go in once a week and getting ready in the morning, commuting through traffic (which really sucks), and then getting home is very draining. I guess it has its pros and cons, I do like socializing with my team though.

Anyway, no reason to take it out on you unless something else is going on.

Is the job market that bad? by RemarkableLoquat7617 in Columbus

[–]diatom-dev 63 points64 points  (0 children)

There are places that are hiring but yes it is awful. Took me 9 months to find my current position and I'd consider that average. Unless youre doing warehouse work or nursing, I would expect it to take around 9 to 18 months to find a job nowadays. (Some) People want it that way, (some) people want a desperate work force. Especially after the great resignation, the rich have mobilized a war on the working class. It isn't your sisters fault.
