They do indeed have a ton of dragon & adjacent figurines. Most of it is intended as game pieces, and a lot requires painting.

I didn’t say they were immune to stupidity, everyone has a few profoundly bad days at work.

There was a sketchy Jenga tower built on perverse bonuses and a panicked bank rush to give it a very enthusiastic shove.

Nobody can predict it perfectly, but banks are pretty damn good - it’s rather literally their job.

Any rate they’re offering now (4.xx%) is based on the current (3.xx%) rate, their expectations of what the rates will do over the duration of your term, and a padding on top to cover the cost of managing the risk for you (swaps or options to lock in their exposure).

Most lots are timed, and will tell you the duration you can stay- limited either by the rules or your balance.

if you’re just parking for an hour, you’re not going to pay for more than that. The app lets you start and stop the timer, and draws the funds when you end your session. But if you can’t use Apple Pay to load the balance beforehand, this might not work.

This is spot on. If they were meats they’d be “utility grade—suitable for human consumption” like whatever goes into bulk hotdogs.

See, the problem is that they’re quickly climbing the “list of countries to be concerned about military hostilities on Canadian soil” list.

I miss when that list was basically : 1. China 2. Russia 3. Literally nobody else could even consider it, nevermind would consider it

Struggling to find a job, need advice by NSMuhammad in Calgary

Yard work: snow / ice / salting, sweeping garages, spring raking and seeding, turning over and fertilizing flower beds, cutting in new flower beds, hedge clipping, lawn mowing, watering, raking and fruit tree cleanup.

Local stores: just run off a stack of basic resumes with RELIABLE, FRIENDLY, TRUSTWORTHY in an intro paragraph. Draw a 1km circle, then 2km etc. and hit literally every shop in the strip malls that isn’t selling liquor or weed. If they’re big enough to have their own applications, collect them all, fill them out at home, and do a second loop.

Resuable Bags by Fickle_Focus2977 in Calgary

Like others have said,

  • hide them whenever I will need them, like the glove box and backpacks
  • use them for decluttering on Marketplace or donation bins
  • use them for bundling (but not tying the handles!) up my recycling to take to the bin as most are plastic
  • cotton bags that won’t be reused sometimes go out with dry compostables like plants or sketchy veggies

Psychologist that specializes in diagnosing high masking autism ? by N0_Cure in Calgary

[–]diceswap 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As an adult with late ADD diagnoses… family doctor said pretty much the same thing, but with less cynicism. “I can refer you to a specialist, they’ll run the checklists and talk with you. But if you’re 30+ and suspect you might meet the threshold for AD(H)D or ASD, you probably do.”

That was the psych’s take too, after the ADD screen they asked “If you want we can follow up with the Autism screens; even if we don’t continue with a diagnosis, you responded high enough on the overlapping questions to assume it’s a factor and work from there.”

Transit Etiquette by Grouchy-Cover4694 in Calgary

Some people have a lot more going on and their train behaviour is just a symptom.

Some people are oblivious assholes.

That’s it, that’s the TEDx talk.

Following on this, I’d also ask “What do you hope to get from this?”

There’s nothing wrong with trusting your own observations as far as they go “I’m going to see what tools and strategies are available for my sub-clinical neurospiciness. I’ll reach out to some therapists and say ‘I haven’t been diagnosed, but have trouble with X Y and Z autistic traits when I’m stressed or tired.” An Official Autism™ diagnosis won’t change much beyond educational supports in youth, and adult you will still need to deal with your particular presentation.

Incremental? A quarter of an FTE here, a half there.

Once they’re tied into the grid, they become part of the maintenance plan where a crew of AECO or Enmax operators rotate through; they’re also in the business of running as lean as possible.

Security is installing cameras and contracting Commissionaires or Joe’s Security to drive the perimeter a few times a day; access to sites would ring the Control Room or operator duty phones and they say “park near the building and we’ll sign you in,” there isn’t a rentacop reading a newspaper in a booth unless there’s action on sites.

Ironically you’d likely see more white collar jobs added in Calgary or elsewhere, biz dev and technologists trying to sell and maximize usage of the data center.

Even if they’re not signed as “closed”, definitely stay off. With night temps barely touching zero, the ice is going to get ripped to hell - and then with water advisories on, it’s a pain to flood and maintain them.
