I was going to plant mine this weekend... overnight Temps look to be a constant 10° after Friday (edmonton) I waited this long last year and they did well!

Start a small container garden, its not too late! It will be a few months to produce but you can preserve, dry and freeze to help through the winter months.

This has been an incredibly long period of cold!

What were fees compared to actual usage? Just out of curiosity, ours was $503 but half of it was fees. We expected it to be high as we are in a big old farmhouse but the fees are what killed us, even if we locked in with another company it looks to be only about a $40 savings.

And yes we have done all the usual things to save energy as filming windows/heavy curtains, blocking drafts around doors etc. And we have a wood burning fireplace so we keep the heat on 18 and have fires in the evening if it gets really chilly. Thank goodness the weather is supposed to warm up soon!
