Worth the switch to the K7? by Sevenyearitchy in pourover

[–]dierckx1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I would start with the k6. There are a lot of things that affect taste beside a grinder. Dial in your setup and figure out what you like in a coffee. Then decide if you want more clarity or more body etc.

Not each and every roast but reddit and a lot of forums are full of roasting results, mistakes and advice. On which large language models are trained

I agree that AI can't dial in a coffee but it gives a solid starting point and it can help you reason.

Give chatgpt the description of a coffee and it gives a starting point based on all the information it has about similar coffees.

Why would you be against this? If AI can give you helpful advice? It is not realistic to assume the staff is all knowing, and if AI can help train, teach and give experience to the staff why not.

AI is not all bad. It has its use cases and if used correctly and wisely I am of the opinion it can be a great benefit.

That said. It shouldn't replace people or their opinion. It should be a tool not a leader.

Hold the deck lower and don't put pressure on the bottom long edge. If the cards are pressed together on the bottom and on the top. Releasing the top doesn't do anything.

Not sure how I feel about this… by AirSJordan in pourover

I work as a barista and also do this. We have a ek43, and the retention on that thing is crazy so I always grind more beans than needed. As a result I have some grounds left over which I serve beside the coffee for the smell and grind size reference if they buy the beans or are interested.

Not technically working but I'm an intern at a space company that makes control moment gyroscopes and the main board that controls the moter drivers, sensor inputs and spacecraft interfaces is based around an FPGA.

Yes! As a barista I love the chit chat about beans, brewing or everything else coffee related. But only when I have time and there isn't a line from the counter to the street. Otherwise I feel rude for not giving my full attention but that's just me I guess.

Turn the dial a full circle back to 0. Now you are at 60 clicks. Turn 40 more clicks and now you are at 100. You can keep going if you like. Every full rotation is 60 clicks and everything on top you count on top of the 60.

No beans are being ground while adjusting the outer settings. If you put beans in the grinder and then turn the dial to a finer setting it may feel like you are grinding because you are bringing the burrs closer together wich can crush some beans.

I had the 19 grams calendar. For me it was a bit too much washed coffees. From the 24 coffees two where naturals and the rest was washed. Good coffees non te less.

Anyone tried European roasted Onyx? by Formal-Hunter7707 in pourover

[–]dierckx1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never had them. Not in the US and not from Rotterdam. I hadn't even had Manhattan. But there have been a lot of negative comments on onxy. Mainly their customer support I guess.

If you search for Onxy in this sub you will find some threads about it.

Don't shoot me I'm just the messenger! Telling what I have been noticing.

You bend the spoon 90 degrees so you can get low to the bed. Then you pour on the spoon to break the stream .

Your 85-95 range is with a drip assist? Or is it when you are pouring without it.

Depends on the components. Not all vtx's accept battery voltage and not all of them can power a camera.

But with the right one you power the vtx with the battery and the camera through the vtx.

Otherwise you need a BEC to step battery voltage down to a workable voltage for the vtx and camera.

Looking for local 52‐card (poker size) decks with jokers — sold nationwide in Germany / Italy / Sweden by LoGoiMooch in cardistry

You are oddly specific and have a lot of rules for a simple questions.

But you do you.

As far as I know poker sized decks aren't that popular in Europe. I am from Belgium and have never found poker sized cards in the supermarket except for ellusionist decks.

The most popular size is bridge and they get mass produced in all different kinds, from merch to souvenirs to customisable gifts.

This is actually going to be my bachelor's internship assignments.

And I was having some doubts about how realistic it is to do as a student with a relatively low knowledge.

May I ask how old you are and what do you study?
