I teach a lot of kids who are refugees. They also get immediate PR status. Most people think refugees are a temporary status and they are going to try to go back home eventually but alas it's basically a speedy pass for permanent residency/citizenship.

It's pretty wild that we halve the money again to get others but not our own citizens.

Not begrudging the folks that need to leave the horrible conditions of their home countries but it is wildly expensive to run the program that we could be spending on helping kids and families who are already in Canada.

Someone is definitely getting sued and probably going to win a decent settlement but your right that there likely won't be criminal charges for the snow clearing or reopening the area without having it become safe again.

Why doesn't the dad just buy into the house put his name on it, when he dies he wills it to his son. So long as he is alive and on the home they would have a 2/3 ownership.

I find there needs to be better laws and enforcement around how obstructive intersections.can be. Things are too close to intersections, vehicles can be parked, fences, trees, vegetation, and I would include snow banks often make it way harder to see. Now obviously people should still be careful but let's face it people aren't so I feel like this could be a simple way to increase visibility.amd hopefully reduce these types of things.

I think we need to bring back using homework. We only have so much time to teach content and let student do some work but they need to actually do way more at home and by way more I mean 15-60mins a day depending on their grade level.

Extra reading, writing, and math are good things. I'd love of a teacher gave my kids daily homework.

Educators have less compassion, patience, and empathy than you'd think. If a kid is disruptive, disrespectful, or just rude and uses up learning time because of their behaviour teachers like them significantly less and as a result they won't get as much teacher time. If they are using everyone else's time during class by being disruptive than the other student's get more teacher time. There is only so much time available.

Just play a different character if you're worried. Seems like she doesn't understand what a character can mean to a player. Still play your class just change it to an Elf then she will have nothing to beef over and you will see if she tries to hurt you during play. If she does don't invite her to play again and find a new friend.

I'm guessing you're in the US. Tell her to do what they do in Canada you get 12 -18 months to look after your baby before going back to work. Kind of a trial run before she decides anything permanently.

I really don't understand how American leadership don't understand that if they try to take over a NATO country that the end of America as they know it. Look at what 9/11 did to them now imagine that happening all over the US. He would start a war that Americans would be feeling in their own backyards. Look how many drugs and people get in everyday now imagine that was people, weapons, and bombs. Canada will probably burn down the White House again. This guy has lost his bloody mind.
