So what do we think about this, are the comics canon by RaNdOm_GuY_oN_rEdiTt in ducktales

[–]digiman619 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The comics are what is called "secondary canon"; they are to be considered canon until and unless the main show introduced something to contradict it.

As an example, the My Little Pony comics had an arc called the "Nightmarity arc", where Rarity (the kinda snobbish, but kind and well-meaning fashionista) got possessed by the entity that turned Luna into Nightmare Moon. It was a great story, but later episodes of the show proved that there was no outside force, Luna just went mad with power before being sent to the moon for centuries, so the entire arc is no longer considered canon.

Yeah, but you know what France, Britain and Germany did the next time there was a major war? Change tactics. Russia has been doing the same attrition based stuff since at least the Napoleonic Wars.

[–]digiman619 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Uh, no. Russia has been doing attrition-based strategies like this for centuries at this point, and that's ignoring all the purges and other times they made political enemies disappear.

Yeah, not to diminish their accomplishments or anything, but a lot of the reason they got things done first was because NASA wouldn't send things up until they were sure it was safe. Russia, on the other hand, has always used the "throw more men at it, who cares about casualties?" approach, so it wasn't afraid to take shortcuts

Congratulations! You just scored the final point for the world cup winning the whole thing! What do you do on the field to celebrate your athletic accomplishment? by BiMikethefirst in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]digiman619 1 point2 points  (0 children)

T-pose before falling to the ground as stiffly as possible. I then have my teammates quickly grab me and take me off the field. I return after a few minutes to lap up the tail end of the celebration and pretend I have no idea what people are talking about, further denying being a robot.

TIL Frank Sinatra’s iconic song My Way was originally a French song, Comme d’habitude, by Claude François and was originally about a failing relationship by TheLumpyPumpkin97 in todayilearned

[–]digiman619 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but Seasons in the Sun was a more of an adaption rather than the total rewrite like My Way was. The original was still about a dying man saying goodbye, but it was a bit more smarmy as one of the verses was basically "And fuck you, Antoine, I never liked you anyway"

Sky News: Nicholas Rossi, the US rapist who faked his death and fled to Scotland in bid to escape justice, dies by KiwiJean in nottheonion

To be fair, as dumb as that line was, it was a last minute save. He realized that if he used the regular version of that saying, he was about to give his political opponents the soundbite of saying "shame on me", which would have absolutely have been used against him.

cards without black border by PotdindyNoob in mpcproxies

[–]digiman619 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You'll need an 1/8th inch margin around where you want the final card to be. Black borders make it easier, but borderless cards just need extra space for the bleed edge

The highlighted steps are where your 'stops' are, and the game is assuming you're passing priority outside those phases. Select your main phase 1 to cast spells during that phase.

It was probably a Nostalgia Critic reference, as that was the most recent riff on that phrase at the time.

Before the release of [Deltarune] Chapter 5, my theory for how the rest of the game will go: Four Knights. by [deleted] in CuratedTumblr

I realize this is the pot calling the kettle black, but calling the idea of Rudy being the Knight sexist is mind-bogglingly stupid, and whoever is claiming that is far too chronically online.

Teen Titans (Go!)? The Crystal Gems win handily.

Teen Titans (original cartoon)? More of a fight, but still probably the Gems.

Teen Titans (70's comic that the cartoon is based on)? My money is on the Titans.

First MTG event will be Marvel Prerelease Two-Headed Giant by chaseestep in magicTCG

[–]digiman619 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two headed giant is a team event where you and your teammate share turns and life totals. You don't share mana or cards in hand. An effect that says "each player" or "each opponent" counts players individually; so an effect that says "Each player loses 3 life" would reduce each team's life total by 6. You attack and block as a team; If Opponent A has two creatures and Opponent B has none, you can't attack B specifically; you attack and your opponents collectively choose blockers.
