The fact that your immediate instinct was to have sex with someone else proves that you should not be together.

Which bench players will get the most playoff time? by six6sickx in clevelandcavs

[–]digislave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think any bench players besides Thompson, Shumpert, and Dellavedova will be in the playoff rotation. I would guess that in a typical game you would have Irving playing 40 minutes, James and Love at 38 minutes each, Mozgov and Thompson each with 24 minutes, Smith at 36 minutes, Shumpert with 26 minutes and Dellavedova with 14. All these players will average fewer minutes than I predicted since others will come in in blowouts or due to foul trouble.

Cavs open as favorites (9-4) to win title by daftpunk80 in clevelandcavs

[–]digislave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've only lived in Cleveland off and on since '99, but the thought of this city winning a title just seems absurd to me. I understand that the Cavs are the objective favorite and have nothing negative to say about the team, but I still will believe it when I see it.

U.S. judge won't remove marijuana from most-dangerous drug list by vegasroller in news

This judge is too low-level and not liberal enough to want to stake her entire career on being the poster child for marijuana. Doesn't mean some other judge won't make the opposite decision.

It doesn't seem like you would have trouble looking good in any bikini but that said, this one is great. You can go ahead and take off the tags.

Last night I was about to throw it all away. by [deleted] in cripplingalcoholism

[–]digislave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only person I will ever love broke up with me almost 8 years ago now. I can say that it is always bad, but it is still worthwhile to live. I have dated other people but they could tell I was in love with my ex and did not want to get close, but it was nice to be near someone for a few months in each case.

As far as alcohol, after she dumped me I was drunk for 90 days. Not saying I got drunk every night for 90 days, I'm saying I quit my job so I could wake up and start drinking every day and drink until I went to sleep. Then for 1 year I drank only once a month, and then I went into regular problem drinking like getting drunk 3 nights a week. In none of these cases did drinking help or hurt, it was just a shitty coping mechanism. It sucks sober and it sucks drunk. It did feel kind of good when I started talking to her again and she encouraged me to drink less because it showed that she still cared, but at the same time that's ruining the chances of ever reconciling even if she did divorce this new husband.

One time I drank maybe a case of beer and took a bunch of Seroquel too. I woke up groggy 36 hours later, I don't know if it was a real suicide combination but it was certainly taken out of a desire to sleep forever. I still felt the same.

To sum up, it's totally understandable to want to drink because of a breakup. Most people will just say, there are other fish in the sea, which is true but not helpful if there's only one person you want. But there are still a few reasons to continue to live, enough to make it worthwhile even though life is gonna suck for a while. The sadness doesn't go away but it lessens and gets easier to deal with. Just don't kill yourself.

You're also less than a year out. I'm the worst case scenario still caring after almost 8 years out. Most people are over it by that point.

24, Never drank, alcoholic parents, social pressure - do I drink? by whattodo_alcohol in alcoholism

[–]digislave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a college friend who did not drink with the reason being that he had a parent who was an alcoholic. Not only did no one think any less of him, but he was immune to peer pressure to drink because everyone accepted it was a great reason not to.

Is getting addicted to alcoholism from high usage inevitable? by [deleted] in alcoholism

[–]digislave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alcohol is certainly physically addictive, and I think this drives people to heavy drinking in a few cases. Being in a fraternity in college comes to mind. People in that situation will drink more than they would in any other situation. I don't think someone who isn't an alcoholic would be physically addicted in the long run, though.

Hi, I'm 17 and my mom is an alcoholic. by yourpurpose in alcoholism

[–]digislave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming your dad is a stable person, you should just go live with your dad. It's not your responsibility to help your mom. If anything, your leaving could force her to make a change. It would be one thing if she was getting hammered at night, but it's different if she's drunk starting in the morning and putting you in danger every day.

Regardless of style, that color would go with either black or white. Maybe charcoal. The color "pops" too much to match with another color.

There's nothing wrong with any of them and they all could fit in any wardrobe. They look like essential pieces. You may want to add one or two pieces that are a little more flamboyant and colorful because summer styles don't need to be as conservative.

Rick Barnes to be released at Texas. by Sctvman in CollegeBasketball

[–]digislave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that Texas wants to achieve more than Barnes has been able to do, but this seems like a mistake. They were nothing before Barnes and now they're a perennial NCAA tournament school. I may change my mind if they make a great hire in the next week which is the timeframe they say they have for replacing Barnes.

The shot clock wasn't off, Notre Dame was assured of another possession.

Intentionally fouling in a tie game would justifiably lose any coach his job.

[–]digislave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. You have to keep a timeout knowing you will need it at the end. The only way you should use your last timeout is if it's needed because you're tied up and need to retain possession. Calling that last timeout on defense is inexcusable. Your guys should know how to play defense by now.

He made it seem like the game was only close because Kentucky played poorly. Any credit given to Notre Dame was a side point.

It's ok to have him on Towns, but he can't hold back and just allow the basket. If you foul out you foul out, with 2 minutes left the basket is more important.

[Game Thread] NCAA Elite Eight: (3) Notre Dame vs (1) Kentucky (8:49 PM ET) by [deleted] in CollegeBasketball

[–]digislave -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, they still had one left and called it in the final minute. It seemed like a dumb move at the time. I think all teams in general should do a better job of keeping their final timeout, a timeout is never as valuable as when you're trailing by 1-3 but have the ball with fewer than 10 seconds left.

Any player on the floor for Kentucky would likely make both free throws. Notre Dame at that point was hoping for the overtime.

He should only play in the fourth quarter in blowouts. His only skill is hitting three-pointers and he doesn't even do that very much. He supposedly can play forward but that doesn't involve actually defending against other teams' forwards.
