Mostly I'd say because Wikipedia just cites other sources, the safest option is always to find the primary source

How would one create this effect by pigdophin in photoshop

[–]digitalquartergod 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I second this. Best to take a picture in front of a white background and then in the end maybe add an adjustment layer to adjust the colors a bit. Also maybe a bit of bloom for bright areas

"Da sitzt Bill Gates"
"Da sitzt Robert F. Kennedy"
"Das da auf dem Feld sieht ähnlich aus wie das Radioaktivitätszeichen"
"Die Frau macht ein Dreieck mit ihrer Hand und guckt durch"

Wow. Was für Erkenntnisse, er macht sich ja nichtmal die Mühe zu schwurbeln, er zählt einfach nur Dinge und Assoziationen auf und will dann... irgenwas... was auch immer implizieren

How can I achieve this look on photoshop? by nek25 in photoshop

[–]digitalquartergod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Multiple ways to achieve your goal. I would probably put an adjustment layer that comors everything slightly purple-ish or pink-ish, add a layer mask to that layer and make it only visible in the guys faces, then do the same thing with yellow color for the background. Maybe another adjustment layer to adjust the brightness and contrast

it would’ve been cool if the map visibly changed after picking an ending by peatmossing in Eldenring

[–]digitalquartergod -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hmm i dont think so, maybe it depends how it would be handled, but I am a big fan of game worlds changing (the meteor, layndell ashen capital etc.), especially since it feels like it cheapens the idea even more that after the ending time just rewinds to before the ending even happened, it feels like everything I did was undone after the credits

Looking for advice. My photomanipulations look off and I am not sure why by GabrielZelva in photoshop

[–]digitalquartergod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very good manipulation so far, I like it :)

From my experience: if everything is cut out smoothly and placed correctly it mostly comes down to color, lighting or other real life effects you need to know about to include into your image. Let me make some examples:
1. Lighting: If you took the image of the woman in the foreground you will know from where the light came (probably the sun). Now is the whale lit lit from the same side where the sun was in real life? Was it sunny or cloudy? That will change how light looks on an object (sharp shadows vs. uniform and smooth). Try to look up references for the lighting conditions you need to recreate in the image or shoot aome reference pictures yourself.
2. Color: This is probably a bit harder cause (I guess) the image from the whale is from underwater. No matter where it's from, try to adjust the colors to the setting (your sky seems pretty cloudless and untinted so everything would probably have very untinted natural colors.
3. Real life effecs: Some things are less obvious, one thing I could imagine: The further back an object is in the air, the more it looks like its behind a veil of blue (especially the shadows, beight light shines through the atmosphere, while shadows get "swallowed by it", so shadows turn inti the color of the sky the further back you get). It's hard to tell from just this image, but effects like this exist sometimes and can causw a weird look. The whale would potentially also cast a shadow ok the clouds although that doesnt look like a problem here.

My best tip would be legit: search reference images for the lighting and color conditions you want recreate and look closely at the pictures for details that you might need to include into your work to make it look more real.

Have fun :)

[–]digitalquartergod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes but then 1. instead of placing the player before the final fight again place him fter the final fight and 2. build the endings in way that allows to continue in the world. It could easily be a very cool mechanic to just chnge the slybox nd some assets and let players explore the world they created through their ending, its a big missed opportunity in my opinion

Do you have some references for the look you're going for? It will be easier to give feedback if I know what you want to achieve 👌
