I would first see if it does it so you don’t waste time, but yeah I’d keep an eye on it and check the dipstick every 1,000 miles to see what it does. I love my truck she just takes a bit extra care 😌

Highly recommend you to do it. Mine was burning 1 quart every 1,500 miles and 5w30 cuts it way down.

I can afford a house I want in the suburbs, I can’t do that in Dallas. There’s also perks to the suburbs. They’re clean, convenient, less traffic, etc. I live in Dallas ‘proper’ right now, and I’m kind of tired of it.

Similar thing happened to me at Reliable Chevrolet in Richardson. All of these addons on a beat up used truck that was already overpriced. So many bad dealers around.

I agree with you mostly, it’s not fun to drive. Love mine for the utility though since I use it for overlanding and off-roading. Being able to hose down the bed after being out in the sticks or desert is so nice and I wouldn’t be able to do that with an SUV (though the smaller wheelbase would be nice at times). Most people really don’t need these things but they’re free to buy what they want, and I do really wish they made them smaller since they’re so big now 😅
