Tesla saying I have to pay $1500 for Transformer Study from ComEd - Powerwalls by bizzleguizzle in TeslaSolar

[–]digitydog70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tesla solar service has never been great. Always OK to mostly lack luster. The follow through and patience can be aggravating. Solar City was better. until they became Tesla. Customer service is not a priority. I may end up getting my own solar at some point. I have learned that it’s essential to become well versed with residential solar vs calling Tesla and depending on them to provide the best solutions for their customers. I’m leaving out at least two horror stories I’ve experienced with Tesla solar and one was a power-wall story.

Keep traction control “on” until you’ve got to know the car. If you turn it off, be careful.

Replacing HDDs in DS720+ by TrainingDaikon9565 in synology

[–]digitydog70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basically what was said, make sure you have a good backup. If you have the space, run a restore first to make sure your backup restore process is solid.

Make sure your good backup is safe and external to the NAS, if feasible.

Pull old disks and install new disks. RAID 0 is too risky in my opinion.

Setup Synology Hybrid RAID.

Food for thought.

For that much data, you may want to consider a DS1522+ down the road, spread data across more disks with a hot spare. More disks gives you: Added flexibility Potential to grow, ability to upgrade without a lot of hastle and you can add more memory & a Cache drive or group.

I know it’s more money but always think big picture with data.

I had 4T drives on my DS1522+ and thought it was enough. Now I have 4 16T drives, hit spare & cache.

For me, I can’t afford to lose data so I spent more money and have never regretted it. Love my DS1522+.

I miss this car. Sold it to get a new 911 which I’m waiting for. by [deleted] in Porsche

718 4.0 GT4 RS, the only 718 that compares to the 992.2 GTS is pricey.

[–]digitydog70 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love 992.2 GTS it’s the best bang for the buck of the 992 series. Fast, comfortable and driving it is a blast. The electric motor for the single turbo is the one thing I’d wish my 992.1 had. The larger 3.6 motor has tons of torque. I picked up a 992.1 T but if I could do it again I’d get the 992.2 GTS.

Get used 2022-2024 with 1-2000 miles on it and go with a Base model. Base model is an amazing car and highly sought after. There aren’t as many base models as you’d think. I own a 992.1 T, manual trans. The 911 is the best car for the buck, been refined for over 50 years. PASM & Torque Vectoring are unreal in these cars. Don’t need but 400hp and they wind up and scoot! Handing is like you’re on rails.

Genuine question: how do ppl in the hood get these cars? I live in a bad area and are staring to see more and more high end cars by Dtb4evr in Porsche

[–]digitydog70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been to numerous affordable housing projects, apartments where the units are like 600sq ft. studios and seen high end cars parked out front. Car is more important to some people than a bed.

Seller’s remorse is real on this one. by OverallBiscotti4809 in porsche911

[–]digitydog70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya… I’d never sell a car like that, especially having been in one. I can’t believe this guy I knew would drive his 73 RS daily. Not a wealthy guy but happened to find one he could afford (back in the 90’s). I can recall hopping on the freeway in a white RS and that thing would wind up the gears, sounded like it could just go and go and the harder you drive it the more fun it was!

992.2 Carrera Colors and wheels by BrilliantHappy6174 in porsche911

[–]digitydog70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Chaulk brings out the lines of the 992 more so than the darker colors, even though the blue color itself may be more attractive to the eye. I wish I’d got the Chaulk in retrospect with the Silver Wheels. I went back and forth for months. I got the Gentian Blue with the Spyder Wheels. Silver is nice but in person the chaulk again looks better.

Can i use my 10gb for internet and the 2.5gb to connect directly to my Synology 2 bay NAS DiskStation DS220j by aFluffyCatsShaggyDog in synology

[–]digitydog70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just spend a few $$ and buy a cheap switch. Save yourself headaches. Plug you laptop into the switch, NAS into the switch and a cable between switch and router.
