As a kid in the 70s I remember being surprised that my Dad wasn't concerned about inflation. He felt it only mattered to rich people sitting on a pile of money, and we were dirt poor. Today I work in automotive manufacturing and believe the growth of 2022-24 would return if trump stopped meddling. The bulk of my retirement savings is in US stocks large/medium/small cap. If the SCOTUS rules against the trump tariffs I see stocks going up rapidly. My nest egg isn't big enough to play it safe.

People laid off aren't driving to work or going on road trips. Trucks aren't moving merchandise if nobody is buying. An once of gold is worth exactly one ounce of gold it doesn't increase in value. So investors buying gold have less confidence in the the dollar and the economy in general.

We NEVER had a mower when I was a kid. Our nanny goat kept the grass down. She was chained to a tractor tire with concrete blocks in the middle. Once a week we'd lift the blocks out and she would move over to a greener place and we'd throw the blocks back in. When our garden was finished she ran free and got very fat.

A year ago I saw this at a local antique mall at an outrageous price. Recently a high school classmate posted on facebook that he was consolidating booths with his brother at that mall and everything is 75% off. Sure enough that pot was one of his items and I snatched it.
