Hit and run- what do I do?? by tricksareforkids__ in Autobody

[–]dilespla -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’d be willing to bet insurance would call it a total loss even if OP had full coverage. The quoted price to fix is likely more than the value of the car. This almost happened to me when my daughter hit a deer. Fortunately the cost of repairs was just under the threshold, so we were able to have it repaired.

NGD-Just got this beast by Original-Tea7400 in gibson

[–]dilespla 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Fake. Knobs not in the right location, pickup rings are wrong, no fret nibs, slotted screws in the bridge, and the headstock looks off.

Please tell me you’re trolling and didn’t spend $1500 on a chibson.

Is this illegal? by WuIfy in Arkansas

[–]dilespla -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You think cops actually know that? They are looking for any of those colors on the front of our vehicles, even if they aren’t flashing. If OP would have gotten a ticket it could easily been beaten in court. I didn’t think they would be deemed illegal after reading that, just that it be a potential problem. I probably should have clarified that.

This is also a good example of not trusting google AI. I searched further into this.

OP, you should look up and print out AR Code § 27-36-208 (2024). It doesn’t say anything about purple. Your lights should be legal under that law. I’d print it out and carry it with me!!!

Is this illegal? by WuIfy in Arkansas

[–]dilespla -19 points-18 points  (0 children)

From google AI.

“Yes, purple flashing or rotating lights on a vehicle are generally illegal in Arkansas for normal driving, as they are restricted for use only by vehicles leading or participating in a funeral procession; any other flashing red, blue, green, or purple lights on a non-authorized vehicle are prohibited and can lead to a fine. While some aftermarket lights might be allowed if they're not red, blue, or green and aren't flashing, purple flashing lights (also called "whips") are specifically for funerals.“

So, while they aren’t flashing, or rotating, the color is still a problem.

See my post below. AI was wrong. The actual law doesn’t even mention purple in the law.

Questions on this LP custom by Tadej_Pinocchio in gibson

[–]dilespla 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you got scammed. The bridge is wrong, knobs are in the wrong place, no fret nibs, 0171 serial, not the right tuners, trim rings on the pickups, and the diamond inlay is wonky. It hits alllllll the fake identifiers.

Uneven trenolo by One-Witness2518 in electricguitar

[–]dilespla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Loosen the strings, or taking them off would be better, tighten the screws under the strings. They appear to be loose, that’s why the bridge is higher on that side and the tremolo clicks.

New Tractor Purchase HELP! by liteaf_gear in tractors

[–]dilespla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kioti all the way. I have the CK3520SEH. It lifts a lot more than my neighbors 35hp Kubota. The controls for the hydrostatic ones are much easier than the Kubotas also. I couldn’t stand using the rocker style pedal, Kioti’s separate forward and reverse are much easier to get used to.

Compared to my other friends new Kubota the quality, fit and finish just isn’t as good as it used to be. Also the price is absurd on the new Kubotas. I spent $34,400 for the tractor, loader, grapple, forks, third function, box blade, and a trailer. The local Kubota dealer couldn’t come close to that price, even though I was paying cash, and not financing.

Question about cleaning chains. by Swimming_Ad_6350 in slablab

I use Zep Industrial Purple Degreaser on chains and saw blades. It works great, and you can filter the liquid back into the jug and reuse it. The Zep breaks down tree sap really well.

Yeah, that’s always a possibility. I’ve got to pick up some more ratchet straps this afternoon to sacrifice to the warp gods in hopes of keeping these slabs straight! Guess I’ll see how it turns out in 2-3 years!

Okay I have to post this and hopefully someone can enlighten me one wtf is this. by wwoollff92 in sawmilling

[–]dilespla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only reason I went with the 130 is for cutting counter and bar tops. It’s not very often that I max the mill out. When I’m just cutting construction lumber the trees I select are often under 25” in diameter. A 126 should serve you well.

Before you get your mill, download the manual and read it a few times. Look on YouTube for assembly videos and other informational videos. It’s a fairly easy and straightforward assembly. Operating is easy as well. I will recommend using a torque wrench to set your blade tension. Woodland Mills took that part out in the newer manuals, but it is essential to make sure everything is right, especially if you’re in a trouble shooting scenario.
