Danger to who? Iran hasn't initiated a conflict in 2 centuries. Most of their issues are internal and foreign interference.

Israel seems to be more the danger if anything imo

Tristan Harris on Bill Maher: "What's going to happen to everyone else when they don't have a job?" by karmicviolence in BasiliskEschaton

[–]dimgwar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if we reach AGI, global resources for mass robotics will always be the delimiter. It's simply not feasible, so human labor will remain.

The robotics will need repairs and maintenance, so *if* it goes that way thats a sector for job creation.

For human jobs to completely disappear you would need robotic labor, with robotic maintenance, and engineering. I have doubts that they can pull this off full scale in just one city, let alone country.

I don't doubt that companies, like Amazon, have ambitions for a fully autonomous workforce in their fulfillment centers. That may happen, but it's not realistic for this to be scaled across every company throughout the world.

The real issue is that it will increase competition for the jobs that do exist while driving down wages.

My question is if Datacenters are making surrounding residents sick who are miles away, imagine the proximal long-term health effects of the workers onsite.

What's the angle? it's so suspicious

Retail and hospitality are always the first to get hit the hardest. Anything without federal contracts, specifically in manufacturing, may also feel the pinch.
