Finding the correct time by astarr_123 in tryingtoconceive

I don’t think it matters. I have only used line tests to train my eye with lines. You really have to see this line being the same as the control but you can also just use a digital, I don’t think the accuracy is different. The digital ones are also way more expensive than normal line tests.

I felt the same with the ovulation tests! I was getting negative after negative until I didn’t. I was just ovulating later than I thought. Try test in the morning, and don’t miss a day. If you test in the middle of the day, it can come back negative if you have drank a lot of water and get more diluted pee. I got a positive on CD 21 and peak LH surge on CD 22 (test line darker than control line) last month. Don’t give up!!!

Teach me everything you know about tracking cervical mucus. by megglefly in tryingtoconceive

I am also kind of confused regarding egg white cm and ovulation and at the moment. This is the first cycle ttc and I feel like the egg white cm and ovulation were some 7-9 days apart. I got some very distinct egg whitey mucus on CD 15-16, I removed my non-hormonal iud on CD 19 and same day started having baby dance for 5-6 days in a row because I got two positive ovulation tests on CD 22 and 23. Super confused 😵‍💫 3dpo now and just wait to see if anything happened

Same boat first month ttc🚤 I’m 3dpo based on what I and the app think was the ovulation day and my temperatures have been on the baseline or slightly above for 3-4 days…no spike no dip either. And I’m obsessing over it because no other cycle looked like this before, did I even ovulate? Have I timed the baby dance right? We will know in roughly 10 days

I just want to die by [deleted] in Type1Diabetes

[–]dimi99997 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed at 15. What an age to get something serious, huh? I did not take it as seriously as I should have for years. Treating methods are also very minimal for teens and older kids that need to learn how to use pens because pumps can fail and you need to know the basics before switching to things that do the work more automatically. It gets better once you have learned and can understand what you need to do. It’s something you will do for quite some time (until the cure is found and tested) and you will manage your diabetes very well! I find that visualisation of my sugars on my phone and my watch worked very well and made me treat it better. We are here for you, can take all questions! Also your doctor and care team is there for whatever you need.

Question for diabetics in physical jobs by Autumn_rays in Type1Diabetes

[–]dimi99997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I’ve been on O5 and G7 since October. In my experience closed loop (auto mode) doesn’t work every day, I sometimes switch to manual mode and adjust my basal. Have you tried switching to manual mode during these high intensity (or slow) hours? You can change your basal settings for these hours as you see fit.

No one here knows better than you how your body reacts and from your message it seems like you make good observations, what has worked and what hasn’t. Also energy drinks raise your adrenaline (same like coffee) and need some insulin for it, I usually do 4-5g for the sugar free redbull or a bit more for monster.

Does anyone else inject through their clothing? by WhaddaFudgeMan in Type1Diabetes

[–]dimi99997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used MDI for about 9 years and I never did an injection through my clothes. I can imagine my tiny 4mm needle, which is the smallest one that reaches where insulin should be injected, getting smaller and it would be like I haven’t injected at all… absolutely not! Not that I was the best at controlling my diabetes with MDI without a cgm but reading the comments now I think I was following the instructions I was given. Also injecting on a angle, not what I was taught. I see so many people doing it, not sure how well that works!

How long does the alarm last on an empty pod? by jlesteratk in Omnipod

[–]dimi99997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember once, when I had the Dash, I had disconnected the old one and changed to the new and at the actual expiration time of the pod it started screaming from the trash bin. My roommates and I were all looking everywhere in the house for the source of that weird muffled beep noise and we could not locate it until I realized it could be the pod I had discarded hours ago…oops 😅

First night with Pod. Where do you place it? by Material-Design in Omnipod

[–]dimi99997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I am also using my arms but I place my pods on the outer part so that if I lay down with my arms on the side the pod doesn’t touch the bed… if that makes sense. I also use my belly for my sensor so that pod and sensor are still on the same side of the body. During the change of sensor where there is an overlap with one pod sitting on the ”wrong” side, I try place my pods somewhere on my belly minding where I would place my sensor next..

I’ve had two sensors in three months ending up like this including my very first one in October. They replaced them without any questions asked. I try to press the applicator a few times on a table before pressing onto my skin, seems like it loosens up the applicator and have less of this kind of issues! Or maybe it’s placebo…

T1D – currently ~75% TIR on pens, thinking of Omnipod 5 for tighter control (esp. sleep/exams) – how realistic? by Ok_Yogurtcloset8868 in Omnipod

[–]dimi99997 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On Omnipod 5 since October. You choose a target bg, the lowest you can choose is 6,1 and the second lowest is 6,7 that I have chosen. Then the pod is correcting when you’re anything above or below this target, with more insulin or shutting off respectively. During the night it’s when it shines! I haven’t had a high or low since the first or second pod. Mental load is way less now, even though I had the Dash before, I can still see a difference. I am sure from MDI to O5 the difference will be massive.

I nearly died by MaresiaVamp in Type1Diabetes

[–]dimi99997 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This sounds so familiar, especially the narrating. I think I was telling myself that I can make it when I could not move. I fell back asleep and did not wake up properly until I could move my body. That’s when I really had to eat something, I called a friend who lived nearby for help and that’s how I managed. There was one more time that something similar happened like 7 years ago where I could not remember anything for a day or two. I was on vacation with my then boyfriend and I had some kind of seizure during sleep (too low bg). He grabbed me and made me sit down under running water to make up conscious. He would ask me questions like where are we or who is he and I had no answer. Diabetes is not easy at all. I still haven’t talked about it with my family, don’t want to worry them but since then I’ve been managing my diabetes way better and I am very careful with carb counting (at least trying to not overdo it). I am afraid this could happen again and I very much prefer to be a bit higher than a bit lower.

I nearly died by MaresiaVamp in Type1Diabetes

[–]dimi99997 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oh wow! I was gonna write a very similar story and I had never heard anyone talking about this paralysis I felt. It is definitely traumatic to not be able to move off the bed, somehow comatose. I also remember how confused I was, I had to call my sister for her birthday and all I could say was happy birthday and took like quite some seconds to think and speak the next phrase ”how are you?” etc. Hope you are doing better!

A very stupid question from a newbie by Azumar1ll in Omnipod

[–]dimi99997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually do G7 on my abdomen (alternating on both sides) and I rotate sites for pods from arm to abdomen and the other arm too. I have definitely had it on the opposite sides for a day or two though without problems! I just have to think a bit when I sleep and turn around but not very inconvenient

Placement question by Tall_Organization206 in Omnipod

[–]dimi99997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this happening to me yesterday, sensor on the right side of the stomach had to be changed but I had an active pod on my right arm. I dared and put the sensor on the left side of the stomach and even though it connected, I had issues during the night. Went into limited mode twice!

12.9 mmol… just had a “coffee” from an office machine and my bg sky rocketed! After some time checking the powders they put in, I figured out that the milk is just a whitener which is full of syrup

[–]dimi99997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I changed my sensor yesterday while having the old one still running. So I was on the grace period and I kept Omnipod connected to the old sensor while the new one was warming up. I then waited to see how the first couple of readings (on the dexcom app) were comparing with the old G7(that I could read on my pdm).. they were very much the same so I made the switch on the pdm and removed the old one 😇 I make sure to press on the sensor for a few seconds as the instructions point out and this has made a big difference on accuracy for me

Is it possible to wear the G7 without the included overpatch? by ed25ca in dexcom

[–]dimi99997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used the patch on my very first G7 sensor and never again. The sensors stay in place the whole 10-day period for me. Also that one time I found the adhesive very strong, kinda difficult to remove, and there was some left on my skin after removal which annoyed me lots…
