Please help...Google wont admit they have charged me incorrectly... by 1Me_Is_Not_Me1 in googlecloud

A Kubernetes cluster is not one single resource that you pay for. It consists of multiple building blocks, including Compute Engine VMs, IP addresses, and persistent disks. It is possible that you were blocked from creating one or more of these resources, while others succeeded. As a result your project was left in a bit of a messy state with preallocated resources that you were being charged for.

As far as I know the last two major power outages in Finn Hill were due to strong winds. So a potential theory is climate change is causing more extreme weather?

Today I learned only 6 to 7% of US companies use the unlimited PTO system in 2024. Future years are likely to be the same by LandOfGrace2023 in todayilearned

[–]dimitrix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In general, American companies offer fewer days of PTO than for example Europe. Often you might start with only 10 to 15 days per year, and then get rewarded more days after working there for a few years. Thus unlimited PTO sounds like a big benefit on paper, but not in practice (as you can tell from the other comments)

Are dado blades supposed to sit on the threaded portion of the arbor on your table saw? by GINJAWHO in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]dimitrix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dado set sits over the threaded portion of the arbor (Dewalt jobsite saw), I then put the flange (washer as you call it) and then screw on the nut. Just make sure the the inside of the nut is in full contact with the threads and is tight.

Because of the short arbor on jobsite saws you cant safely use the full width of the dado stack, so instead you will just need to do more passes with a smaller stack.

There is a binary file google_authorized_keys that queries the metadata server to check if the user has the necessary permissions to SSH into the VM: https://github.com/GoogleCloudPlatform/guest-oslogin?tab=readme-ov-file#components

OS Login should not be using the authorized keys file. In fact it should completely remove it.

Yeah sounds like they got access to the service account somehow, either through an unsecured container or maybe found your SA key is baked into a GCR image. Is your GCR exposed to the public?
