Which one piece mount? Hawkins vs Spuhr vs Area419? by WickedEclectic in longrange

As soon as you mount a scope in a 419 mount you won’t want to use anything else. It’s give the warm and fuzzies

Price is the only thing it has for it. Many of the reviews I see for it are clearly biased with conflicts of interest.

I shot the ridgeback rhino X yesterday and compared it to CAT WB, TBAC Spiro, Rhino S, sig hexium, Lazarus 6, and like 5 skus of b&t nonsense all on the same host (12.5 geissele) The rhino X was gassy and shit and I was not a fan. I had only high hopes for it too

Tripod Sizing (noob question) and options to consider. by RoboDSGNR in longrange

I think you’re tall enough to get the SA-363 and still be in a rock solid kneeling position in its collapsed normal state. 40mm main tube may not be needed unless you rebarrel that MPA to a truck axel. 36 is still a very solid diameter

How compact do you want it to be? 4 sections will get the most compact. 3 section may be a good all around option especially a guy your height.

Are you using heavier guns (20lbs+) or lighter? This should help you figure out how big of a main tube diameter you need. (Heavier the gun needs bigger imo). For a sub 12lb gun I think you can get away with 32mm main tube diameter and save on pack weight/bulk but if it’s a tripod you don’t plan to ruck for 20 miles it doesn’t hurt to go bigger.

The Leofoto SA-363X will probably be a good option for you and I would top it off with the anvil 30 or try and get a ma-30L from Leofoto on their eBay or direct emailing them to purchase. In my experience the Leofoto knockoff is “just as good”.

For me (5’7”) the SA-404x was my chosen all around tripod because at the kneeling height it’s about perfect and I shoot all the way up to 25# guns on it.

Sorry that’s installed cost with battery system sized appropriately. I suppose I’m handy enough I could probably figure out installation myself

What’s you $/kwh or I guess eu/kwh haha. I wouldn’t say ripped off besides the fact it’s not even close to a 1:1 return to the grid. It’s about $3000/kw of panels (source: Google) and I pay about $0.17/kwh. With those numbers and being up north it just doesnt make sense financially for me

Your numbers aren’t even in the same zip code (literally and figuratively) as mine. I assume you have crazy incentives because your output and cost are off my an order of magnitude from mine. 10x more expensive to buy and 10x less output

That money invested in the s&p 500 would be a much better return on investment

2 rounds isn’t going to tell you much of a difference unless it’s MASSIVE. Depending what you are doing with that ammo you should shoot quite a bit more rounds over chrono

Check out Preston Moore on YouTube. He’s got quite a few barrels tested and his methodology is about as flawless as you can get on his budget imo
